I have just installed Thunderbird but it's downloading all my e-mails since 2007!

My old desktop computer used Outlook for the e-mail programme.
I have just got a new laptop and installed mozilla thunderbird to use as my e-mail programme.
When I clicked on "get mail" it started with downloading e-mails from 2007, apparently it was "message 1 of 11,247" or some other very large number. How do I stop it downloading all those old e-mails?
The default programme on this computer (I guess it's part of Windows 8.1) doesn't do this.

Hi Petra,
the matter is, that in your old settings you had checked the "leave mails on server" setting (or maybe you used IMAP as mail protocol). This means, that all your mail since 2007 is still held on the server and TB consideres them as "new" and starts to download them.
So you have to close thunderbird or kill the process via task manager (ctrl Alt Del==>taskmanager).
Then you could log on to the webmailer of your provider and delete all mails you don't want to keep any longer.
If you're on job, you should ask your admin to help you to configure the mail settings.
If this is your private computer and you can't access your mailbox via webmail, then ask again, I'll try to help you further.

My iMac 24" is mid 2008 and I have just instaled Win7 Pro 64 bits. The windows installation went very well, except wen I starte to use the Boot Camp CD for the drivers and then I have this error "Boot Camp x64 is unsupporteded..." So I had to instal everything in the CD one by one and went quite well. The only thing that I can not install is the Boot Camp itself! So I do not have any windows control over the Boot Camp. How can I solve this issue?

Installing iTunes does not cause content to magically appear on the computer.
Your media is only where you put it.
iOS devices are not backup devices.
Copy the media from the old computer to the new computer.

No, what you're experiencing is not normal.
Try booting whilst holding down the Shift key - this will allow you to boot into Safe Mode, disabling third-party kernel extensions, etc. Your Mac will be slow to boot and will operate sluggishly. That's normal. If you can get in using Safe Mode then you have some start-up item that doesn't play well with Mavericks.

If you hit the delete key you will be asked to confirm you want to delete the photo(s) from the catalog.
To delete an item right-click (or hold two fingers on the track pad) on the green album icon under the thumbnail and choose remove from album.
You can also select a batch of thumbnails in an album and click on a green icon to remove them all from the album.
If you cant see the green album icons, move the zoom slider slightly to the right to make the thumbnails bigger.
Try again from the Organizer with your 600D. After launching the Organizer app press Cmd+G for the downloader. Connect your camera and try refresh from the top pull down menu or try browsing for your device.
If it is still not working copy your files from the storage card to a folder in Pictures. Then use the menu:
File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders

Purchases are tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with. If you use a new ID, you have to buy again.
