I keep getting emails for another user; can't seem to contact Apple support about this

Hi there,
I keep receiving emails for someone called Amanda to my email address.  These are not spam emails; it seems like someone called Amanda is signing up to reputable websites using my email address.  So far, Pinterest, Educreations and a women's magazine have sent me emails to confirm my membership.  There doesn't seem to be anything suspect going on: they're all respectable websites, and they're always addressed to Amanda.  I was also receiving confidential emails from a legitimate business with invoices etc. a while back.
I'm confused as to what would be the cause and/or point of this.  It seems like a very benign way to spam/scam somebody.  Is it possible (I feel ridiculous even asking this) that emails can become crossed like telephones?  I know, I know, it's a stupid question.
I'd like to contact Apple Support about this, but I seem to be going round in circles on the website.  Unless I have AppleCare (mine is expired) I can't seem to get in contact with anyone.  Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction?

  • I keep getting emails for iTunes purchases that I have not authorized

    I have received several emails for iTunes purchases that I have NOT authorized.  The name on the Billed To is not my name or address, but it includes my Comcast email address.  I don't know if I am being charged for these purchases through Comcast or not, but these receipts should not be coming to me.  What can i do?

    If the email is asking you to verify your account or in any way provide personal informaton, it's a fake, trying to scam you out of your account information or credit card details. Do not respond to any emails that have a link asking for personal information. Just delete the message.

    You cannot merge apple id's. remember that before creating any new ones in the future.
    You have two choices. Live with it, or repurchase the apps under the id you intend to keep using.

    Hi.
    As per subject, I keep on getting prompted to enter my user credentials whenever I open a mapped drive (which has been mapped before with the same credentials) or when I open the SharePoint site and also when
    I check out and edit a document from SharePoint.
    This is becoming debilitating.
    I have a very lengthy password as per our policy so I'm really despondent to have to enter this password every single time I access SharePoint.
    In the past, I only got prompted once during every session. Now, I get prompted multiple times a day. I will be prompted when I access SharePoint and then 10 seconds later, be prompted AGAIN when I check out and edit a document....WHAT?!
    I keep on selecting the checkbox "remember credentials" but this is to no avail. I've deleted all the credentials in Credential Manager numerous times and added them manually and then again automatically, all to no avail. I've even tried multiple
    entries for example "192.168.1.1" and also "http://192.168.1.1" as well as the FQDN for example "server01". So the same network resource has 3-4 different entries and none work!!
    Whenever I enter my credentials and select that checkbox to remember them, I can see in Credential Manager that the respective entries gets updated but what's the point if they are never utilized?
    I've also checked the services and changed the Credential Manager to start automatically without delay.
    I have appealed for help elsewhere (WindowsForums, SpiceWorks, TechRepublic) but no one seems to have any definitive answers or solutions. I've been having this issue for YEARS now but want to do something about it now as it's becoming debilitating.
    Please help!

    What does "upgraded my iPhone" mean?  Does it mean you purchased a new iPhone?  Does it mean upgraded iOS?
    If you purchased a new iPhone, was it previously owned?

    Since the first few weeks of getting my iMac, I've been trying to contact Apple support through this webpage but it fails every time. I'm using Safari and sometimes I've gotten one step further but that is it. I have been trying at different times always on this computer and always with Safari. I tried again today (after two months), and I'm becoming a little frustrated to say the least. I still can not access support. That is quite amazing to me. I have attached a photo of how the web page looks like. What is wrong?

    I tried with Chrome on Windows 8. Same result. Finally I managed to contact support on my iPhone.

  • HT5527 I've paid for iCloud storage, but keep getting emails saying my storage will be unavailable if I don't upgrade.

    I have paid $40 a year for the additional storage, but I keep getting emails telling me that on September 30th my storage will go back to the 5G unless I upgrade.  Is there another step I need to take?

    When you purchased the additional storage it over-rode and cancelled the free storage you got as a result of having been a MobileMe subscriber. You are getting these automated emails because 'the right hand knoweth not what the left hand doeth' (Ecclesiastes 11:1) - just ignore them. They will stop in another week.

    The only ways I know of for email to get sent to an account are:
    1. It was addressed to that account. Someone used that email address to send you the email.
    2. It was forwarded to that account by the account to which it had been addressed. I am not aware of Mail having this feature but it is often a feature provided by your ISP that you can turn on by logging into your account via the Internet and setting it up.  I assume you have not done this, though.
    With several email addresses in the same Mail client, you have to be careful which one you are sending from. If you send from the wrong address, any replies will come back to that same address. I make this mistake all too often.

    Enter the correct password in the account under Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.

    I understand that you are receiving repeated prompts for different “Local Items” keychain passwords and know how frustrating this situation can be. There is a solution to this issue however. Please use the steps and information in the attached article to resolve this issue.

    Try deleting iTunes from your computer. Do not delete your iTunes library. Then download and install a fresh copy if iTunes. Reboot your computer after installation of iTunes.
    Then reboot your phone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
    Reconnect the phone to your computer running iTunes and see if the sync process will go through.

I have opened a similar support case too today, they does not know what to do and they will speak with some engineer, but now that I have found this post...I think we just have to wait for a new minor release...anyway our devices (2 and the new if cellular) must be supported http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4970
