I have PhotoDhop Elements 4.0, which I have been running on an XP computer. I bought a Windows 8.1 computer, and tried to reinstall it on the new machine. It would not install, due to "compatibility" problems. Is there a fix that will let me install this

I am trying to determine whether there is a way to install my PhotoShop Elements 4.0 on a Windows 8.1 computer.

If there is it probably requires doing so in compatibility mode. Try searching Google to see if anyone has looked into this for Windows 8 or even an earlier version since it likely a question for earlier Windows versions as well.

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

I suggest you try it out since it's free. Maybe it'll be enough.

CS4 will not open Nikon D7000 NEF files; Is there a DNC that will open them?

I have CS4 and Light Room 2
Apparently there is no Camera Raw update for the new Nikon D7000 NEF files for CS4.
I therefore down loaded the Adobe Digital Negative Converter Verson 6.3.0.79 which is compatible with Camera Raw 5.4 or later.
Using that DNC, when I do step 1, "Select the images to convert" I get the message "No items match your search". It apparently is not recongnizing the D7000 NEF files.
Is there another DNC that will open and convert the D7000 NEF files?

I just bought the d7000 yesterday and was experiencing the same issue with cs4. I downloaded the DNG converter from adobe and selected the whole folder where the raw files were located (I was unable to select individual images) and it worked fine. It processed the files one by one with new name (without the $500 CS5 pricetag for now). The DNG files open in bridge and psd. Perhaps try selecting the folder? Good luck.

I had CS3 installed on my windows 8.1 pc. There was an issue with the printer so i uninstalled and tried to reinstall. Now the Acrobat is removed and i cannot get the install to run any longer. It says setup already running.

I am running Windows 8.1, CS3 appears to be installed but when i go into the programs they will not work. I have attempted to remove thru add remove programs but it does nothing. I have tried to reinstall and it says there is already an instance running. HELP!

restart your computer and check your programs (x86) directory to see if cs3 is installed.
if it's not, install it. if it is, open one of your installed programs.

HT4623 I have been using my Iphone and sync my music from my computer. However, right now, I can't. Tried everything. None of the new songs on my computer will go on my phone. It goes thru all the motions as it should but the songs are not there.

How can I have multiple rows of bookmarks in the bookmark toolbar? I can't find any way to do this in 4.0. If I had know this wasn't possible in the new version, I would not have downloaded it.

I have many bookmarks that I like to have readily available on the toolbar. With the older versions of Firefox, I was able to have multiple rows of icons that I grouped by topic. I have now wasted a lot of time trying to find a way to have multiple rows in version 4.0. I do not want to use the down arrow on the right.

This can be done by adding a userstyle with the Stylish add-on.

I need to have my icloud backup go to my laptop instead of my phone. I have 468 song downloads waiting to go on to the phone that need to be on the laptop. Which begs the question: How do I stop the downloads already waiting on my phone? It's getting annoying seeing those messages and the red bubble with 468 in it!

Settings- itunes and app store- sign out of your account hard reset your phone, by holding two buttons at the same time. Home button and power button until you see white apple.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

You can sign up for an account with them, being the largest online retailer in the world, they take all major credit cards and/or PayPal account as well.
If I were you, Id do some research on Australian online stores for iLife package before going with Amazon, maybe you could find it cheaper there. But given the bad shape the US Dollar has been in, you might also get a better deal with Amazon, because U$D is so dirt cheap these days!

I don't have proof of purchase.. all I kept was the two cd's and the instruction book.I bought it in June of 2008, and don't think I have bank records that far back.I was hoping I could get the information from my installed copy.. there a long number on the bottom rightwhen I open it, but that didn't work and a number etched on the back of the cd... but it too didn't work....

It is not viewable on your old computer. We may be able to get you a replacement serial number. Do you still have your proof of purchase for Photoshop Elements 5?

A redemption code can only be redeemed once. It is used to acquire a serial number. The serial number is what you need to activate the installed software. If you did not keep the serial number when you first installed, you might still be able to find it in your Adobe account online if you registered the software.
