I forgot my password and when i connect it to i tunes to reset the password i get a pop up saying i pod is locked and must enter password

my daugter locked herself out of her i pod touch after she forgot the password. My computer was in the shop for a while and when I got it back I plugged it into i tunes to try to reset the password and keep on getting the pop up that says cannot connect i pod because it is locked with passcode. You must enter passcode before you can connect to i tunes. Now what???

Try using this program to get the iPod in recovery mode. It can be tricky otherewise.

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

Presuming you get the chime, most of your Mac hardware is working and has passed the first part of the power-on self-test.
If the screen comes on, basic graphics is working.
The dark gray Apple is not present inside the Mac -- it must be loaded from a boot device. If the dark gray Apple appears, at least one of your boot devices has some capabilities. The flower petal/gear moves while Darwin is initializing and loading. If it stops immediately, something is terribly wrong.
When the screen turns blue, Mac OS X has loaded and your graphics card transitions to Interrupt-driven operation. LoginWindow task draws the login screen, and Mac OS X is ready for login.
What could be the problem depends on where in the process it stops, and whether the power light is blinking.

Attempt to restore your iOS device two more times. If the issue is still unresolved, the device may need service.
The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

When I got to a prompt asking if I wanted to restore the iPad he said to click on it. I did. Now my iPad screen is frozen on the iTunes connect screen and I cannot get out of it. An iPad shows connected in my iTunes folder, but when I run a diagnostic it says no iPad is detected.

That is probably a lot of stuff you do not want on your iPhone. So this can be handled a few different was. For you current situation, you can delete the apps directly on your iPhone by holding on the app until it starts to jiggle and then tap on the X of all the apps that you do not want. The second thing you can do is before you sync with iTunes, look at the app section on your iPhone to know what gets transfer to it and you can deselect items that you do not want. Lastly, if you download content on your iPad and it is a universal app, you can actually download it directly to your iPhone by looking at your past purchases and download it directly from the App Store. Just connect the new iPod to your computer and setup the iPod via iTunes (instead of via wifi).

The AutoPlay function on the computer is controlled in Control Panel. Also, there needs to be current photos that have not been imported to the phone for it to start, and also the phone needs to be unlocked if you have a passcode on it. If you have not been prompted to "Trust" the computer on the iPhone and answered that, it will also make a difference.
Do you have the latest version of iTunes on the computer? What makes you think that you have a driver problem? You can take a look at Step 5 in this support document to see if that helps your driver problem. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
