I can't get my internal speakers to work and when i try to get the sound buttons it has a can't do sign what to do? please help
the speakers dont show up in the setings and i really need to get them to work
First check System Preferences/Sound - check all the settings to make sure mute is not selected.
Repair permissions & restart.

Open up GarageBand if installed then, open a program (optional).
Quit out of the GarageBand app.

My sound from Internal Speakers stop working and the icon get grey

Yesterday I use my headphones to listen music from my mac. Today after I turn on my notebook I saw that my sound icon is grey and when I try to change the level of the sound nothing happens. When I put again my headphones the sound works.
I also saw that I have no option to choose Internal Speakers in Sound menu.
Can you help me pls.I got the solution !
The problem was at the Headphone's port. I reconnected my headphones several times till the problem disappeared. There was some red light inside the port. -
When I unplug Apple headphones from my MacBook Pro sond from internal speakers not work, and system soud preferences displayed: Output: optical digital out port only
If you see a red light in the audio output port, then the internal switch is stuck. Insert the earphone plug a few times and see if you can trip the switch. If that fails, insert a cocktail stirrer and the like and jiggle it around inside. If that fails, take it to an Apple store and have the technicians at the genius bar do it for you.

Where do you state that you need to email the files to someone else?
Where do you state that you need to edit them?
This was my response ....
You can't edit any of these files without a compatible iPad app like Documents to Go (Excel, Word) or Pages (Word files).
You can open and view the files as mail attachments but you will not be able to edit them. Explain exactly what you are doing and maybe you can get meaningful instructions.
Basically I said the same thing as Julian and I thought that maybe if you explained EXACTLY what you were trying to do, it would be helpful.

Did You may be direct iPhoto to a different Photo Library
As iMovie tries to find the appropriate photo library - it can get lost if iPhoto direct it into a Library on a not connected external hard disk or to a strange location - And iMovie HANGS.
Do - When no other program is running that might interfere
• Start iPhoto - BUT NOW KEEP alt-key (option key) DOWN during the full Start-Up process
• Now iPhoto let's You select Photo Library
• Select the one in Your Account / Home folder / Pictures ! !
• Then iPhoto should start up OK
• Now Quit iPhoto
• START iMovie
Does it still hangs - then I would suspect - iMovie Pref. file
If it Run's OK - Then HURRAY !

I'm trying to print to an Advent AW10 printer from an Imac running Yosemite 10.10.1 and it's been driving me nuts for the last two months...
I got on to Advent yesterday and recieved this instruction from their support team this morning and it worked and I'm now printing away merrily:
Please follow below steps:
In Spotlight search window type Terminal and then press Enter.
This should bring up the terminal window/program.
In the Terminal type:
sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf' then press Enter.
It will ask for your password. Please enter system password.(You will not see password entering)
After that type following:
sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd then press Enter.
Try Printing.
I don't think this is specific to Advent and is rather simply an 'opening up' of something blocking the 'printer channels' (layman's terms obviously)

I cannot get subtitles on my new smart tv. I've read all the solutions online and none of them work. When I try to airplay the BBC i player by mirroring my iphone 4 the subtitles disappear when I change from iphone to apple tv.
That's because the BBC iPlayer app uses basic AirPlay to show the content, this means the original content is sent to the Apple TV for it to decode rather than mirroring the screen of the iPad where the subtitles are added.

I just recently purchased a iPhone 4. I am using it as Prepaid for Verizon. I only get a certain amount of data time, and was trying to use the wifi at my house in order to do somethings online without using my prepaid data, but for some reason it will not pick up the wifi at all, and when i try all the different things I have been told to try it still does not work, how do I get the wifi to work?
You didn't say what you have already tried, but if you haven't already done so, power-cycle your router (unplug it for 15 seconds then plug it back in), then on your phone go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Reset Network Settings, then try joining your wifi again.

Firefox has been working great on my computer for months, and then all the sudden it wouldn't load any pages. So naturally I restarted my computer, but when it restarted Firefox wouldn't open at all. The icon glows for a bit like normal, then it fades and never actually opens. When I try to use the 'run' command, I get this error:
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location."
I also tried the same for the file in the x86 folder but it gave the same error, and I went and looked for the files in the location given and they were there.
Firefox didn't crash, so there aren't any other error messages I can give you.
The things I had bookmarked are really important, I can not lose those, but other than that I'm fine with anything else needing to re-installed, etc.
Help please?But I can't... find... it... It's not there.
Unless you're talking about the entire Mozilla Firefox folder (which isn't what the thing you copied says,) there is no installation folder. -

In list view, select the album column. To choose which columns appear, select an item on the left side of the window (a playlist, for example), choose View > View Options, and select the information you want to see. You can also Control-click a column heading to select columns to display.
The column selected determines how tracks are displayed. For example, clicking the "Name" column displays all tracks in alphabetical order; clicking the "Album" column displays the tracks in album order; clicking the "Date Added" column displays the tracks in the order that they were imported into your library. Columns also have a disclosure arrow at the right of the column (when selected) that you can click to reverse the order. -
when I'm on a web site and I need to contact them the Mac wont let me do it. I have Yahoo mail but It wants me to sign up for yahoo's mail plus account which cost money so it can communicate with them. I dont want mail plus and I dont want to have to use different mail then my yahoo account. The only way with what you desire & have is to Right click or Control+click on the eMail link on the site, choose Copy Email Address, open Yahoo Mail in your Browser, New Message, then Paste in the To: bar.
WebMail is a real pain, Yahoo is a pain... are you sure you wouldn't like to modernize & streamline things with a new free POP or IMAP accont like HotMail/Live.com, or GMail? -
Trying to upgrade to Lion on my 20" iMac that I bought in Nov. 2007. Currently I'm running on MAC OS X version 10.6.8. When I tried to buy the upgrade I got a response that Lion requires 2 GB of memory and I only have 1 GB. How can I get more memory and will my computer be compatible with Lion when I do get more memory?
Yes you can install more RAM. Up to 6 GBs. Two - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMMs. For the maximum use one 4 GB and one 2 GB. Otherwise install a pair of 2 GB modules for a total of 4 GBs.
You can purchase suitable RAM at DataMem or OWC. OWC also has video tutorials on installation. -
