I installed the new 5.0 version of Firefox and the thing keeps telling me i have to resart my system to finish the install of an old version. I resart and it doesnt do anything. What is wrong and how do I fix this. I have been using firfox for more than a year now and have never had trouble till this issue came up

If the toolbar installed something into the rest of the system, you will see an entry in the Control Panel in the software uninstall applet which should be removed. You might need to make a new profile if you cannot find an extension that has something to do with the toolbar.

If you can see it disappearing before your eyes, it is likely to be some runaway process. Possibly a log filling up.
Open the Console application and click to system.log and at the bottom, see if there is some process repeating endlessly.
Post the last several lines of that log if you think it is relevant. Don't post the entire log though, just the end bit.

After a LOT of research, I found a simple step that solved this issue for me.
I had been running my sync (pre - IOS 7.4) as automatic - see the options section under the summary tab
This can be viewed when you click on your device - right up the top you'll see tabs
SUMMARY / INFO / APPS / TONES / MUSIC / MOVIES / TV SHOWS / BOOKS / PHOTOS etc.
I changed my selection to manually manage music and videos and tried another sync
Wha La!
It began to copy over 700 songs that had not properly synced to my Ipad 2
BONUS: it then started to sync my videos again.
Hope this helps somebody.
It certainly made my life less frustrating
Downside: I have to MANUALLY manage - but it's better than all the hassles
NB: I don't know why this error occurs and I'm not sure this fix will work for everyone's issues but it can't hurt.

I have been trying to work through this problem by myself and have so far downloaded the most current version of iTunes. Frome there when it tells me I have to authorize this computer, I had to not put in the iPad information, I had to authorize with my current iTunes information, and any iPad or iPod, iPhone information. I have several people in the family that have different accounts, so I had to authorize each and every individual account because I didnt know which apps or music was purchased under which user. Just create an AppleID account without putting in credit card information.
Then proceed to download the free app.
It will ask you to put in AppleID info but it won't charge you as there is no creditcard connected to the account and zero balance.

Every time I close a window my app tabs disappear. The requested solutions haven't worked. I haven't updated FF recently and this problem only just started today for no apparent reason. What's wrong? How do I fix this?

Starting today my app tabs started closing when I closed my browser. I have tried the suggested solutions but they haven't worked. I haven't updated FF recently. I do have to close my browser frequently because the internet service my family has is of low quality and constantly looses service. Every time it gets service again it asks you to close your browser and start again. App tabs help me keep my sessions when this happens.
PS I recently got a virus that infected my Window's Updater, so I can no longer shut down my computer unless I want it to infect my computer. Please find a solution that does not involve shutting down my computer.
PSS I am currently running Fire Fox 5.0 on Window's 7, if that helps.

It turns out that my hard drive was shot. I took my MacBook to the Apple Store on Wednesday, they kept it for analysis and repair. They replaced the hard drive, and I've already got it back (Friday; less than two days in total).
Although I did check my hard disk with the disk utility, it did not identify the problem.
Some other troubleshooting advice that I overlooked was to try reinstalling my OS and to try starting up in Safe Mode. Neither would have helped in this case, but they may be useful for someone else having similar problems.
Other advice - always make sure your data is backed up and that you Apple Care coverage is up to date.
