so my iphone 5 kept crashing and i brought it to the apple store and got a new replacement phone. Unfortunately for me the next day it got stolen, i have the find my iphone app but it says my device is offline so i cant track it nor can i wipe the contents. I have blocked my sim, but someone told me that i could get the product itself blocked so that the horrible theif cannot use it at all. Since it was a replacement product and i lieterally just got it i dont have the serial or imei number to get it blocked. Would apple have a record of the replacement devices number? i tried using the online chat but it wont work becausae i dont have the serial number or anything. thanks in advance for your help.

nobody can track anything using a serial number really
IMEI number carrier can track a device with but only way to do it is when the police bring a warrent
find my iphone service which have to be activated before the device was stolen is what normal people can do

Hello ymprice91277, let's solve this mystery! To unlink the Facebook contacts go to Settings, Facebook, turn off contacts.

You can lock the device to prevent them from getting to your personal information if you set up mobileme, but unfortunately all the theif has to do is a forced restore and set up as new, get a new SIM and use it.

iTunes syncing is generally in one direction only, from the computer's iTunes library to the iPod. You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchsed from the iTunes Store).
However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your new iTunes library. (Going forward, you should use a backup strategy, and include your iTunes data in what gets backed up. Then, you would be able to recover your complete iTunes library, including things like playlists and ratings.)

MacBook and Air have Glossy Screens. Will Apple cancel Matte with the Pro?

When the new MacBook Pro comes out, you think Apple will only release it in Glossy Screen, or still provide it's users with the choice to go Matte?
How many people here who have the current MacBook Pro have either the Matte or Glossy MacBook Pro?
I along with all my other colleges are anti-glossy screen, we work in bright environments and it is extremely hard to almost impossible to work with glare.

Because the MacBook Pro is one of Apple's 'professional' products I think the matte screen will always be an option as Glossy screens can make it hard for those in creative fields to match correct colours etc..

Yes you can, and it's then up to you whether to have the same the same or different content to the older one. When you sync to it your computer for the first time it may be best to give it a different name, just so that you can distinguish them.

I restored my new phone from an earlier date than my niece's baptism. I don't know if I should have restored or set up as a new phone. But my problem now is that I really want those pictures. I had icloud on that phone and the new one. Can anyone help me or tell me if I can get those pictures back. When I log into my itunes account on my computer it still shows the other phone as a device but I only see where you can remove that device. Thank you need to take a class on all this new technology.

Like a digital camera, you should be syncing your photos from iphone to a computer often. If you have been doing that, you should find the photos on the computer.
If you had been backing up you iphone to icloud, then you could restore the backup, but many users have complained here that they lost all their photos when doing a restore, none seem to have been in the backup. Since your new phone is new, then try doing a restore (you should have done that when you first set up the new phone - if you did and the photos did not come back, then they are lost).

Can i install windows 7 via bootcamp (MB Air) while using remote disc? I put the windows 7 disk in my macbook pro drive, and connect to my brand new macbook air. In bootcamp i allocate the partition then i click install and bootcamp will not see the disk.

The remote disk on my air can find the cd but bootcamp will not begin installing it. Anyway to do this without buying the damned usb drive?

I don't know first hand if you can use the Remote Disk option with Windows but as of 10.7.2 you can now use BCAssistant to make a bootable USB (thumb drive or external disk) W7 installer with the Boot Camp drivers installed also. Have you tried that yet?

USB net stick will not work and not recognized by brand new macbook pro lion

I just bought a new macbook pro with OX 10.7 Lion the other day. I have an Alcatel x220 USB internet net stick that I used to use with my previous computer with Windows 7.
When I insert the usb stick, the setup driver is supposed to come up, so I can install it on the Macbook. But nothing comes up, and the macbook does not even recognize that I have inserted the net stick.
I also downloaded the program, and the drivers, and still nothing. The apple people tried fixing it for a few hours today, and they can't figure it out either. Same with the cell phone company that provides me with the net stick. No one has any idea how to fix it.
Basically, anyone have any idea how to get the USB net stick Alcatel x220 to work with a new macbook pro OS Lion 10.7?!?!?!?!? This is driving me crazy, and I would really appreciate anyones' help! Thank you!!

thanks I appreciate your response. Yeah I read something about the 64 bit problem. I found this link and at the bottom there is a driver update or something to make it work with 64 bit.
