I don't want iCloud.
Why have I been welcomed to iCloud? I didn't ask for it.
I received an email welcoming me to iCloud after installing Mountain Lion.
Ignore it.

what will happen to the stuff in my keychain after today? I don't want iCloud. Can I keep the keychain in my system under lion? Can someone please help me?
Thank you Sig. Well I keep all my passwords in my keychain. I'm concerned I'll lose them after today. I understand that keychain will be obsolete after today. I don't want icloud either, because I don't want all my personal info on a server. I want to keep my personal information in my system. Am I making any sense? Can you make any suggestions or offer any insights around this?

I don't want iCloud. How do I get iTunes to stop popping up the panel that asks me if I want to download the iCloud Control Panel? I'm using iTunes 11 on Windows Vista.
Why do you believe iTunes is causing this to occur?
What is the exact wording of the message?
I'm running iTunes on Windows 7 and never gotten that message. -
I just got a new upgrade iphone from a 3G to 4G. My son updated the software with Icloud. I do not like it, it drains my battery. How do I get the old operating system back (without icloud). Also, I don't know how to close an APP anymore and I think that could be draining my battery as well. It doesn't work the same way when I doubled click and then touch the APP it doesn't give me a dash to close it up again.
Apple does not support downgrading the iOS.
As for icloud, go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account.
As for battery drain...
Look through this...
http://osxdaily.com/2013/09/19/ios-7-battery-life-fix/
Also, Settings>General>Background App Refresh: turn off apps you don't want refreshing data - this can preserve battery life.
Also try a reboot: press and hold the home and power buttons until the Apple icon is displayed, then let go. -

HT204053 I don't want iCloud anymore.
I got an email saying they were charging me 10.99 and upgrading to 20 g of iCloud storage. I don't even use it and don't want it. How do I cancel it? I don't use Apple devices and don't need to pay to upgrade. If anything, I need the minimum FREE storage. Help! How to make sure they don't upgrade and charge me.
Hi catmartinez3,
You can downgrade your iCloud storage by following the instructions in this article:
iCloud: Storage upgrades and downgrades
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4874
Downgrade your iCloud plan
You can choose a lower-tier storage plan to replace your higher-tier plan (for example, a 10 GB plan to replace a 20 GB plan). The downgrade will take effect on the anniversary of when your storage upgrade was purchased.
iOS 5 or later
Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
Tap Change Storage Plan.
Tap Downgrade Options and enter your Apple ID password.
Choose a different plan to use when your current storage plan expires.
Tap Done.
OS X
Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud.
Click Manage in the lower-right corner.
Click Change Storage Plan in the upper-right corner.
Click Downgrade Options.
Enter your Apple ID password, then click Manage.
Choose a different plan to use when your current storage plan expires.
Click Done.
Windows
Open the iCloud Control Panel:
In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
In Windows 8, go to the Start screen and click the iCloud tile.
In Windows 7 and Vista, choose Start > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Click Manage.
Click Change Storage Plan.
Click Downgrade Options.
Enter your Apple ID password, then click Manage.
Choose a different plan to use when your current storage plan expires.
Click Done.
Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!

Don't want iCloud to automatically download my podcasts
Hi,
I am using OS 10.8.5 and iTunes 11.1. I do not have iTunes automatically sync to any OS devices as I do things manually. I also do not use the Podcast App on my phone as I tried it, but did not like it. My problem is that since I downloaded the new version of iTunes my podcasts that I don't download automatically are downlading to iCloud and I do not want them to. This makes my count of unplayed episodes wrong and I have to manually say that I have already listened to these episodes when I haven't even downloaded them to my computer. Is there any way I can get iTunes to stop downloading the podcasts auntomatically to iCloud? I've gone through system preferences and chose iCloud, but I did not see any option for iTunes. I've also checked the preferences in iTunes and turned off show iTunes in the cloud purchases, but this did not solve the problem either.Click on the More Info button, go to iPhoto's Accounts preference panel on the top bar and delete the MobileMe account. Next to go the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe. That will stop those messages.

HT4847 I don't want icloud I prefer dropbox. how do I get rid of it?
How do I get rid of ICloud? I don't know where the items are kept and how to clear them from back up. I prefer Dropbox. It was easier - so I can I change back?
Welcome to the Apple community.
iCloud and dropbox are entirely different things, however if you still wish to stop using iCloud, just delete your account at settings> iCloud -
Don't want iCloud as default destination for Saves.
Since the introduction of iCloud, some of my apps, such as Pages and TextEdit, insist on using iCloud as the default destination for saving a document-- which is something I almost never do. (I like keeping my documents on my hard drive, not on Apple's remote servers, thank you very much.)
This new behavior is annoying, because formerly I could depend on my Save windows to point to the folders I'd previously saved to, so I didn't have to keep navigating back to them. Also, because now the Save windows are collapsed by default, I first have to choose a destination other than iCloud by pressing the disclosure button, then wait for the full Save window to open before I can go to the folder I want.
This is not an improvement, nor a convenience. It is a pain in the ***.
Is anybody aware of a way to return to the previous state of affairs?Oooo !

I understand that the newest OS X is Mavericks. I have refused to upgrade from Snow Leopard because I need Rosetta for some older applications I still use. In addition, I absolutely refuse to use iCloud (or anyother cloud service that uses servers resident in the USA). Can anyone give me a good reason to upgrade to Mavericks?
Your other option is to run a virtual machine using Snow Leopard server.
Parallels
VirtualBox
VM Fusion
Snow Leopard server for use with the above. Call 1-800-692-7753 and order part number MC588Z/A. Cost is $19.99 + sales tax and shipping.

I don't want iCloud drive anymore, what do i do?
I would like my devices to sync back up to iCloud like they used to, is there anyway to remove iCloud drive ?
Hi there ashley_c16,
You may find the information in the article below helpful. Please note, enabling or disabling iCloud Drive does not effect iCloud Backup.
iCloud Drive FAQ
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT201104
After I upgrade to iCloud Drive, can I downgrade and go back to using Documents in the Cloud?
No, after you upgrade to iCloud Drive, you can't go back to using Documents in the Cloud. You can turn off iCloud Drive by going to Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive. If you turn off iCloud Drive, your documents and data will no longer be kept up to date across all of your devices.
What if I already upgraded to iCloud Drive but still have devices with iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks?
You won't be able to use iCloud Drive on these devices until you update to iOS 8 or OS X Yosemite. If you already upgraded your account and need to use a device that doesn't support iCloud Drive, you can still work on your documents locally, but they won't be kept up to date with documents on your devices with iOS 8 or OS X Yosemite, or on iCloud.com.

How are you trying to add a song to the ipod? I assume you are using itunes to sync music from your computer to ipod - right? If so, you should have the music on the computer and ready for syncing to the device.
