I just purchased a second iPad.  I set it up with my same apple id and password.  How do I change that info.  I want to FaceTime between the two and can't do it with same info.

Just set up my ipad3 using my same apple id and password that I used for my iPad 2.  I want to FaceTime between the two.  Do I need to change one of the iPad settings to do so???

  • HT1206 I just purchased a second ipad, can I have more than one itune account on the same computer? If so how do I set that up?

I just purchased my second ipad and I want to have it under a different apple id. I want to keep it more streamlined for things that I really use and not filled up with a lot of games, pictures and so on. I don't know how to go about setting the itunes account up. So can anyone out there help me with this.
    thanks,
    kathy

I would advise that you not set up a second Apple ID. It's really not necessary - having two Apple IDs won't affect how iTunes works with your iPads - and will just complicate matters. Each iPad will be treated independently and can be set to sync only the items you want on that particular iPad. If you really want to keep the two iPads separate, set up different iTunes libraries and have only those items you want on the related iPad in that library, rather than a different Apple ID. If you plan not to use a computer and just download directly to the iPads, you can again choose what apps and content each iPad gets.
But answering your specific question, you can have content from up to five iTunes Store accounts on any one computer or iPad. To create a new iTunes Store account, you'll need a different email address, and from there you just create the account the same way you did the first one.
    Regards.

Each device needs a separate address. Use an email address (gmail.com) on the iPad.

Yes, its best to have each individual apple ids. You can also go to settings, messages, send and recieve, start new conversation from, make sure there is a check mark beside each of your own individual email, not the same one on each phone.

  • Music spontaneously starts, stops, stutters at random and I'm not even using that app. Repeated attempts to pause the song and close the app have no affect. Just keeps popping on and off randomly no matter what I'm doing at the time.

How do I eliminate this glitch?  Music spontaneously starts, stops, stutters at random and I'm not even using that app. Repeated attempts to pause the song and close the app have no affect. Just keeps popping on and off randomly no matter what I'm doing at the time. I tried double-clicking the Home button which brings up all of the active apps, touched and held the Music icon until all the icons started wiggling, tapped the Close icon in the upper left corner of the Music app to close the app completely, but the app is still open and still randomly stuttering. I did notice that the play button icon flashes in the upper right corner of the screen when this happens and it appears and disappears in concurrence with the Music app stuttering. When the music starts, the icon appears and when it stops, the icon disappears again. When the music stutters on and off, the icon appears and disappears rapidly and in sync with that random glitch. This just started today for no apparent reason. I turned the iPad off, waited 30 seconds and turned it back on. As soon as it was finished starting up, the same music glitch began again immediately. I'm using iOS 6.1.3.

Well, no one seems to have any answers or ideas for me, I'll update what I've been able to accomplish.
I reloaded all 14 disks in the time frame of watching Lord of the Rings on Fri. nite.
Funny thing is, the first disk pulled the info from the online store! Hooray!
Wait-then all the next 13 could find no information online...what the heck is up with that? So I MANUALLY assign each disk a new track # to co-inside with each disk, spent about 2 hours doing that.
But still, itunes tells me my playlist is too large, there's not enough space on the ipod. so I unchecked 1 1/2 disks (I'd listen to 1/2 of disk 1 previously) and voila! there's my ipod full of my book. Finally. But what a lot of bother just to keep things in order!

  • Daughter has used iPad for her Apple account and I can't use the App store because her username automatically shows up in the Apple ID window.  How do I change that?

My daughter has used our iPad for her Apple account and now I can't use the App store because her username automatically shows up in the Apple ID window.  How do I change that so I can put our Apple ID in with the appropriate Password?

    Open Settings -> Store
Tap on the Apple ID shown and sign out. Then sign in with your own Apple ID.
    Update: Oops, AnaMusic was faster...

  • I purchased Linux Pro Magazine, they did some upgrade and I had to restore my purchases on my iPhone which worked.  However, I can't restore my purchases on my iPad when I login I keep getting incorrect Apple ID or password.  How do I fix this?

I have tried logging out of iTunes under Settings and back in but I still can't get it to work with the application.  I sent an email to the application support and received the following email:
    Hi Thomas,
Really sorry about that. This sounds like an issue to do with your
Apple ID on your iPad, and not so much with our Linux Pro app.
If you haven't already, please contact Apple Support:

Yes, I am using the same ID on both devices.  I also logged out of the iTunes application and back in but still get this same message.  "The Apple ID you entered couldn't be found or your password was incorrect.  Plese try again."
I have another subscription with Admin Magazine that appears to use the same interface and it was able to restore my purchases.

  • I have a MacBook air with OS X version 10.8.2 and an HP OfficeJet G85. Is there any way to print between the two?

I am aware that the HP OfficeJet G85 is no longer supported but are there any apps or anything that I can download that would make them compatible?

    Hi,
Indeed the printer is not compatible but you may be able to find some workarounds:
For printing try the HPIJS print drivers, be sure to install any of the 3 required downloads prior following the printer set up instructions:
    http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosxhpijs
For scanning try Vuescan which seems to support your printer:

  • Can I FaceTime Between My Two iPads?

I have two iPads synced to my computer, my Apple ID.  My wife has one and I have the other. How can I FaceTime between the two?  I have two different emails I can use, but when I try to connect with the caller ID  for one email calling the other, it says I'm busy. Could there be a problem because they both use the same Apple ID?

If you add another email address as the "contact at" email address on one of the devices - you still have to remove the Apple ID email address on that device or FaceTime will still try to contact you using that email address.
After you add the new email address and it has been verified - go to the "you can be reached for FacetIme at" setting and put a check mark next to the new email address that you just added to FacetIme in order to select it as the "contact at" email address, then tap the blue arrow next to the Apple ID email address and you can delete it in the next window.
You can also simply remove the check mark in front of the Apple ID email address as well after selecting the new email address. You don't actually have to delete it.

  • HT201493 I have 2 iphones on the same apple id/itunes account, how do I give them different IDs?

I have 2 iphones (mine & my wife's) on the same apple id/itunes account, how do I give them different IDs?

I am having the same issue.
There is no possible way Apple didn't think this the whole way thru!
Why in the world would I want to create an new Apple ID for everyone in my family & over complicate things?!?  "Face Time" and "Messages" can tie several devices to on Apple ID driven by contact email or phone number.  I am hard pressed to believe that Find my Friends can't be set up in a similar format.
Please help because this is frustrating me to the point of smashing an iPhone or 2!!
