I'm trying to build a project that's historically been built in Labview 10.

I'm taking over a work project that's been previously written and built in Labview 10. I've started with and am getting my feet wet in Labview 2014 SP1. The vi runs just fine, but building it for an executable seems to crash. Namely, this report:

Version: 14.0.1 (32-bit)
Possible Cause: C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2014\vi.lib\AppBuilder\Engine\AB_Engine_Disconnect_Typedefs.vi
I'm not sure if this is a old revision not playing nice with a newer compiler issue, or if I've neglected something in my setup. Any advice for me? I'm happy to post code, but it's a 160 MB project. Is that too large to throw up here?

I would wager that a large majority of LabVIEW users are running 32-bit LabVIEW on 64-bit Windows 7 (or 8.x). The "issue" seems to come when you try to run 64-bit LabVIEW ...
If you put it on a Google Drive, you'll need to either post how to get it, or if you have any concerns about pointing the Forum to your Drive, you could send a Private Message to selected Forum Members saying "Could you please take a look at this and suggest why I can't build it using LabVIEW 2014 SP1?".

"Stream not Initialized" message when trying to build Encore project.

I have been using Adobe Encore CS6 for a while now, using three video camera models.
9 times out of 10 I have no problems making my DVDs, yet every so often, the video clips will have audio and video of different lengths.
Whenever this happens, if I try to build the project, I get an error message pop up stating "Stream not initialized".
I can adjust the clips so that the audio and video are the same length, thus eliminating the tiny, often two frame gap in the timeline, but this only fixes the problem some times.
Today it isn't fixing the problem at all.
I've tried transcoding the clips, even though they are in DVD format directly from the camera, yet still get the same error message.
Any help with this issue would be a god send as it is starting to drive me potty!

Thanks for the taking the time to respond. Nothing suggested works.
You suggested: build an image of your author or build the DVD in your HD?
I tried both and still get "Program Quits" window, with Encore shutting down without any error message.
You suggested: disk problem.
I tried different Sony, and then Verbatim disks. Same problem.
Additional Project Info:
Time Line: 1:18:07
Preferences: Playback Quality: Automatic.
Disc Info: free space thermometer: Blue all the way across.
4.7 GB Used. 3.309 MB free.
Same problem also exists with Premier Pro CS4. PPr will just quit for no reason that is detectable/No error message. I do frequent saves so have not lost anything in PPr, just have to restart program. The problem with PPr is not consistant, whereas with Encore it happens every time when attempting to "Build". I suspect fault is within Encore/PPr and Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit and latest updates from Microsoft. Both programs ran without problems before. By the way. I tried to update PPr & Encore, and I could not, as I have latest versions.
By the way....You are writing from Italy? Where? My grandparents came to New York from Italy around 1907.

IDVD won't open after trying to open a project that had missing links

I hope I can explain this correctly.
I created a DVD using iDVD last week, it had many short movies on it in different menus plus some photos in the menu areas. After I created the DVD & burned it, I moved the videos (plus a ton of other clips from the same year) to an external HD, as they were taking up tons of space on my hard drive.
Today I opened iDVD hoping to create a 2nd DVD project for a different year of clips. I had started to set up this DVD a few days back & saved it. When I clicked "open existing project", I found the projects but mistakenly clicked on the one that I had already burned. It acknowledged that it couldn't find the videos (since they're on an external HD that was not hooked up) and showed them all as broken links. Fine.
I tried to open the correct project, at which point iDVD froze & I had to force quit.
Since then, every time I try to open iDVD from Applications, I get a window asking where to look for the photos from the original one I opened, not the usual "create new project/open existing project" window. If I hit cancel in this window, everything disappears but the iDVD icon remains in the dock, but I can't open anything or do anything with it & have to force quit. If I try to do "find file", it just starts to search. Either way the whole program freezes up & I can't do anything with it.
Also, the iDVD menu will be at the top of the screen during this but I can't click to open anything else. As soon as I click elsewhere on the screen, the iDVD menu disappears, the icon is still on the dock, it won't do anything again & I have to force quit yet again(and get a message that iDVD quit while unresponsive).
I'm going to try shutting down & restarting but anyone know anything about this?

Try the following:
1 - delete the iDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iDVD/s cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD folder.

Trying to build a system that limits the user to one program.

I work in a tinkering space for a children's museum in the United States, in this space we have a different project every month. I've been working on a month during which we would focus on programming logic. This will encompass real world examples of programming logic through a number of different exhibits we're developing as well as give the kids access to a computer to reinforce the logic they've learned in the other exhibits. In high school I was introduced to Alice, and I think it's a wonderful tool that guides kids into programming without making them trip over syntax errors.
My goal is to have a couple of Linux stations set up for the older kids to tinker with Alice, however I don't want them to be able to access any other programs, or to easily close out of the program. I would also like to let them save files they've worked on to a flash drive, but that would be done with my help. Also, once the computers are set up, they won't have internet access (the desktops that were donated to us don't have WiFi access).
I have a reasonable amount of experience with Linux but this is something I've never done before, so I'm looking for guidance and suggestions. What programs and utilities should I look at to begin accomplishing this? Is there a specific window manager that would be best for this (my default choice is Openbox unless a better alternative exists for what I'm trying to do)? I just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Smart export/import - unable to import project that uses 'xml' technology

Hello,
I have smart exported project and this project uses technology 'XML'. When I'm trying to import it, there are following issues (screen) - no fix available to choose:

So, it seems technology 'XML' is not recognized during import, because it has different ID. On repository I'm trying to import to, XML has ID 27999. So, I manually edited SmartExport.xml file and changed all occurences of 1189 to correct ID: 27999 and tried again to import. After this change, there are no issues. But just after I start import, following error message is thrown and import fails:

The same issue when I'm trying to import any project that uses any not built-in technology. After importing technology on destination server, ID doesn't match. And if I change ID in SmartExport.xml, no issues but import fails due to error similar as above.
So, what is the correct way to perform succesfull import/export in this cases and how to fix "dirrerent origin" errors? Do you have any idea?

PS - have found other posts indicating that clips smaller than 2s or sometimes 5s, or "short files" can cause this. Modern style editing often uses short takes ! Good grief I cannot believe Apple. Well I deleted a half a dozen short sections and can export, but now of course the video is a ruined piiece of junk and I need to re-do the whole thing, the sound etc. which is basically taking as much time as the original. And each time I re-do it I risk again this lovely error -50 and again trying to figure out what thing bugs it via trial and error instead of a REASONABLE ERROR MESSAGE POINTING TO THE CLIP IT CAN'T PROCESS. What a mess. I HATE this iMovie application - full of BUGS BUGS BUGS which Apple will not fix obviously, since I had this product for a few years and see just hundreds of hits on Google about this error with disappointed users. Such junk I cannot believe I paid money for it and Apple does not support it with fixes !!!
If anyone knows of a GOOD reasonably priced video editing program NOT from APPLE I am still looking for suggestions. I want to do more video in future, but obviously NOT with iMovie !!!

But before I'm going to use it I have some questions.
I know it is possible to run Labview 2010 in an XP environment. But is it also possible to, when running Labview 2010 on a XP system, to build a project to a version that is useful in a Windows 7 environment?
Or do I have to run Labview 2010, when I want to build a project that is useful on a Windows 7 system, on a system with Windows 7?
Please give me some information.

I'm trying to build my project, but it throws the following error:
The project was not built since its classpath is incomplete. Cannot find the class file for com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDController. Fix the classpath then try rebuilding this project.
and also this other error:
This compilation unit indirectly references the missing type com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDController (typically some required class file is referencing a type outside the classpath)
These errors will not let me build my project

Hi,
Right click on the project, Repair-> Project Structure and Classpath.
Before that see if there are any jar files marked with warning in Jav Build Path-> Libraries. If yes, remove those jar files and then repair classpath.

1)Expose the JAR file in two separate public parts, one with purpose assembly (1) and another one with purpose compilation (2).
2)Use the public part with purpose compilation in the Web Dynpro "client" development component

   I have build a lot of DVD projects in Encore and they've come out fine. But I often get a window that says Encore has a hardware error.
       The window that comes up says 'Encore was unable to complete the operation because of a hardware error (Sense Code 37303). Please contact the hardware manufacturer for more infomation.'
      When I erase my Mac then reintsall all the software it will build the project; that fixes the problem, but it takes too long (about 5 hours). Is there a quicker fix?

-Use the SLOWEST possible burn option your burner will allow in Encore, from 8x to 1x.

Trying to move film project between external firewire drives HELP!

i have a film project that i've been working on and all of the media files and the project file are on one external firewire drive. I want to move the film project to a different, smaller and more transportable firewire drive, however, when i use the media manager to make a copy of the project on the second external drive, when i try to open the new project, it uses only approximate outpoints of the clips in the sequence and all my editting work is pretty much lost. is there a way to preserve my editted outpoints? please help! thanks, jkkjnz

the clips all have names. 01_01 until 01_85 or so and 02_01 until 02_52 or so. when the cop of the project is finishing up, a series of error messages appear which say "an unknown error occured while trying to reconnect clip 02_12 [for example] to the copied file". Then, when i try to reconnect the media from the new project, it says specifically for some clips, "02_09 does not have enough media content to reconnect clip in Sequence 1" and then after a list of similar messages, it says "one or more files did not have enough media to reconnect some clips. some edited clip items have had their outpoints adjusted." grrrr...

Error trying to open a project

I am trying to open a project that was created on the same system I am trying to acces it . But, I keep on getting an error:
This project is unreadable or may be too new for this version of Final Cut.
The thing is that I started this project on the same computer I'm trying to access it from. I tried copying the project file and opening the file on another system and it worked.

Why does InDesign CS5 automatically convert a project that I saved on disc to existing project?

I copied a book project that I've been working on for severl months and then I saved it to another disc drive, changed the fonts and formating for an epub, and then saved it. When I went back to my other disc drive to open the book project, it opened with the formating of the epub. I then tried opening a copy of the book from a CD disc and the same thing happened. InDesign keeps reformating eveything to the epub format. What can I do? This is extreamly fustrating. I was ready to have the book published.

I copied the indb along with its 65 indd files and moved them to a secondary drive. I opend the secondary indb file and made changes to each of the indd files (font styles, page layout, etc.) and then I closed the file. Later, I went back and opened the origional indb file on the main drive and I found that it matched the epub file on the secondary drive. In fact, when I opened a backup CD with the origional indb, it too converted to the epub settings. That's what surprised me the most. To eliminate the problem, I erassed both indb packages. I then copied the backup CD to the main drive and everything is back to normal.The issue for me now is future applications. Will I run into this problem when I'm publishing several books (indb) at the same time on one drive? I need to be comfortable with a solution that solves this problem for future applications and the packaging might work. I still need to convert the print version of the book to epub so I'll try the packaging solution this weekend, when I have more time.

PS: I have not been packaging the files. I've been printing them directly to ps and from there to a pdf file and it preflights just fine in Acrobat.
