Open Acrobat. Use the click-path Edit - Preferences - select the Category "Email Accounts". In the dialog there is the "Add Account" drop-down. Select "Add Other". The "Add Webmail Account" dialog presents. You'll fill out the dialog's fields with Outlook.com settings. (don't forget the "Advance Settings" button)
From a look-see on the web it appears that the following are the needed settings. BUT, you'll be wanting to validate.
The Outlook.com SMTP server settings for sending outgoing messages from an email program on desktop, cell phone or mobile device are:
• Outlook.com SMTP server address: smtp.live.com
• Outlook.com SMTP user name: Your full Outlook.com email address (not an alias)
• Outlook.com SMTP password': Your Outlook.com password
• Outlook.com SMTP port: 587
• Outlook.com SMTP TLS/SSL encryption required: yes
For incoming messages from an Outlook.com account to an email program using POP, use the Windows Live Hotmail POP3 server settings.

After connecting my Sony camcorder to Imac (Snow Leopard) to import a video to imovie 09 the import window does not open. In the past I have successfully imported videos from the same camcorder. What could have happened? Puzzled
Oh my! Obviously, I don't know what I'm doing. But I do know that my goal was to do both---backup AND free some space. My iMAc is old (2006) and I upgraded it a year or so ago to Snow Leopard. I didn't think I had the capability of backing up without an external drive, but maybe I do since I upgraded. Do I?
But I bought this My Book mostly for freeing space because I like to make cards in Photoshop and I'm forever running out of space when I get too many layers (don't really know what I'm doing there, either).
Is there some way that I can rectify my mistakes and start all over?
Thank you so much for beng so prompt with your reply and patient with mine. I tried for so long to see the dialog box with the library listings. When I launched iPhoto, even with holding down the Option key, it kept immediately launching into the full screen. Finally, after an hour of doing it over and over again, it worked when I held the key down for 5 minutes. Then when I was typing my reply, I kept getting a message to "Request Time Out." Didn't know how to do that, so kept hitting the OK button and kept typing for another half minute. Finally, when ready to send, Safari couldn't do it. "Try again" exasperated me until I realized I would have to begin again and use Firefox. When I got there and ready to type, I got the message that my message had been retrienved and did I want to use it?!!

ITunes window would not open after upgrade
Just upgraded to OS 10.4.7, and iTunes 6.0.5. All my software is fully up to date with all the latest. After the upgrade when launching iTunes I have two problems:
1. Intially the program launched. Now iTunes window does not open. Only the Equalizer window opens. A very big problem!!
2. During the first launch after the upgrade, when I still had my window, it took away a couple of free songs credit I still had with Apple. I don't have those credits any longer, or at least it didn't show it and wanted me to pay for downloads.
Should have left the program alone and not update I guess.
Any suggestions? Thanks.Only the Equalizer window opens
That means the app. is active.
Press Command-1 (Window menu) to reveal the iTunes window.

Mail does not open after upgrade
Hi,
I just upgraded to 10.7.1 and immediately tried to use everything. All seems fine except Apple Mail does not open.
Once launched i get a window that says you have to upgrade exsiting mail, once i press continue it says hold on may take a few minutes and the box vanishes not to ever appear again.
Have tried this a few times now without any luck of opening my Mail

Zeusok so it seems like this issue just got sorted, i managed to open the App and most of my mail has loaded.
Just some of the folders containing emails with rules has not been upgraded, hence i have lost a lot of the emails that were offline. -
ITunes Store does not open after upgrading to 10.6
My Intel iMac running 10.6.8 will not open the iTunes store after I upgraded iTunes to 10.6. The iTunes store page is simply white with "iTunes Store" centered on the screen. My iPhone and iPods are not recognized but all other functions of iTunes do work. There are no error messages.
I have downloaded a new version of iTunes to no avail.

Taken at face value, that's indicating trouble with one of your Apple Application Support program files. (iTunes needs a properly functioning AAS in order to work correctly.)
What Windows operating syatem are you using, g? If it's Vista or 7, do you have a 32-bit version or a 64-bit version? -
Finder does not open after upgrade to Lion.

After I upgraded to Lion this morning on strange problem started to Happen.
Whenever I try to open finder by clicking on the Dock icon nothing happens. I do have some folders on the desktop and once in a While I can get to finder by clicking on them, but mostly, that doesn't work either.
I have tried to restart and shutdown several times but I hasn't solved the problem.
I have also removed all startup itens, but that did not help either.
I am thinking about a clean Lion install. How can I do it?
I am running a month old MacBook Pro 13" i7 8 Gm Ram.

AndréI relaunched the finder and my finder window came back:
The key combination: option+command+esc b
brings a window with the current apps running, select "Finder" and click the relaunch key

Windows does not open and I cannot see my desktop at all
I have a 2-year old T60, on which I recently tried to defragment files to free up hard space. Now, when turned on, it displays a message that the \WINDOWS\system32 file is corrupt or missing and that I have to reinstall windows with the CD-ROM, but I don't have it anymore. Can anyone tell me how I could possibly find this file and fix it?
Two steps to be executed to determine if the system can be recovered:
1. Easiest, boot the system and access Windows boot options (F8) and select "Last Known Good Configuraiton",..but this is unlikely to succeed if your system hive is truly corrupt since the LastKnownGood is inside the file you may be having issues with. This recovery option needs to verified since it only takes seconds and foolish to execute the next step w/o verifying this one.
2. The registry hive could be corrupted and a chkdsk will fix it, the Catch22 is Windows has a boot time chkdsk feature but it has to load the system hive first,....well if you system hive is corrupted then you'll never load the base components to execute chkdsk. You can create a Bart with PEbuilder but this is a task that requires a skilled novice or interim level expertise, if this is intimidating then you can download a shareware 14 day trial version with a genuine email address for your temporary license key and visit http://www.avast.com/eng/bart-demo-request.php download a compiled version of BartPE ISO.
If you aren't familiar with ISO's or how to burn an ISO then you need the assistance of tech since recording ISO's is a rudimentary task compared to what you have to do next--
Boot the PE enviro from your CD (you may have to press F12 at powerup to access your Boot Options menu
Execute the PE environment and start a command / DOS shell
chkdsk c: /f /x
Press Eneter (DUH, if you need to be told to press enter.....get tech help nub ((if you don't know what "nub" means..... you need to stop repairing your own gear))
Take note of any file errors during the chkdsk, there will be a tally report at the end of the process and depending on how badly the disk is chunked up or how large the disk is...this could take hours to finish.
If that fails, then you'll have to explore professional troubleshooting options or the possibility of a reinstallation becomes larger.
Don't just sit there, take a second and use the Kudo's button to compliment the people who help you. -
I want firefox to open up to the speed dial add-on so I can use it as my start page. In the speed dial options I have checked the option to start firefox in the speed dial but when I open firefox it doesn't open the speed dial.

Skype app does not open after upgrading to Windows...
Just had my laptop updated from windows 8 to 8.1, and I'm having the same problem now.
All windows updates are installed. Is there something else I should do?I had this same problem on a new computer with Windows 8.1 which I received for Christmas. Skype for modern windows worked fine at first but after a Windows 8.1 update, Skype just flashed it's opening screen and then returned to the metro screen. Fortunately all this happened in a straight line sequence with no other intervening operations in between which of course strongly narrows down the causes.
After restarting, etc. with no luck, I looked at what was updated. Most of the updates were for MS Office however two were for Windows 8.1. I decided to uninstall these one at a time to see which, if any, had an effect. The first to be uninstalled was KB3003667 and bingo Skype worked again ! This update apparently involves adding additional support for other cameras and indeed some of the user comments on this issue involved a problem related to the camera. So check to see if you have this update installed and try uninstalling it. -
Firefox 3.6 preferences work normally, tested also with ff 3.6 removed.
You should check to see if an add-on is interfering with the process. See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].
