I have 2 emails accounts one sends and receives fine with a POP account the other IMAP and I'm buggered if i know how to change it or to even check the answer from this question.  OMG is there a computer buddy who can help this idiot pleeeeease

Firstly I apologise for my dumness when it comes to computers. 
We have a new imac and i have tried to set up our emails.  One is setup up under POP (and is fine) and the other under IMAP, its the later that doesnt send or receive.  What do I need to do to change the setup.  I go into 'account' and where to from there??

You can access, usually under the Apple (icon) menu in the main desktop
window, note item with name "About this Mac" & click on that, to see more
information about your computer, its OS X version, and other. The system
version and build model are there. Do not post a serial number.
If you are setting up Mail in a Mavericks OS X 10.9.x system, there often
is access to information in the Help viewer from the main menu bar, or
in an open mail application. If you have a Gmail or other account, that
info is often on their home page where setup and help are located.
The settings of each email account may vary according to their provider;
so you would have to change your computer to accept them. An older

While that may not answer your question, you could use the info in
your Mac OS X system Help viewer and use its search; or maybe
a Spotlight search to see an answer online.
You have to learn some basic things in order to actually use these...
and it helps to expand that so you won't have to pay for tech service
on things you can do yourself in a few minutes, beyond easy stuff.
Of course, you're hearing this from a guy with no ISP email, ever.
So mine are web-mail only; & I never save email to a computer.
PS: If you have a new Mac with an AppleCare plan, you may be able
contact Support for help. Ask someone (for 90 days, or up to 3 years
if the Plan was extended) there at AppleCare, for their guidance.

    Sorry this saga is a bit long.
    I have been a BT customer for about 25 years.
    Since December 2011 I have been on their Unlimited Anytime and Mobile plan. I paid for my Line Rental Saver in October 2014, i.e. To October 2015..
    In September I received notification that the price of the Unlimited Anytime and Mobile plan would rise from £15.96 to £16.99
    In December 2014 I received my bill (including the December 1st price rises).
    It was about £7 more than it should have been.
    There were two items that I did not understand:
    1.Unlimited Anytime and Mobile Plan 1 Dec-11 Dec 14 £ 2.08
    This is the cost of your Phone Line up to 11 Dec 2014 at £5.66 a month
    2. Unlimited Anytime and Mobile Plan 12 Dec-11 Jan 15 £ 5.66
    This is the cost of your Phone Line at £5.66 a month, charged in advance
    from 12 Dec 2014 to 11 Jan 2015
    Includes your Anytime calls plus calls to UK mobiles
    The cost of the plan had already been calculated in the first three items in the bill which came to £19.25. This was what I was expecting.
    On 21/12/14 I raised a Complaint 141221-******, These two new items refereed to the plan had already been calculated in the first three items in the bill and also they then state "This is the cost of your Phone Line" and I have already paid for this by Line rental saver. I asked them to reissue this bill.
    I received a call the next day and was told there had been an error in the account (he called it a “Bridge” error). He said it would be corrected in the next couple of weeks. 
    Great I thought. He also said he would update me further but I did not receive any updates and so I raised another complaint (150106-******) on 6/1/15 to ask for an update as I had been told the original complaint would be closed on 5/1/15. I received a call to say that the problem was being handled by someone else.
    I then started receiving emails from BT Order Management who said they would call me but they never did.
    On 12/1/15 I raised another complaint 150112-***** to ask why. I did not get any response on this one.
    On 13/1/15 I received my next bill to say I was now £20.86 in credit and that “You've stopped your Unlimited Anytime and Mobile Plan”. Which I hadn't of course.
    I received another email from BT Order Management to say they'd call me on 22/01 before 8pm to discuss further. They never did.
    On 22/1/15 I then received another email “Thanks for your BT Order: here's the detail”. It said I had ordered “Unlimited Anytime Plan “which I hadn't and it also included a £50 Connection Charge!
    After this on 22/1/15 I tried On Line Chat who put me through to the Order management Team and said she would cancel the order. It disappeared off my account on BT.com.
    On 23/1/15 the order re-appeared on BT/com and so I phoned 0800 800 150 and asked for the Billing Team. They could not understand the problem and eventually she said she would cancel the order and that I would be put on the basic BT call service (i.e. £0.00/month).
    On 23/1/15 I lost my phone connection. I get dial tone but I just get the message “The number you have dialled has not been recognised.
    Can anyone in BT help?

  • Is there anyone at verizon who can help? I was scammed!

    Basically I called in to COMCAST to get my On Demand working and they talked me into buying a bundle. Part of which they said, I had to buy verizon wireless phones. I was told by this person that everything would come on my comcast bill and it would be about 167$ a month. Well I get my bill from comcast for almost 400 dollars and then one from verizon for 300. I went to comcast and verizon today. Comcast agreed to take 35 dollars off the bill, but that is it. And the employee at verizon refused to do anything what so ever to help. I will be honest, this has been a horrible month. My mom (who stays with me) was just diagnosed with lung cancer. It costs 40 bucks each time we see her doctor and 120 each chemo treatment. WE DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY FOR THIS. Is there anyone at verizon with a heart who could help? I don't know if the person who sold it works for both companies or what. But I was scammed. Comcast wont help anymore and a good hearted person at verizon is my only hope. We are basically getting the choice to either pay a phone bill or pay for my moms chemo. Obviously the answer is my mom. But having verizon work with me so there arn't major credit dings, would be a god send. I hate to beg, but please, someone help. I didn't know what else to do but post here. Sorry to sound melodramatic, but it is true. Please Help!

    Did you create a new Apple ID? Or did you update your existing one. Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID under which they were purchased. If you created a new Apple ID, you will still need to use the old one to update apps. It doesn't matter that the address is no longer one you used. The thing you want to do is change the Apple ID to the new email address.

    You won't be able to change it until you can answer 2 of your questions - you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

    When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to update your rescue email address for potential future use.

    Here are the steps I though I took this morning:
    Backup iPad
    Connect to iTunes and downlaod newest version of iTunes and then newest iOS
    restart Vista Laptop
    upgrade to newest iOS
    I knew somethign was wrong when it took about 6 hours to upgrade the iPad
    at the end it errored with this message error (-50), but the upgrade worked
    I was expecting to see all my photos but didn't see them
    I have tried a restore to a back up 2 times.  The first time took 3 hours and just sort of timed out - it kept saying that there was an hour to go
    I tried it again 2 hours ago and same message.
    They are very valuable to me and so now I am panicking
