I just updated Firefox and it has removed my tab setting and replaced it with pictures of Harry Potter Films. This makes it hard to read and I would like to revert to my original settings. How do I do this?

You may have installed a persona.
You can uninstall your current Persona and revert to the Default theme (Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. Hi, I'm getting spam in my hotmail from Facebook, saying I tagged someone's photo. There were about 20 of the same messages in there. That depends. If it's an email you should never move it. Doing so will corrupt your mailbox folder which could cause you to lose additional email. More importantly, if you have an IMAP account or a POP account where you leave messages on the server it will just be redownloaded the next time you check for email. All email must be deleted from within your email client and if it's a gmail account the only way to permanently delete it is to use webmail in your browser. I had changed my Desktop image earlier but when the "Installing 1 item" window came up it changed back to the back ground that you first see on your desktop after installation.
Leopard installs updates a bit differently. If it's simply an application that does not change system files, it installs them like before, without having to restart. If the update is to the system, then you must immediately "restart," It then goes to that stars and purple screen to perform the installation. Before, it would do the installation while you still had control of the Mac and would prompt you to restart when it finished the installation. This change probably make things more secure and reliable, because you aren't allowed to do other things on the Mac while system updates are being installed.

You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Not sure how that app works, - normally means you have a notification for that app - what happen when you go into the app?

Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
