I have upgraded twice to FF 4.0 and both times I have had major problems with it not responding and loading pages very slowly.
I have once again gone back to the older 3.6 version. I love the layout of the new 4.0, but I hate all the lagtime and the fact that it stops responding every few minutes. Will this be addressed? I would much rather have the latest version, but the lags are annoying.
I have also updated to the newest version and enjoyed the new look and layout how ever I have experienced confusing issues. For a few months 4.0 ran without a hitch no problem in sight then all of a sudden each time I loaded any link I would experience no indication of it working. Loading up task manager it was running at least twice at demanding memory usage was also high. The cpu usage was just as it always was which was below 5% even with other programs running. It constantly shows that the browser is "(not responsive)"

Since I “upgraded” my old Samsung Sway to a new Samsung Intensity III, in the past three weeks I spent many hours dealing with the VZW store employees, customer service reps, and tech support people. The phone was replaced two times, and I had no problem getting the replacements.
The third phone did not working how I expected.
Today I called VZW customer service and said I don’t need anymore trouble shooting and I wanted find a resolution, which will be satisfactory to both of us. After a short conversation with a customer service rep, I was connected with a tech support. I told him that I don’t need any more trouble shooting on the Samsung Intensity III because I already spent HOURS doing that on three devices.
We spoke about what the VZW could offer me, about replacements with different phones, etc. Our conversation ended with me offering the resolution that could satisfy me, which was to keep this phone and my account will be credited for the $30.00 “upgrade” fee and I will buy Samsung Sway on eBay. NO PROBLEM.
My account was credited and I was advise about the ESN number and activation.
Why I had no problems with the VZW employees and other people have? The answer is simple. I did not have attitude when I was spoke to them.
So if you want the problem to be resolved, put your anger in you pocket before you start the conversation. You can say that you are angry, frustrated, etc like I did, but add that you understand that this is not their fault that the manufactures makes a crap phones.Yes, you are right. I lost my upgrade. Also, it’s true that I could buy the phone on eBay… if I knew then what I know now. In the past, I never had problem with any of my phones. Doing an upgrade with the VZW was a normal thing for me. I didn’t expect that Samsung Intensity III would be a junk phone. My last upgrade was 4 years ago. I had $50.00 ‘new every two’ credit on my account, which was used for an upgrade. I lost the $50.00 credit paying for Samsung Intensity III. Sometimes we learn from our mistakes or from a bad experience. Three weeks ago I did not know that I could buy a phone on eBay and activate with VZW without paying $30.00.

I have ongoing problems with "application not responding" in various programmes, ie Word, Excel, Illustrator, Photoshop, iPhoto etc. I recently subscribed to CC but the problem still persists. Any advice please? This applies to my iMac and my macbook air! I'm using OSX Version 10.9.3

I give up. Have had a problem with HD Bay 4, and can't solve it
I have had my Mac Pro for a year, through Tiger and now Leopard, and it has been a great machine... except. From the night I un-boxed it, it has refused to run a drive in bay 4. it partitions fine, looks fine, and then when copying something (say a 10G folder), it starts fine for about 500meg, estimates about 10 min. All OK. But then it slows down, never gets past about 1 G, and the highest time estimate I have seen is 80 hours, The drive in bay 3 is not affected, though the machine is noticeably slower whenever moving from one drive to another is involved. Removing the drive restores all to normal. But the drive is semi permanently damaged, in that it has something written on it that is very hard to fix. I have been most successful converting it to USB. This has happened over at least 10 drives ( I have lots of spares from old legal work, all SATA 2). I have let this go for this long because I have Apple care, and I didn't need the space. But as I am winding down my working career, and pursuing my photography hobby more, this space is now an issue. I have been reading of "resetting", but nothing I have tried has worked as described, except for the PRAM, which did help another small problem. Before I call Apple care, do any of you have any suggestions? I just hate to send the machine for service if it is something that can be 'reset with something I don't know about. By the way, I used a little adapter to hook up SATA's 5 and 6, and they act the same. So in effect. 1 and 2 are normal, and 3 is ok if there is no 4. Go figure.

I have tried service, but my recently opened Mac store will not give me an appointment because they are booked up forever, and they will not allow me to talk to anyone. Didn't tell that part, because it was pretty shoddy, I thought, and really didn't help. Calling Apple care is next on the agenda.
I waited otherwise for the reasons i described, and because I knew I had plenty of coverage.
But your comment, about the SMC button was helpful, if I knew what that was.
As to the specifics, Bays 1 and 2 form a RAID0, currently with 2 500 GB WD's, but that has not always been the case. I have tried non RAID configs just in case, and posted on this forum several times last summer.
All of the drives have been moved around a lot, and all that have been in Bay 4 have had the issue. Currently there is a "rescued" Seagate 750 in Bay 3. Nothing in Bay4.
I also agree about the external drives, using currently 2 eSATA with a PCIe controller, both Seagate, 1TB and 1 750. Also 1 500 WD my book on FW800, and one Seagate 750 on USB.
Then the drives that I would love to use somewhere if I can solve this issue, as I look at them now, and: Seagate 320, originally came with the machine (3), Maxtor 120G (2) from other machines,Seagate 160G (3) from other machines,and a Samsung 160 from my HP workstation.
Except for when they are in the RAID array (and don't report SMART), all of these drives report fine in DU, including SMART, as long as they are not in Bay 4, or in the bay6 (5 and 6 are both Intel SATA controllers, listed in "about this Mac, but hidden on the motherboard). In bay 4 and 6 they report just fine until they are used the first time.
All have been thoroughly prepped before use, as described, and as I said once one is "contaminated" by bay4, I usually have to do it with a temporary USB connection before going back to the SATA hookup. In SATA they will neither erase, nor partition, nor repair and verify.
So that's the long and short of it.
Please tell me more about the SMC button you refer to. I assume this discussion board is the best place to learn about such items, and I thank you for your advise and help. Just remember, I do not know what you know, or I wouldn't be asking. Even some of the abbreviations, though familiar, escape me.
Hope you find this more helpful, because I really do need help, and I have confidence in these discussion forums, having used them in several other fields (both as the helper and the helpee!).

I Yogi is a complete SCAM having already paid for 2 help calls £60 approx I once again had NO SERVICE on my IPhone 4s and was told by their operative that if I paid another £40 for one year cover this would include an upgrade to the IPhone mid August or September. I refused to agree to this and said I would report them to the National Press. Suddenly.... my service was restored. I now want my initial payment refunded and will stop at nothing to get this back.
What is happening here is this: Once you agree to pay for 2 help calls they then at some point disconnect your service and try to get money from you to reconnect. I will report this SCAM to the Media and hope that this SCAM CAN BE STOPPED.
I also blame Apple for allowing this to happen in the first place because when trying to access APPLE HELPLINE you are diverted to this I YOGI crowd of thieves and money grabbers who are operating under the mantle of Apple.

I dont know what else to say about it. I updated and now all this is happening and it didnt before my update to Firefox5. I have several site I use daily and I have gone in and marked them to allow popups and they just dont work. The sites are My Yearbook...Kia Financeing...and a few more. And also I am finding that I get a no response a lot!
I am sorry you are not in a position to replace the iPad. It is stating the obvious, but nothing lasts forever - especially something like an original iPad. IMHO, there is nothing you can do to address the issues you have posted about.

Best Regards,You need to upgrade your copy of MS Office. You're using a version that is 8 years old (at least). You can buy Office 2011, which will work. You could also get a copy of Pages from the App Store, which is cheaper and will open Word files (though not perfectly). Or you could get a free Office clone, like OpenOffice or LibreOffice.

I have tried to rent a movie in iTunes twice in the last few hours. First I was browsing then tried to rent and was told my session had timed out. I closed iTunes and went directly to rent the specific movie and still the same response, session timed out. I completely logged out of iTunes, tried again 5 hours later, still the same timed out response. I have successfully rented, downloaded movies and watched them previously. Any similiar issues for anyone lately? Any ideas why this is happening?

I have just upgraded to the latest version of OSX as invited by Apple. Since then iTunes will not play and my volume controls have stopped working - in Preferences the sound controller is not able to find any input or output devices. What is going on?
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
There will be no audio output in safe mode. The question to be answered by the test is whether any devices are listed in the Sound preference pane. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
I can not get itunes to download to my Windows 7 Pro system on an HP Touchsmart desktop computer. I have attempted to install the itunes 10 no less that 8 times and it never completes the install portion. I had had itunes on this computer for 2 years and it worked well. My ipod is a nono 4th generation. I hd to uninstall the iutnes because we received a nano ipod 6th generation and it would NOT register on this same computer.
I finally installed itunes 10 on my laptop and it worked just fine with Windows 7 Pro and the ipod nano 6th generation worked well on the laptop.
I would like to continue to use my 4th generation device and have the itunes on the desktop but it will not load and install for some reason. Please send any suggestions or solutions.I have had this problem with Windows 7 and iTunes updates for some time. Each time it takes hours to solve but with the over the air upgrade to IOS6 on my iPhone and iPad, I was determined to solve and remember what I did, So here it is:

We've just now upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard and are having a problem with Apple ProRes 4444 and alpha channels in Motion 4. A clip with an alpha which keyed perfectly before the upgrade, now will not key. If I convert the clip to the Animation codec, it keys perfectly. If I export the Motion project as a ProRes 4444 self contained movie, it will key when brought into FCP 7 but if I import the project into FCP 7, it will show the key in the viewer but not the canvas. Has anyone seen this or have any suggestions on how to correct this? Is it a bug?
