The Mid 2011 Mac mini supports 8 GB of memory officially, but you can install up to 16 GB of RAM, so you can use 2, 4 and 8 GB modules. You can buy more RAM from OWC or Crucial.

If you have to wonder which RAM is the correct type, you probably aren't buying from a store that will give you the right RAM. Many stores specify model and vintage of Mac on their website to ensure you get the right RAM. Check my FAQ*:

I tried to use Apple Pay at the 1280 Lexington Ave store in NY but was asked for the last 4 digits of my cardnumber and it never worked. The question itself made no sense but I tried in vain by supplying it as well as the security code. I didn't know the last 4 of my proxy card number.
Open Passbook, select the credit card you are using, touch the Info icon on the lower right. This will display the last four digits of the ‘Device Account Number’. These four digits are what your retailer wants to complete the transaction, NOT the last four digits of your card number. Some retailers require this, others do not.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and do the sync again and if it is working now. -
Dv5-1225, id like to install some new ram, but before i buy any, will new bios take ddr3?
I have a dv5-1225ca laptop, and im looking to upgrade the ram, however, i have been through many resources and nothing firmly states this laptop will not accept ddr3 ram, however the ram that came with the laptop is ddr2. ddr2 ram is well over twice the price now adays since it isnt developed much since the new age is nearly compleetly dominated by ddr3 so i dont suspect the price will come down soon, im just curious if i was to replace booth sims with ddr3 with the most current bios update will i be fine, id rather not pay for the higher price untill i have tracked down an answer, and im not going to pay for ddr3 ram just to settle my curiosity incase it dosnt work

DDR3 memory won't work in a system board with DDR2 memory slots.
The memory is not compatible and to stop folks from installing the wrong DDR rated memory, they cut the slots in different locations.
So, if you want to upgrade the memory in your machine you will need to stick with DDR2 memory modules.
Use the Crucial memory scanner to determine what kind of memory you need.
I can't find any specifics. I think DDR2 PC2-6400 and your product specs page states you can install up to 8 GB with a 64 bit OS.

There may be free versions out ther, but you are going to have to do the leg work, nobody is going to do your work for you. You know about runtime.exec(), you know about JNI, now do a search. -

No, to restore, you need to turn off Find My iPhone and to do so you need the Apple ID & password.
It's the Activation Lock that prevents thief wiping the iPhone for reuse.
Take the iPhone from her and if you have the receipt (not from 3rd parties shops), call Apple Care and see if they can help. -
HI guys, I hope you can help or at least give a point in the right direction.I'm a freelance photographer using much of the Adobe CS6 creative suite. After a disaster of a week I came home to find that the mother board on my editing workstation somehow is fried. I have no idea what happened though i wouldn't put it past my roommates carelessness.
I'm desperate. I need to finish my current job before I am able to afford to buy a replacement. So I am forced to rely on stopgap measures, out of desperation to finish my project, which are less than ideal, but so far are faring better than I'd hoped.
Im a photographer, Capture One, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro are the go to workhorse applications i need to work. without them i have no income. in order to have this machine run these apps,
the machine i have left is an old hp 550 which was gathering dust in the closet. It was built for 32 bit Win XP and in no way is intended to run the power hog adobe products I use, especially Lightroom.
Unfortunately Lightroom PS, and Premiere are 64 bit programs and LR and Premiere are hyper threaded. so I did research, and with the help of the windows 7 upgrade adviser utility's list of instructions I was able to get windows 7 Pro 64 bit to install and run.
I know this isnt the ideal machine or situation but for a few weeks, i need to make it work.
I really just have 2 simple questions. I had first gone to HP tech support. but they were not helpful. since the Laptop's warranty is long gone, they wouldnt even be polite and basically told me to shove off. Then on another forum, I argued back and forth with a know it all who consistently insisted that there was no way no how this pc could run 64 bit win 7, to which i thought what am i seeing things? its been running fine for 3 months. so i decided to come to you. your forums have been helpful on many occassions.
basically I need this machine to be able to run these programs for the next month or so, until i can purchase a new machine.
essentially, what I would like to know is will the motherboard support an upgrade of the processor? and if it will, what would you suggest as a replacement, considering my needs? The Core 2 duo is the barest minimum of what i can limp along with as photo/video rendering times are excessively slow.
next I was talking to the crucial tech support staff about memory upgrades. and possibly tweaking the bios to force it to run 8 gigs of ram. they said they cold find no version of bios that would make that possible, but that by already forcing it to run 64 bit, that already allowed the pc to utilize the full 4 gigs of ram, which had been impossible in the 32 bit format. He then suggested that i buy 2 4 gig modules such as 4GB DDR2 PC2-5300 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.8V 512Meg x 64 which can be seen at http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/memory/ct51264ac667 and try installing the full 8 gigs and see what would happened, saying he had a feeling i could get lucky. his logic being that the 64 bit system already opened up the ram limitations and who knows, you cant make an omelette without cracking some egg shells! he seemed very optimistic. So what do you think? does this seem likely to you because i would love it to work. or do you think the guy was a quack? and this whole endeaver is a waste of time and money?
also any other suggestions about how to weather this month long storm that dont involve suggestions of buying new machines would be appreciated!

Unfortunately the maximum configuration is a T5670 processor 1.8 ghz and 4 gigs of DDR2-667 memory which you already have. The CPU includes the 64 bit instruction set so it is not surprising it can run 64 bit Windows 7. My best advice is to save your money for when you can get a real working machine. The only other upgrade likely to help at all is a solid state drive, which you could use in the laptop and then also use in the new computer you are going to buy.

After upgrading to OS X Mavericks syslogd needs lot of memory and cpu, system is very slow
After upgrading to OS X Mavericks the system is very slow. securityd and syslogd are using 50% of cpu and memory is also used by syslogd and kerneltask (8 GB out of 12). After rebooting the system it runs very well, a view days later (without reboot, only hibernating) the situation is the same.
Looks like a problem in OS X. Any solutions?I haven't worked out the LDAP messages but I noticed at other times I was seeing lots of album art messages from BlackBerry desktop. I'd already uninstalled the app but it still had processes running. Help needed upgrading from 4.1 to 6.2 for transfer to new Pre
I have a Sony Clie PEG-SJ22 that I sync on two computers using Palm Desktop 4.1.0 on each. The version on the computer in front of me lives in D:\Program Files\Sony Handheld. I just bought a Palm Pre and learned that in order to sync my data to it, I would have to first upgrade to Palm Desktop 6.2. I downloaded the 6.2 installation file and ran it. It recognized that Palm Desktop was already installed and prompted me to click "Yes" to upgrade it which I did. However the installation froze with the progress bar about 3/4 of the way through. I End-Tasked the installation, but now I can't run either the new version or the old one. (In fact the new version seems to have disappeared from \Program Files.) When I try to run the old version I get error messages about missing dll files. Before I try re-installing (or anything else) what should I do to make this go properly? Is there a problem because my old version of Palm Desktop was a Sony-Clie-branded version? Or is it something else?

Having trouble with 3 of my long time apps. When upgraded these apps won't load. They sit at waiting and won't go any further . I am frustrated because Iaid for these apps and now they don't work
What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
