I cannot get the STOP button to appear in the Navigation Toolbar, even after going through the suggestions; it will appear when the Restore Default Set window is open, but disappears as soon as DONE is clicked

The X for STOP loading the page does not appear in the Navigation Toolbar. If I do the right click, select Customize, Restore Default Set, it appears; click Done and it disappears. I have disabled the theme; disabled all extensions; reset the toolbar & controls; unchecked the acceleration. No luck.

Starting in Firefox 4, the Go, Stop and Reload buttons are combined in one button at the right end of the URL or Address bar. The button changes depending on the activity:
*green Go arrow when typing in the address bar
*red Stop ("X") button while page is loading
*gray Reload (circular arrow) when page is finished loading.
Separate buttons are possible:

Have you tried disabling HWA?
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Will not open up with the home page I have specifed on navigator toolbar I have gone through all the settings but it reverts to another home page when I restart the PC

I want my page to open up with google which it has until lately when I downloaded jzip and since then it always opens up with http://search.jzip.com/ instead of http://www.google.com.au/ When it comes up with jzip I change it to google and request it to be my home page and it stays that way till I restart the pc and it reverts back to izip and I have to go through the same process to change back to google, it never used to do this at times when I have down loaded information it has changed but I have always been able to revert to the correct home page and it stay that way but not any more.
The jzip is in the navigator toolbar section as are other websites but this is the only one that keeps being used as the home page hope you can find a solution as it is very annoying.

You can open the about:config page via the location bar and do a search for jzip via the Filter at the top of the about:config page. 
You can reset all jzip related prefs via the right-click context menu to their default values.

While upgrading my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.2 something went wrong and came up with the message "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred [1015]." Now it will not start at all. It just stays on screen with USB and the iTune picture. What can I do to get it going again. I only tried to upgrade because I was prompted to up-grade and now I am helpless. I did a backup before starting the upgrade. The error message did not tell what to do next. Any help is very much appreciated.

Usually that means the iPhone was hacked to unlock it from the original
carrier .
Updating the operating system locks it back to that original carrier

Logic gets stuck in a funny kind of loop when i hit the stop button twice!

i bought a Midikeyboard Novation Remote 61.
Working with Logic is just fine except one Problem:
since i got the remote i've a problem whereby if i hit the stop button twice on the remote logic gets stuck in a funny kind of loop at the start of the song
Does anyone else have this problem and how can I get it fixed?

Only thing that I can think of is that it is triggering some sort of repeat trigger (I had this with my ProjectMix) on a command. Check and see where your stop button is mapped to in the controller assignments (in your prefs) and see if it is mapped as a key command with a key repeat. That's all I can think of for a start.

Lost the STOP button with upgrade to FF9

I cannot get the STOP button to appear on the Navigation Toolbar since I upgraded to FF9. Where did it go?

It has been a combined button by default on the end of the location bar for some time now.
While a page is loading it is a stop button, because that is when you may wish to stop it, and once it is loaded it becomes a reload button, because you may then wish to reload the page.
It may be customised by dragging it off the end of the location bar and reversing the order of the buttons, you then get two separate buttons see:

I cannot access my stop button while data aquistion is going on

I have written an application that aquires data from a GPS reciever over a TCP connection and displays it on a graph in "real-time" and it works except that I cannot access my STOP button to stop the connection while it is working. I think I need to do something with multithreading and have done some multithread programming before to do background processing but cannot seem to get a handle on how to make this work. I am sure it must be something qite simple as it seems like something that is quite common. Any help greatly appreciated. My application started life as the Multi XY plot example program from NI.

You can pass a reference to the dialog class into your thread and manipulate the graph that way. The following snippet demonstrates one way of doing this using the DAQmx C API

I also wanted to make sure that you know that if you have Measurement Studio 7.x, you have access to a C++ DAQmx API. You can find examples of that API under ..\MeasurementStudio\VCNET\Examples\DAQmx. The C++ API provides asynchronous methods, which means that aquisition worker threads are automatically created for you in the background instead of you having to create them yourself. Plus the C++ DAQmx API provides error handling via exceptions and is designed for use with MFC.

Can't find the "stop" button after updating to firefox 8

I just updated to Firefox 8 and can no longer find the "stop" button to prevent a website from loading if I inadvertently hit the enter button too soon. I looked under customize toolbar but don't see it. Icons I've got are back, forward, address bar, star, down arrow reload, google search bar, popup blocker, and home.

Subvi does not stop from the mainVi immediately when the stop button pressed in the mainVi

I have a mainVi which has a subVi inside. I want to have a kind of emeregency stop button in my mainVi.
when I pressed the button, the program does not stop instantly. it does one loop and then stops.

This is basic dataflow. Any code is available to run as soon as data is present on all its inputs. No data is present at its outputs until all the code inside has completed.
What this means in your case is that the stop button will likely be read almost instantly when the while loop starts an iteration. It will not be read again until the start of the next iteration. This is why it will usually take an extra iteration to stop. You can either force it to read the stop button after the other code inside the loop completes or use a Producer/Consumer (events) architecture where the stop button will be read in a parallel loop containing an event structure.
It also means that the Move_MINI subVI has no means of responding to any external events (such as the stop button being pressed) after it has started running. All the other subVIs are missing so it is hard to tell what is going on. From the control labels and VI names I suspect that this may be some kind of motion control system. If so it probably takes 100s of milliseconds to seconds or longer to complete a move. To allow an external event to modify the behavior of such a VI, you need a means of communication between the event (stop button) and the VI. A notifier may be an appropriate choice. The VI also needs to be configured in such a manner that it never goes more than about 100 ms without an opportunity to stop. Without knowing more about the subVIs, I cannot say how this might work.

The Stop button does not show except when I'm customizing settings

I have just upgraded from FF 3.6 to FF 8. The Stop button (X) does not appear between the Reload and Home buttons.
However, if I right click the menu bar and select Customize... , the X appears as it should, then disappears again when I close the Customize... box.

My iPod 5th gen is skipping 3-5 songs when I try to select a song and has the 'stop' button beside multiple songs?

Literally, over night, my iPod started acting weird. I cannot choose a song, when I do, it automatically skips about 3-5 songs before finally playing one. If I try to go to the next song if I do not like the song it landed on, it still skips 3-5 songs again.
Also, where all my songs are, a lot of them have the 'stop' button as if I was playing them already.
I have tried restarting and restoring and nothing had helped. Any ideas?

Scripting the STOP button

I swear I've searched for this topic and found nothing.
It's pretty basic-- when I author a disc and test it, I press the Stop button on the Remote.
It sits there with a black screen.
I have gone through the excellent DVD Studio Pro 4 Peachpit Apple Pro Training book and the closest example I could find dealt with scripting for two menus.
For this project I have only one menu. I have tried to generalize the example to set a GPRM for 1 value (1, in fact) and a second pre-script to Compare if menuID=1. I've attached this to Disc end jump. That doesn;t feel right but there's no place to attach it to, oh, something logical like THE STOP BUTTON.
It ain't working! Stop leaves me with black screen.
Pretty basic. Is scripting overkill for a simple escape command while in Play?
Help appreciated.

I'm aware remote control buttons can't be scripted, but actions and events can. Somewhere.
Clueless users often expect something helpful when the stop button is pressed, rather than being taken to their player system screen and completely out of the disc. I was certain there was a way to head off this action. Okay, I may be wrong and I'm taking on far too much work looking for a solution. Stop does mean stop, after all. But some folks don't realize there are one or more menu buttons to keep them in the disc. They press stop and then they have to press Play, and navigate to their favorite submenu, etc.

Yeah, I always plug in Return. Those Playback Controls in Advanced however look like they disable controls. I've stayed away from them.

And if you want the iPod to sleep, just hold the play button down until it goes dark. I usually slide the lock then, especially if I don't want it accidentally being woken up in my bag or something.
