I'm sick of it all (MOD HELP ME)

I'm not the account holder, my mum is but she don't use internet as she is blind.
She as phoned up a few times about the fact we don't get the speed we can get.
We are only getting about 3.80mb when on BT website it says we can get 5.5MB. We have phones up so many times but every time they just say that we can only get what our line can cope with.
So if this ain't fixed, I'm going to ask mum to move to a diffrent provider. It's like BT think cuz she blind that it don't matter.
So, mod reply to this! I'm **bleep**ing sick of BT!

I have the latest version of iTunes. Windows has all the most recent updates too. I can reset the iPod, but the message to Use iTunes to restore comes back and I am stuck.

Already tried another USB port, still nothing.
I don't have another PC to check, I only have one which is the one not working with my iPod.
It appears under my Computer, just not under iTunes. Plus, the iPod classic troubleshooting assistant doesn't work because I can't restore since it can't come up onto my iTunes! Even my iPod says "Use iTunes to Restore" once in a while, but I plug it in & I'm not able to restore it since it won't come up under iTunes.

World of Warcraft: Once and for all. HELP!

I have been having the issue below since the first expansion (Burning Crusade). I have been back and forth between these forums, Blizzard forums, telephone support and email support to no avail.
The issue is as follows: During the game for no apparent reason the entire computer locks up. Sometimes I can still hear sound, sometimes not at all. The only way to do anything is to hold the power button down until it shuts off. Many times after powering down and back up, the game lock up right at the login, sometimes at the character selection or right when I enter the world.
The only temporary resolution (albeit unacceptable) was to delete the Cache and *** folders from the WoW folder. This seemed to work as an immediate fix until the problem happened again. Now it seems with the latest patches and the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, this temporary fix doesn't even work. I even went so far as reinstaling my entire operating system.
Every time I have removed the folders indicated above I have also repaired disk permissions in Disk Utilities and even removed any instance of "blizzard" or "warcraft" from the ~/library/preferences folder as instructed by blizzard.
This is just speculation but I've noticed that the computer locks up when I swing the character's view around too quickly (holding the right mouse button and turning fast). Also, this last time the problem showed itself after adjusting the graphics in the game and being asked to restart it for the changes to take effect. Note that this the ONLY time I have ever set the graphics in settings so all of my previous encounters with the problem have nothing to do with that.
The problem only happens when playing The World of Warcraft. There have been many threads in blizzard with people complaining about the same problem. I'm at my wits end. Currently the came is vanilla (no mods or adjustments to any of the settings) and the game locks up as soon as I enter the world.

In regards to your comments first:
1) I've taken care of the heat issues years ago when I first realized how hot the machine was getting. I purchased a Rain iLAP aluminum pad. Right now the machine is encoding some video recorded off TV and smcFanControl reads that the temp is 90 deg C. The addition of smc is very recent. When I first got it, I set it to 4000 RPM when running WoW. The crash still happened. After that, however, I lowered all of the graphic settings to minimum in WoW and that seems to have cleared the problem up. I recently raised it to a step above the lowest quality and it is still OK.
2) You say investigate the video cards adequacy? How? I'm running on an ATI Radeonx1600 w/ 256 MB of VRAM.
3) What kind of latency? You mean in-game latency?
4) I have 2GB of RAM. How do I know if it is high quality or not. In the System Profiler it shows two 1GB slots both reading Type: DDR2 SDRAM / Speed: 667 Mhz / Status: OK
5) My internet connection is cable using Optimum Online (Cablevision). Normally I'm running on a Linksys wi-fi router, but the problem occured even when I connected and the machine to an RJ-45 cable.
6) I removed all mods and moved all the appropriate folders and the problem was still happening before lowering the graphic settings.
Some new questions:
1) If I had no heat dissipation techniques what would Apple tell me is the optimal temperature that the machine should be running at to avoid damaging it?
2) At what RPM does lowering temp with higher RPMs in smcFanControl become a risk to the integrity of the physical fans?
3) In the past, putting WoW in windowed mode would oftentimes cause the problem to occur immediately. I can't recall if this was after the game was running and the temp would have been higher, but does putting the game into windowed mode cause the comp to crash due to high temps?

.MOD Help

I'm not sure that FCP X is the answer, but I figured the help I may get hear would be the best. My friend has a Panasonic SDR-H40P camcorder with a ton of footage that he wants to edit in iMovie. The files are all .MOD files, which I thought were an audio file with a MPEG-2 package.
Nothing I own will reconize these files. I would love to convert these all as a batch to something else, but no program I own will reconize these. I've tried iMovie, FCP X, Quicktime X, VLC player, Flip4Mac and MPEGstreamclip. MPEGSTREAMCLIP stated I needed to purchase the MPEG-2 add on, which I did for him, but I couldn't even load it onto my machine with Mountain Lion. The Apple website does state it's noted needed as Quicktime X will play these.
I got Quicktime X to play these only when I changed the file extention to .mpg, but than I have to import each individual file and export each file to a .MOV file.
With 40 Gigs worth of files this will be a test in patience.
It seams like there should be an easier way, hence the reason for this post!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

MPEG Streamclip will do what you need. I have some experience with .MOD files, Streamclip made working with them possible, but there is added difficulty since Lion. I have taken a screen shot from the Squared5 website that tells you what you need to do to get the MPEG-2 add-on to install so Streamclip can use it. Used this process a while ago with Lion and it worked, have not tried it with Mountain Lion.

If you're phone is in recovery mode, then all your data is already wiped off. you'll need to proceed if you want to use your phone.
However after it is done recovering, you can restore back from your backp.
You do backup on a regular basis right?

Try
Reboot the computer, see if that fixes it.
Then try:
Backup your files off the computer (not TimeMachine) and disconnect
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk and simply reinstalling OS X
Log in and update to 10.6.8
c boot off the 10.6 disk again and use Disk Utility >Repair Disk
reboot and all should be fine, except some third party programs that install kext files, those will have to be reinstalled from fresh sources.

See if your Mac will boot from the install DVD.
Then uninstall Internet Cleanup.

Just wait a bit. Turn it off, then back on.
I don't know why, but after the update it doesn't show up right away.

PowerPC G5 iMac only booting up in Safe-mode - Help!

In July of 2005, I purchased my PowerPC G5 20" iMac, 2.0GHz, +260 GB harddrive and 2 GB of DDR SDRAM. It has been running so great that I even upgraded to Leopard OS 10.5.6 in June of 2011.
However in Nov. 2011, the computer would freeze upon start-up, and I would have to hold the power button to shut it down. After waiting a minute I would start it up and the OS came up ok. But each week I had to shut it down and restart a few times before it booted up ok. I ran the OS Disk Utility to repair permissions and it did not seem to make a difference. I also ran MacTuneUp 3.6.0 (purchased it in 2010), and there was also no difference.
Now I can ONLY boot into Safe-mode - Help!!!

Discovered something new!
I left my iPhone connected to the iMac, and when starting up the computer the iPhone started charging. When the screen froze (light blue shade, not black screen), the iPhone stopped charging. (no charge?).
BTW....my mouse always moves when in frozen state.
I also tried starting up (c-key) using OS 10.5.6 CD and computer also froze in light-blue screen. The computer tried to access the CD but then gave up. After leaving the computer for awhile the screen power saving mode was on (screen was black). When I moved the mouse the screen changed from black to light-blue screen. Boot CD did not work. No keyboard commands work. Only holding the power button will shut down the computer.

PS I'm still new to Macs so the more broken down the better.

Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.42 is the most recent version from Adobe. It is a pre-release version. I am using it without any noticeable problems.
The current stable version is Download 11.7.700.169.
