Hi i currently cannot swipe up to get to the control centre on my iphone 4. So am unable to swith the do not disturb off therefore are unable to use my phone

Do not disturb is also accesible in settings, so you may be able to temporarily avoid the issue by allowing calls from everyone and having it only silent while locked, or perhaps secheduling might work. Other than that, restarting your device may be an option.
Is there any reason you know of that might be making you unable to access control center?

  • Why can't I see the airplay icon in the music app or control centre on my Iphone 4 running ios7? I can see it in the movie app

Why can't I see the airplay icon in the music app or control centre on my Iphone 4 running ios7? I can see it in the movie app

I've seen something yesterday that says Airplay in control centre is only for Iphone 4S and onwards. It's frustrating when they take something away without any obvious reason. I'm going to change back to IOS6 until it's sorted out.
I also tried connecting to bluetooth and only once I'm connected does an icon show up in control centre. There's no direct way to connect to a device from control centre on the Iphone 4 from the looks of it.

  • I. Cannot find a book on my iPad or iPhone but it's on my computer. I bought on iTunes.... Help?

    I. Cannot find a book on my iPad or iPhone but it's on my computer. I bought on iTunes.... Help?

Audiobooks cannot be redownloaded, so you cannot do this from an iPad or iPhone, at least not without intervention from the iTunes Store. If you have a computer at home, log into your iTunes Store account and look under the Store menu in iTunes for the "Check for available downloads" command and run that. You may find the audiobook there to be downloaded.
If not, contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department from their Support page (click "Contact Support" and follow the instructions to get to the contact form) and explain the problem to them.
    Regards.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The music on your shuffle will be in the iTunes library it syncs with.

  • I can't find airplay in control centre. I only see airdrop. Help.

When I open control centre I don't see airplay.

You will only see Airplay if you have a compatible device on the same wireless network.
Do you have an Apple TV or Airport router?

  • Airdrop on iMac not working with iPhone 6 plus

I have iMac from 2010 running Yosemite 10.10.1 (most recent update) and a brand new iPhone 6 plus running iOS 8.1.2 (also latest version). I cannot get them to see each other to use Airdrop. In fact, when I open the Mac Finder window with Airdrop, I don't get a link called "Don't see what you're looking for?" which I understand is usually on that screen.
I don't know if this is related or not, but I also cannot connect the two via Bluetooth.

In order to transfer files between a Mac and and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, your iOS device needs iOS 7 or later installed and your Mac needs to be a 2012 or later model.

  • HT5887 airdrop between iPhone 6 plus IOS 8.1 & macbook pro 2012 Yosemite

I have iPhone 6 Plus running IOS 8.1, I'm not able to use the airdrop between the macbook pro 2012 running Yosemite. Either of the devices are not detecting each other in airdrop. I have checked all the settings & everything is good. The airdrop is all active & is set to see everyone too, still nothing is happening.

  • Cannot stop slow motion (slo-mo) capture on iPhone 6 plus

On my iPhone 6 plus I have been done a little bit of recording using the slow-motion mode. I'm able to do this successfully when the length of the clip is 10-20 seconds. One time the recording exceeded perhaps 1-2 min, then I cannot stop the recording. Finally I turned off the phone and lost the recording. Is this a known problem? Any suggestions?

Having a simlar issue.  I recorded video on at 240 fps on my 6 Plus.  The video went into the "slo mo" folder and has the gear icon thing in the corner indicating it was captured that way.  When I try to play the videos back on my iPhone they play at a normal 30 fps.  There is no slider to adjust the speed.  I have NOT sync'd with iTunes at all.  I shot the video and and tried to play it back about an hour later.  I tried restarting the iPhone but that did not help.

  • Have upgraded to Lion but cannot find AirDrop for file transfer. Does it exist?

Apple lists AirDrop as a new feature in the Lion OS and it looks great but it is not where it should be in Finder, Go, Apps and Spotlight has never heard of it. Am I missing something or has Apple dumped it from the OS but not the sales pitch?

AirDrop is still in Lion, but is (and has always been) only supported on certain systems. Check to see if your system is supported:

If it is, post back with your model and specs of Mac and perhaps someone will have suggestions.

  • I cannot find AirDrop anywhere on my computer?!?

I'm not able to find (and therefore, use) AirDrop on my computer, which has MntLion.

It waid i could type a phrase into a terminal window....What's a terminal window.
Terminal is the command line application. It is in the Utilities folder which is in the Applications folder.
Copy the command and Paste it into a Terminal Window and hit return.
Then log out and back in.

  • I cannot find the Java Control Panel.

I looked under System Preferences, and in the Utilities Folders, I did a soplight search, it is nowhere to be found. I installed JRE-7u21-macosx-x64, and it says it installed, but there's no evidence of it anywhere. I am unable to use a web start program (a ROES program) becuase it keeps telling my I need to install the JRE. The vendor I use that supplys the ROES program told me to look at the Java settings in "system preferences" but alas, it's not there.
    I am running OSX 10.8.3
    HELP!
    Greg

Thanks Eric.. I found some terminal script that simply removed or disabled Java 7 and re-enabled Apple's Version 6, and that allowed me to launch the "Web Start" application I needed. But I will try to do the uninstall as suggested and see if that corrects things. Interestingly enough, there was an OSX update yesterday that listed Java as one of the patches, and yet it did nothing to fix the problem.

  • ITunes cannot find the correct iTunes file to sync iPhone

I have the iPhone 4 and no problems with the phone or iTunes until now. I opened iTunes and it was blank so I reconnected iTunes to the proper files, however, it doesn't show my apps and it doesn't recognize my iPhone. When I try to sync iTunes warns me that the Iphone is synced to another iTunes and if I sync it will erase and re-write the data on the phone. I've only synced to one computer and don't know how to get it to re-recognize the proper iphone files. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)
