I cannot start-up my I Pod Classic. The display does not show anything. It won't power on...There is no icon of any kind..kinda 'dead' looking.

I cannot power up my I-Pod Classic. It is 2 years old  with serial # 7U7448PJY0P. Battery Problem ???

Connect to the USB port, for at least 2 hours, if after 30 minutes, the iPod LCD screen is still black, then it is not not the battery, but more severe hardware issue.
If you can see some life on the LCD Screen, then it is the battery, replaced it at any Apple Store or 3rd Party iPod service centre.

    Might be worth tearing down the whole iTunes install and starting over...
    Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
    Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

    Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
    The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

    Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device.     Connect to iTunes and try to reset it from there.

    If you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar on it via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC - when connected (and if your computer's iTunes is up-to-date) your iPad should then appear on that sidebar under a 'Devices' heading :
    If you select the iPad on that sidebar you can then use the Movies tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync that film to your iPad's Videos app.

    The user guide says:
    Movies viewed in Videos and YouTube appear only in landscape orientation. Street views in Maps
    also appear only in landscape orientation.
    Do you have the scree orientation lock turned on? If on there is a circular arrow icon with a padlock inside next to the battery charge icon in the upper right.

    Brand new iPod Classic and the screen has gone blank...unable to restore, some error message pops up, not pleased with this product as this is the third one in a year! Any ideas how to rectify this problem?

    Connect the iPod to the computer and try to restore the iPod via iTunes.
    If iTunes does not see the iPod, place th iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore the iPod.  For recovery mode see:

    If that does not solve the problem you may have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is inorder.  I doo not like that the corner gets hot.

    My IPod Classic is unresponsive, when it is plugged into the laptop, it is showing a white screen with a black circle through it, Do not disonnect.
    I have updated windows and ITunes and restarted the laptop. I have reset the IPod several times it does appear to do this, as the apple sign appears, but then  asks to restore with Itunes then returns to white screen again with Black circle and Do not disconnect in the top left hand corner there is a constant moving 'loading icon'.
    USB port reads as working correctly. It is fully charged via socket source.
    Also there is a internal low scratchy noise coming from the IPod. It is less than six months old and was working fine up until now.
    I also tried as a last resort to restore, after about 20 mins Itunes said it was unable to restore device.
    Any similar problems out there?

    What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue?  Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?
    What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the PC?

  • How do I get a rid of the error message "Insecure Start-Up Items folder detected because the folder does not have the proper security settings?

    I recently upgraded my OS from 10.4.11 to 10.6.8, so that I could download iTunes to my new iPhone 5.  After upgrading to 10.6.8, I received error message about my Symantec Norton anti-virus security, so I upgraded that to security that's compatible with 10.6.8.  Now I receive the error message above, about my Start-Up Items folder.  There are currently no items in the folder.  How do I get rid of the error message above?  Thanks for any help.

    Resolution:
    To prevent the "Insecure Startup Items folder detected" message from appearing
    Open Disk Utility from /Applications/Utilities.
    Select the name of the volume where Mac OS X is installed (default name is "Macintosh HD").
    Click the Repair Disk Permissions button.
    After permissions repair is complete, restart Mac OS X and verify that the message no longer appears.

  • Cannot Add Approved App To A Web Page - App Does Not Show in the App Part Section.

    Hi all,
      I have successfully add an App from the SharePoint App Store to my SharePoint Site which was developed using SharePoint 2013. The added app was successfully Approved then when I try to add that app using the App Part to a web page I cannot Find it
    in the App Part section. I looked in the Site Collection Features & Site Features I couldn't find the app to activate. I don't think I have done some kind of mistake. So then what else I have to do to add that App part to the web page.
     Could someone try to solve this matter?

    First, are you sure the App contains an App Part?  Not all Apps are written to have app parts.  Second, did you add the app to the site collection from Add an App in the Site Contents page?  Apps that are added and approved from the Store
    are added to the App Catalog for the Web Application.  You would normally add them to the Site Collection from there after they are approved.

    Delete and redownload that application when signed into the correct Apple ID. This may require repurchasing it.
