If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

If you had previously been backing up to iCloud (or a computer with iTunes), you would possibly have a backup.  That said, if you can't turn the phone on, you cannot create a backup of the device now.  Sorry.

I dropped my iPhone 4 in water and cannot get it to dry out enough to turn back on.  I may have fried the battery.  I am using an old iPhone 3 temporarily but cannot get all of my current info to sync.  My calendar is up to date but none of my notes have transferred over and the contact list is from when I originally used the iPhone 3 last year.  How do I get my iPhone 4 info synced onto the iPhone 3?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't restore an iPhone 3G from an iPhone 4 backup. Until you get a replacement you can access your iCloud data at iCloud.com on a computer.

  • I dropped my iphone 3gs in water and grabbed it immediately out. It gave me a charger is not supported with device screen every minute or two. I powered it off for the night. I havent experienced problems since. Why does it still work?

I dropped my iphone 3gs in water and grabbed it immediately out. It gave me a charger not supported sign every minute or two. I decided to turn it off for the night and the next morning it worked fine and only the bottom sensor was triggered. Why does it still work and how long will it last?

Water in itself will not kill electronic components if you let it dry out.  Your first reaction to turn it off was a good one but you could have waited even longer.
It also depends what's on your water that will stay after the water itself had dried; like salt. Anything that iseither acid or conductor left on the circuit board will reduce the life of the board.  Given said this, no one could state how long your iPhone will work since no one will know for sure where the water had time to infiltrate before you removed your device and no one what's may left there.
Consider yourself lucky.  I don't understand however what you mean by a sensor triggered.

Hi I dropped my iphone 5 in water last night, it is working but has shadow over the screen how can I get this fixed?

Probably too late to do anything but replace the device at this point.
Once electronics get wet, the best thing to do is turn it off and put it in silica gels packs or uncooked rice for a minimum of 72hrs.  Only then should the user attempt to power the device on.

Apple offers an out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price, which pays for an exchange at a discounted price off the full retail sales price.

I dropped my iPhone in the water and the touchscreen stopped working. After drying it out for a few days I had the LCD replaced, but the touchscreen is still not working. What do I do?

i dropped my ipod in the pool and put it in rice for three days and the screen just stays white now. what is the cheapest way to fix thiss?

There are companies that specialize in data retrieval but it's costly (probably cheaper to buy a new iPod) and more than likely as Allan said, your circuits are probably damaged beyond all hope of retrieving anything. It's worth calling Apple you maybe able to get a discount or a refurbished iPod. Can't hurt to ask, Good luck. (And in the future... no texting in the john.) Sorry, couldn't resist it.

  • Dropped my iPhone 5S in water, I think it's safe but I'm not 100%, HELP

I dropped my iPhone 5S in the bath for around three seconds, I grabbed it and dryed it off and it seemed to be working normally. I used COOL air to gently dry out the charging and headphone jack just to be safe. About twenty minutes later my phone did not have service in my room and it was charging inconsistently. My phone has never not had service in my room over the last 3 months I've had it. I read a few articles online and immediately turned it off and put it in rice. I checked the water damage indicator around two hours after it had been in the rice and it was not red so I just wanted to know if this meant my iPhone does not have water damage and I'm safe? I still have it in the rice just to be safe.
    Thanks!!

No, it means it is working for now. That is no guarantee that it  will not fail tomorrow or next week. Your chances of an eventual failure just went up.

I just replaced my iPod 5th gen. a week ago, and it was working fine, but when I went to go turn the screen on, it wouldn't turn on. I've tried to put it on the charger and it wouldn't charge and it wont connect to my computer, how do i fix this? I tried to reset the iPod, by pressing the home and power button but nothing works. - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I dropped my iphone 4s in water and now everytime i plug it in it show a charger pointing to a itunes thing i have tryed to recover it but its not working!! what do i doooo?!?!?!

i was at the beach and was washing my shoes off then it fell in the water it was working alright but then it died and will not turn on and keeps showing the same thing i have tried to recover the iphone a couple of times but its saying the same thing.. do i have to go get it repaired if so how much... please help!!!

If you are talking about the warranty from Apple that would have expired when your iPhone hit the water. So it doesn't matter. Just take it to Apple and purchase an out of warranty replacement for it.
