Why would you use the same iCloud login? Do you and your wife share that account for syncing contacts?
Was she actually syncing contacts to any supported app on the computer or a cloud service prior to the update as the iPhone is designed to be used?
Did you not backup the iPhone prior to the update? If this had been done, it should be a simple matter or restoring from that backup to put everything back.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say you've "deleted all old libraries." Can you explain that?
If all you are wanting to do is empty the iTunes library of all music, video playlists, etc. the easiest way is to quit iTunes and, in the Finder, go to ~/Music/iTunes and simply move the .itdb, .itl and .xml files to the trash. Launch iTunes again and the library will be empty.
You should be prompted to add content, so you can let iTunes scan the HDD if you like. -
I want to delete ALL of the Contacts, and start fresh.
I want to delete ALL of the Contacts transfered from my iMac shortly after setting up my new iPad 4th Gen, so I can start a new Contact list that is better scaled down for my Face Time and eMail usage (without the other 900 business contacts). I cannot find a way to highlight the entire list and then do a single Delete. SInce I don't have Lion or higher on my iMac, I cannot do an iCloud sync to do the job. Any suggestions?
Yes there is. Those songs are not actually on your iPad. They are in iCloud ready for download if you choose to do so. If you want to remove them go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Show All>Music>Off. You can also do this in Settings>Music>Show All Music>Off.

Downloading iOS 5 deleted all my contact, pictures, and texts. I was running the new update of iTunes and i still recieved an error of (-50). Can anyone help with how i can get all my stuff back? Also i just had updated my phone in October and it said the last time i updated 5/18/11 which is not true i am using a PC.
I had the same problem and managed to get all my old contacts back. It was because I synced my contacts toiCloud on the initial setup, but nothing was in there. If you go to settings-iCloud- and turn off contacts, your old contacts should appear!

I recently purchased an Iphone 4 and was not aware that I had to have separate ITunes account. My daughter and I share a computer and apparently she is using the main account on the computer. I went to download some songs from her ITunes and it not only downloaded all of her songs on my phone but also her apps. I do not want her apps. When I went to use the apps that I had on my phone before downloading her ITunes information, they would not open and only go back to the main screen. When I access her apps, they work. Help!!! How can I restore my settings and just take all of the information that I downloaded from her ITunes out and set my own ITunes on the same computer. Any help would really be appreciated.
Create your own user account on your computer, open iTunes, log into your iTunes account on the iTunes Store then sync your iPhone.

i use to just get music from any computer i plugged my ipod it... including whatever account... but lately im not allowed ... it says im already synced to another account... diid they change their policy? ... how do i fix this... i want to be connected to three accounts.... is that what home sharing is? will it enable me to get from all three?
When you delete items (movies, music, whatever) from your iTunes library the sync software automatically deletes those items from your iPod. The sync's goal is to make your iPod mirror your iTunes library.
When you use the "only sync checked items" it tells the software that <only> those items are to be on your iPod -it will delete other items from that category.
I don't have a video iPod to test with, but I think your only option is to sync everything you want onto your iPod, and then turn off sync completely, in favor of manual updates. -
Hi. I was setting up an iCloud account on my son's iPhone. We set up the account, but then decided to delete it. When we did, we accidentally deleted all the contacts from his iPhone. There was no backup done yet. I tried backing up his contacts in verizon backup, but that didn't work. Can anyone help p,was. He lost hundreds of contacts
If you deleted the account by going to Settings>icloud, scrolled to bottom of page and tapped Delete Account, then all you have to do is go to the same page an sign in using the same ID; be sure Contacts is turned on.

If your contacts are not backed up or not synced to some other contact manager (for example, my contacts are all synced to my Gmail account), they are gone. Even Apple will not be able to get them back for you.
You and your daughter need separate Apple IDs. -
Ios5 deleted all of my notes and contacts, now wont recognize and older backup HELP!!!
The new ios5, deleted all of the contacts and valueable notes, but it remembered all of the apps. Oh but the best thing is that it sucked all of the contacts from my phone into my fiancees phone. I drove all the way to the nearest apple store to find out that all I have to do is sync it back in and choose an older backup that is listed in the drop down screen. Well as soon as I pick the older version, itunes pops up an error message that states the back up is not there. How can that be, its listed, i can see it, I had to back it up four times today just the download the new ios. Let's say that I wasted a whole day doing this! I have always had to bring both of my phones in for each new update, because of it not loading correctly. The only good thing is that I was able to retrieve the older backups. I looked into using express lane and find that I have to pay, to have someone fix a corrupt update, that everyone on the apple forums are complaining about. I have a pc and the only way that i can see this resolved is taking my large tower in to the apple store to have them retrieve the information and have them sit through a 1 hour backup. Will the apple geniuses sift through my windows machine and restore the phone for me? Please advise!!!
Drag the iPhoto library to the desktop, right click on it and show package contents - hyour original photos are in the originals folder (iPhoto '09 and earlier) or masters (iPHoto '11 and later) - drag the correct folder to the desktop and launch iPhoto creating a new library - drag the above folder to the open iPhoto window to recreate yoru events (no edits, keywords or other changes - with no backup they are gone)

H.MThe iPad 1 can't run the newer operating systems. It'd be like trying to play a bluray disc in your 6 year old dvd player....it simply lacks the hardware to make the software run.
No suggestion about the camera, but given that Apple's attitude seems to be to focus more on the more mobile devices for photography (the iPhone and Touch cameras got features, the iPad and mini didn't), that is highly unlikely. You can tell Apple what you want, but you'd probably be money ahead to get a digital camera.
as to the photos, anything put on via iTunes has to come off via iTunes.Your main alternative would be to look for photo apps that offer file exchange that may give you more functionality. -
I have 3 i phones. Can I have multiple accounts on one computer where it keeps the contacta and calendar for each?
My daughter and I both have iphones. I created an account (not separate itunes) for her on my computer so she could sync her phone/itunes but not have it interfere with mine since we have WAY different taste in music. Creating a different computer profile should work if you have separate itunes accounts, too.
If you all use the same itunes account, you can turn on Home Sharing. That way you can all download the same content without having to pay for it again. Not sure how or if that works with separate itunes accounts.
