I don't think that error 213:11 is a new question .... but it's driving me nuts

XP-Pro: Well, it's solved. 1) Folder SLStore was hidden. 2) Made it unhidden and yes it was read only. 3) Still didn't work. 4) re-booted system and relaunched PSE_11 .... Error 213:11 still occurred. 5) Went back into SLStore to find it had reverted to read only. 6) Uninstalled PSE_11. 7) Used AVG to scour the computer. 8) Rebooted. 9) Re-installed PSE_11. 10) Checked SLStore to find that is was read only. ..... (x 3) .... 31) Unchecked the read only attribute .... Now this time I clicked on Organiser and was able to get half-way in till it told me that nothing existed and crashed out. Clicked on Photo Editor and we were in!!!!! Exited Photo-Editor and went back to Organizer and it worked! Checked SLStore and it was read only .... so left it read only. Wierd!
I believe that self-loading auto software should be intuitive. This problem was solved by the community stating that SLStore folder was causing the problem. I couldn't find it because it was a hidden folder (Why? when it appears to be essential to the first start up? And there also seems to be an exact startup sequence which is missing from the screen instructions etc.) ...... To have to go find something essential and then switch it on is time consuming and sodding frustrating.
OK, so now I've got PSE_11 working and I'm now happy ... Phewwww!

Looks like I fixed it., thanks to another post I read. I went into my Norton Security. Under Settings. Chose Firewall. Program rules. changed the itunes setting from "auto" to "allow" This also fixed my error (-3212) which would not allow me to connect to the iTunes store.

I am receiving Error 2503 message. It says the download may be bad. I don't think that's the problem. What can I do?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. If it doesnt work after applyign patch try the below solutions:
Solution 1:
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

On most of the web pages I open, Firefox hangs and gives me this error:Unresponsive script. I can open the same page w/Google Chrome, and don't get that error.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

TS1389 I had an hotmail account many years ago, and since then got a yahoo account. I tried to play a song that was purchased on hotmail, however I don't think that account exists any more and I can't play those songs?

I had a hotmail account many years ago and purchased several ITunes. I found some of those old songs and tried to play them but needed authorization to do so. It keeps putting up this old account, and the passwords keeps coming up wrong? Since I don't use that old account, it is no longer in use. I do have a new Yahoo account with I Tunes, but won't let me use it for the old songs.

Do you think that there will be a new mac book with leopard in januarry.

When Mac OS X Leopard comes out in Spring 07 do you think there will be a new macbook. I am now debating over weather to buy my macbook now or later because i am worried that they will do what they did with the core 2 duo and make me able to get like a 2GB macbook for the price i payed for a 512MB macbook.
I know you might say "that you cant put a price on the extra 3 months" but i think that i really would want to wait. What do you recomend?? When Tiger was released was there a new macbook>>>>>?

I think the simple answer is "who knows?".
The Original MBP was launched Jan/Feb 2006 and updated to Core 2 Duo in November 2006. It's unlikely that a further upgrade will come within 6 - 9 months IMHO, but as I said at the very start, "who knows?'
If the computer you are considering will satisfy your computing needs now and into the immediate future (say 2 to 3 years), then make your decision based on that.
When I bought my first powerBook G4, it was updated 3 months later with faster processors etc, did I care? Nope. Why? Because the one I had was more gthan capable for my needs. It only slowed up too much a couple of months ago. I suspected a Core2Duo macBook Pro was due to be announced, so waited until it was and bought one to replace my 867Mhz PowerBook.
Frankly I don't care what Apple do with their new models now. I have a Mac Pro, I have a PowerMac G5 Quad and a MacBook Pro, I have no plans on buying any more computers for a couple of years or until the ones I have just don't hack it any more. Then I will be interested in what Apple are offering.
You have to understand that with Intel inside, as I have mentioned in a few threads previously, changes will take place quicker than they did with the PowerPC platform. They've got to since Apple now use the same insides as PC's do. This now makes them directly comparible. If you look at how fast PC's change, it will give you some indication of how quickly Apple will have to update their offerings to either stay ahead of or in line with other computer manufacturers offerings.
Technology always moves on. I buy when something is available that will more than meet my computing needs currently and for the foreseeable future (2 to 3 years on). I don't really care when an upgrade comes along and supercedes the specs on my machine. There's nothing you can do about it. Technology moves on.
Intel have already announced their Quad core technology, so I would guess somewhere down the line Apple will be offering Quad Core CPU machines. However, as the number of cores per chip increases, the Ghz per core drops, so you have to weigh up whether you want a Core 2 Duo running at 2.33Ghz, or a Quad Core running at say 1.6Ghz or less?
If you are worried about buying and then your system becomes outdated, metaphorically, by being upgraded shortly after, why not wait for the launch of the much rumoured Apple Super-Scooper Turbo Charged, time travelling MacBook UltraPro Extreme 332, a 332 core Intel CPU running at 2.0Ghz per core on a 15,000,000Ghz FSB. It will come with 500GB TDDR9 SDRAM (Turbo charged DDR9) and a 50TTB Hard Drive (Turbo charged seek time of -10ms - it accesses before you think about accessing it), graphics are based on holographic technology and no screen is needed, as the graphics are rendered in 3D above the system for true interactivity, also comes with THX certified Dolby 27.1 DTTS (turbo charged DTS with 27 channels). . .
But then that would be updated too of course. Oh well just accept what's on offer now and accept changes will always be made to further enhance and better current offerings. Alternatively just wait forever, eventually there will be a point where computers don't or can't be upgraded or updated to further enhance them. Not in my lifetime though.

I don't need the gaming capacity of this card and was wondering if there were less expensive video cards that I could use in this machine. Same price for a good card that will work and helps to have 1GB VRAM.
There aren't any other real choices let alone less expensive.
Even the ebay links I had and not a lot of choices.

I have a cracked screen from a few months ago. A few days ago out of nowhere my spears won't work (ringing, speakerphone, music) apple told me I need new speakers but I don't think that can be it. Help?!

Okay so a co-worker (my boss actually) got an Ipod shuffle for Christmas. When he plugs it into the PC he get's a message that the Ipod on F:\ needs to be formatted. we've followed the steps and formatted it several times but following the steps only removes the path to the music, But here where I think a lot of the problem comes in, F is actually a networked drive that contains the mydocuments folder where the music is located, but whenever we plug the Ipod in it thinks it's the F drive so we loose the networked path and can't access it until we unplug the Ipod.
I would think the fix for this would be to change the drive letter under the drive management but it's not showing up there or in my computer. Is there a setting in advanced somewhere to tell it to assign the Ipod a different letter drive or something like that? I haven't had any luck finding it. Or am I on the wrong path to fix it?

Thanks for the response. But as I said it wasn't showing up in the disk management. Anyway we did get it to show up in disk management after stopping and restarting the service (for some reason rebooting wasn't doing it for us though.)

Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps in the Task Bar down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.

I recieved a new iPod Video for my birthday... which is not the problem :P
I gave my old iPod (and by "old"... I mean the 15GB one with the line of buttons below the screen... I forget the technical name for it, sorry ^^") to my sister, and with the exception of a short battery life, it had no problems...
...Then I updated iTunes to version 6.0 on the computer. She wanted me to put a new CD on her iPod for her so I did... and it erased all the songs I had updated since I installed the new iTunes.
Later I updated to iTunes 7 (and got very annoyed for about 3 hours until I found out how to get it to recognize my iPod). I tried to update it again and it erased all her music and didn't put anything back on...
I suggested she put the old version on her computer (I still have the CD from the old iPod), but her computer has a smaller hard drive than her iPod (10 GB)
So My Question:
Does anyone know of anyway to get her iPod to work with iTunes 7?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You apparently erased the formatted volume on your zip disk, so that Mac OS does not see it as a Mac disk.
Launch Disk Utility and select your zip disk (manufacturer ID) in left panel. Select Partition in the main panel. Name your Volume in the Name field. Select Volume Format as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). You are about to create a Mac formatted volume on a single partition of your zip disk. Click Partition.

In order to locate a lost iPod Touch:
You have to have an iCloud account
You have to have set up 'Find My iPod' on it before losing it
It has to be on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network.
If any of these conditions is not met then it is not possible to locate it.

I don't think that error 213:11 is a new question .... but it's driving me nuts
