I have no recovery disc or partition, what can I do?
...Whenever I start my iMac up, I get a blinking folder with a question mark, ..i've tried starting up in safe mode, and a few other things, but I have no way of recovering from a disc or partition.
I originally had Leopard, ..I then upgraded to Lion, ..my Leopard recovery disc has been accidentally damaged since and I have no way of recovering Lion, seeing as I installed it as an app. ...what can I do?
If all I could do was salvage my things off of the HD, I would be happy, ...is there a way I can without restoring the operating system?
All I have at my disposal is a PC laptop.

If you lost the Recovery Partition, then you must reinstall Lion from your backup on your external hard drive, that I'm assuming you have, as everyone with valuable data and apps should. If not, I'm afraid you are in a world of hurt
A question: I'm assuming you have tried to access the Lion Recovery Partition on your Mac the correct way by rebooting your Mac while simultaneously holding down the Command - R keys. That would take you to the Recovery Partition where you could reinstall Lion safely from the Internet.

You need to purchase an external drive and start moving some files to it or you can try trashing some files that you no longer need.
Download OmniDiskSweeper and see where your larger files are... you can move them to an external drive or trash them: it's up to you.
I would also begin, since it's obviously don't have backups, a backup scheme or two. See Most commonly used backup methods.

I updated my iphone 5 and now it is telling me to be able to work i had to connect it to itunes and itunes it telling me that i have to restore my iphone. what can i do? i dont want to lose all my pictures and stuff like that.
Something went wrong with the update, this can and does happen with every version of iOS.
There is nothing wrong with the update.
Simply restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If iTunes is stating it will take hours to update, that indicates an extremely slow Internet connection and is likely the reason the OTA update failed. -

This is how I discovered and solved my problem!
None option will be visible only when you pretend to download a free app and select create new Apple ID.
1- Pretend to down a free apps from iTunes Store
2- Create new ID (make sure you have new email also)
3- None payment type will be surely visible
4. Click, fill in information and continue and finish

[email protected]You can do just about anything with a JPEG image that you can with a raw image. The advantage of working with raw is that it is possible to work with more extremes in exposure. More highlights and shadows can be recovered in a raw image, but there is a lot that can be done with JPEG images as well. All of the library functions and keywording and all the other features of Lightroom can be used on JPEG images just as easily as they can be used on raw images.
Having said all that, you might be more comfortable using Photoshop Elements. Both programs have trial versions that you can use for 30 days to decide which one or whether both will work for you. It would probably be to your advantage to try them out and decide for yourself. -

I was trying to upgrade to OSX 10.9 but during the upgrade when the download got to 2.6gb /5.29gb message "an error occurred" appeared and since then i have been un able to upgrade, what can i do.
If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.
searching the internet i found a link to upgrtade to 10.7
The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.

You won't be able to create a new iCloud account on your phone as the maximum number of accouts have already been created. Your only options are to either re-use one of the accounts previously created or create a new account to use on a different iOS device or Mac (running OS X 10.7.2 or higher), if you have one.
