Your signature says you have 10.6.8 - is this correct? (It it isn't please amend it to prevent confusion).
Assuming Snow Leopard, iCloud has not been deleted - it was never there. The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.2 (Mountain Lion preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
You can set Snow Leopard up to access the email on an existing iCloud account which has been set up on a compliant device, and you may be able to sync iCal using an unsupported (and possibly unreliable) hack, but no other facilities will work. You cannot open an iCloud account on Snow Leopard.

To make full use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mountain Lion, provided it meets the requirements.

OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space

I have been looking at Parallels or VMware in order to use Windows but then I will also need to get a Windows license. Just looking for the most inexpensive way possible as this will probably be the only Windows app I run.
Also looking at this CrossOver software which says you dont need Windows license. Anyone used this before? had success?CrossOver's website has a list of software it has certified as working or working with known issues - Quicken 2012 has a bronze rating meaning it runs but with enough issues that it isn't recommended. Get a copy of Windows 7 OEM from Amazon or New Egg and give it a try with VirtualBox (an open source virtualization program). If VirtualBox doesn't cut it you can always buy VMWare or Parallels. -
I have cs4 installed on my old computer, i have since lost the disk and serial #s. Is there any way to recover this information and install the programs on my new computer? I used my old computer for college and haven't used it in awhile, now I have a job that can benefit from having those programs. I am trying to use the Home Sharing capabilities on my MacBook and my sister's HP Envy. I have turned Home Sharing both On and Off via Advance in the drop down from the top menu. When I turn Home Sharing Off then back On, it asks me for the Apple ID so I provide the same one on both then it tells me a little blurb about Home Sharing and I hit Done then the Share section on the left side of iTunes disappears. Where does it go and how do I make it come back? Thanks for yor help!

Hope I can play games with high quality.If you have a brand new MacBook Pro or have installed Lion on an older one, you can only instal Windows 7 on Boot Camp (for some reason you can't use Vista or earlier). If you have a Windows 7 CD and a license, it's pretty easy to do via Boot Camp. See here for instructions: http://support.apple.com/manuals/#macos
If you install via Boot Camp, Windows 7 will run as fast as your computer is. Generally, MacBook Pros are very fast laptops, so you should be pretty good. That being said, just like any laptop, if it's a cheaper MacBook Pro, you won't have access to as capable graphics processing as more high-end machines. So if it's a newer game with crazy impressive graphics, you will likely not be able to tap into the highest settings on the game on any laptop. -

Don't share the same ID for iMessage (you can still share the same ID for other things if you want). On your iOS device, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID. Then on your Mac, open the Messages app and go to Messages>Preferences>General, select your iMessage account, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID.

When my wife's Mac Book Pro was being updated to the latest version of OS X the laptop locked up at a grey screen with the Apple icon and status bar. Is there any way to recover the data and complete the install? I have not tried anything yet because of the data issue. I am not sure which OS X version as I did not install the software.

I was loading a big file of photos from iPhoto to Adobe Photoshop CS3 and more then midway it keep collapsing, yet each time I re-open photoshop to load a small amount of photos, it load the previous photos again, and again it collapse. is there a way to stop this cycle and start a new?

I have installed mountain lion on my early 2009 macbook (not unibody) and it is terrible, it's like owning a windows pc again (almost) What can I do? I paid for mountain lion, is there any way of giving it back and getting a refund? obvisoulsy after unintalling it. I couldn't see any reason why it would be bad for my particular macbook, and it downloaded without a problem.
In what way is it terrible? Mountain Lion is pretty stable. If you are having problems, most likely they are unique to your particular system and can be fixed. If you don't like some of the new features, that does not constitute reason for a refund.
If that does not suit you, you will have to discuss a refund with Apple, as they are the only ones who can say. Note that the App Store terms do say that all sales are final, so you are not guaranteed a refund, especially since whatever problems you had are not due to defective software. -
Hi, I have macbook Pro, running Leopard OS X. I partitioned my hard drive a while ago to install windows and only allowed myself 10 Gig of data. I deleted windows after i realised i wasnt enjoying using it at all and wasted my hard drive. I now decided that i want another OSX on there instead yet i have only allowed myself 10 gb on the partition. I have ben thru some programms but am struggling on making this partition bigger.
I only want it at 20gb but cant seem to make the partition bigger, only smaller or split it into further partition.
Is there a way to do this, i have all installation discs from original OSX so think this could help.
Any help please would be fantastic.
Thanks ChrisHi, dragging the partition will only make smaller, not larger. In disk utility you can only split or make smaller the partitions. Yes i booted from installation disks also but still no help.
And Brody, I am willing to erase the disc completely, infact jus started doing a backup in order to do so but that failed also. And the information you gave on partition a hard drive, Although very simple and i already know how to do this, but it wont let me make the partition bigger, and i dont want to make a new partition, just enlarge the one i already have, which i dont see possible from disk utility.
Getting really frustrated now, even backing up is saying no to me. **** external being a douche.
I dont mind erasing the hard drive but surely this must be doable without deleting the secondary partition back t a single volume, and re partitioning into 2 volumes again.

Before upgrading to Lion on my MacBook Pro I could print on the HP C4580 All in One using HP Desktop with Windows 7 and using MacBook Pro with no problems. I upgraded to Lion now can only print when I shut down and restart my MacBook. If using the desktop or the Microsoft Office on my MacBook it kicks the printer offline and I have to restart my laptop. I called Apple and they said they did not support 3rd party software. I had previously purchased the printer through Apple with a desktop. I installed the new driver from HP and removed it, reinstalled. Guess what, same problem. Can anyone tell me how to make lion work. Apple will not provide help. Have a iPad and with a small app for $7.00 it prints great. HELP
You must work for Apple. Contacted the vendor downloaded their app. Everytime I open Microsoft Office for Mac it kicks printer off line and if I print from a Windows computer (which printer works perfect) it kicks printer off line. If I restart Mac it will print the item in the printer. Don't care what Apple says, prior to loading Lion never had any problems. Sounds as if Apple programers goofed up and just don't want to admit it and correct their problem. Your comments did not solve any problems, asking for help not Apple support.
