The Mac App Store prices do not include local sales taxes. The tax is added to the total before your sale is complete. Your gift card credit total is not enough to complete the sale, so you are being given the opportunity to add a bank card that will be charged the remainder of the amount. Your other option is to get another gift card and bump up the credit balance in your account.

In the keynote last week at the iPhone event, they stated that all buyers of "new iOS devices" would be getting the option to download iLife for free? 3. Since the MBP is a different system I don't think it will directly copy over. You will probably have to dig in and drag files and folders of pics and docs over. There is a Time Machine Forum on here where you can get better info.
4. Erase the drive in Disk Utility. Start again and reinstall the system from System Restore (see your manual).

6. Most monitors are in the landscape ratio you don't want. But I have seen some that rotate up vertically taller. Might be too tall though.

No, you cannot seperate the audio and video stream.
You can use optical audio to a sound system (I use sony sound bar) and play the audio via that.

Has anybody successfully logged an online support request for an itunes card that hasn't been activated properly? I tried the camera to read it but still no good. Get the error about it not being activated properly so i tried to log an online support ticket twice on two seperate days but get another error saying sorry we can't process this request now try later. Very frustrated, my son has a $20 voucher from Christmas he can' t use.

I had the same problem, though mine was with an iPhone 5. I phoned the Apple folks and they told me they had the record of my purchase, and indeed my purchase date had been recorded. It took a couple of weeks, but the data eventually showed up correctly online.

Yes, it has to be formatted as HFS Extended (Journaled). You can do this in Disk Utility.

You will need a Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter... may also need a Firewire 800 to 400 connector/adapter.
Also need to make sure Presonus has Maverick drivers for the FSP.

Many free wi-fi hotspots require that you register first - agreeing to their terms and conditions, etc. This is usually provided via a web page with Safari provided immediately after connecting. If the register page is provided via Flash, you won't see it and you won't be able to register.

I just got a new Imac, and downloaded files from my old PC. Now, when I go to Finder, I have 1500 files in an area called developer. What is this, and can they be deleted? There are also 78 files listed as Other! Most of these files I do not recognize.

Did you use the Migration Assistant to help set up the new iMac using some of the files in the older PC? Some likely won't mean much, unless you have applications that can use or convert them. There's also a way to use the software Time Machine to import data files from an external or another computer, so you may have used that, too.
Hopefully someone with experience in a similar issue will reply...
