I'm trying to interpolate 8 sensor readings in a foot shaped graph.

hi,
i am trying to use interpolation of 8 different sensor readings and graph the results in a foot shaped graph.  i am not sure how to do that in labview.  help!!!

Ok,
I assume you want something like a map (2D) with the color to be the information, is that it ?
About interpolation, well you have many way to interpolate, the appropriate way will depend of the data type you have ; is that a 1D or 2D array ? what kind of interpolation you want ? Linear between 2 points, a spline interpolation ?...
A couple of years ago I made a VI to do "2D spline interpolation", I had  a 2D map of temperature values and wanted to visualize a nice interpolated color map. If you are interested in this I'll try to dig it out.
You can also find the attached example on the "example code" part of the forums
Hope this helps.

  • X4600 M2 ILOM does not display sensor readings/indicators

As above. I had nicely running ILOM which was capable of displaying sensor readings and few other things from BMC. As I had other problems with this machine I upgraded both ILOM and BIOS to the latest available, which would be ilom.X4600M2-2.0.2.5-r29771-bios87.ima file (firmware version 2.0.2.5 and BIOS version 87). From that point web pages for sensor readings/indicators are empty, i.e. no single record there. No single file was changed on the server. Any ideas what can be missing here?

Never mind, it appeared as magicaly as it disappeared after two days. And nothing, literaly nothing was changed on the way.

  • Trying to sample a sensor voltage and record location (with delay)

    Hi all,
Wondering if someone could help me here, i'm still quite a Labview novice... Basically I have a sub vi which I created that is feeding in analogue sensor values into my main vi in parallel with another sub vi, which is feeding in gps location in a combined latitude and longitude string. What I am looking to do is to record the locations in a visible array on the front panel when the acceleration is over a set amount (1g).
The issue I have is that I only wish to take down one location string for each time the acceleration is exceeded, so I would like to implement some sort of delay so that when the acceleration increases beyond 1g, the location is recorded and then the program waits for a given time before taking the next location (I only want one location recorded per event). But I cannot work out how to do this. The only way I can think of achieving it will give me several position values each time the acceleration passes the limit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Ok, sorry about that. I have attached the vi and hopefully you will understand what is going on. Essentially the while loop to the right hand side is what I have been given and the part I have worked on is in the left hand while loop. So I have the latitude and longitude string which is called "concatenated string" and my accelerometer readings come from the sub vi called Accelerometer. I currently have boolean greater than set for if>1.
The really hard part that I am struggling with is getting the latitude and longitude string to write accross to the array on the right hand while loop called "Marker location array" as a new indexed value and to do this only when the acceleration is above my set value.
Thanks again for any help and hopefully I have uploaded it properly!

  • PCB Vibration sensor readings

    Good day all,
Kindly assist on this. I have a PCI 6221 and a connector block BNC 2110. I am using a PCB accelerometer to acquire signal from a modeled building with the aim of getting the frequency components  from the time response after exciting the building at a specific constant frequency. The problem is I kept noticing that I cannot select acceleration with PCI 6221 so I selected voltage in DAQ. The time response seems okay but the FFT is totally not worth it. I presume I should get my specific frequency back since this if forced excitation but this is not happening.
    My question are
    1) Since PCB accelerometer are supposed to be given a little voltage of 4A to get them started, can I use PCI-6221 the way I am using it and still acquired signal from my building which can be presumed normal.(I mean okay)
    2) Is it right for me to select voltage in DAQ instead of accelerometer using PCB accelerometer when the aim is to acquire acceleration values or let me put it this way :if I cannot get a card that can read acceleration can I still used the voltage in DAQ since the PCB ICP accelerometer gives out voltage values. Please which is the right way.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

With a 6221 you can't read a ICP(IEPE) sensor directly. The sensor need a constant exitation current between 2mA and 20mA to provide a voltage output of XXXmV/ms² plus an offset of about 10V.
    Solutions:
    Use a signalconditioner like
    http://www.pcb.com/spec_sheet.asp?model=482A21&item_id=12217
    or
    http://www.pcb.com/spec_sheet.asp?model=480C02&item_id=12061
the boxes will supply the sensor with appropriate power and have a AC signal output that fit to your 6221 (Basically the same circuit I noted above, with housing , connectors and power indicators etc)
or switch to a NI Card that can be used directly with such type of sensor (IEPE) like the USB-4431
Depending on your measuring task there might be other cards from NI that better fits your needs, just give them a call ...

  • Combining 2 readings into a waveform chart/graph displaying continuous readings of data from different sources

    Hi,
    In the file
(Serial Read and Write to .tdms & Compare on Graph – test.vi) I am trying
to integrate the following two waveforms into a single waveform: Realtime
reading and Waveform chart (open vi to see). Both of them display speed vs time
but from different outputs. One comes from an excel file (Teraterm – Results.xlsx
    – sheet 4, (column 3:row 4) to (column 3:row 1878)) and the other comes from
the Serial input which is in Hex format and is split to get the various readings
of speed, voltage etc. I have already wired speed to a variety of waveform
outputs, but all result in broken wires.
The readings are taken in by the program
and but I am unable to wire the two readings together into one graph.
Please do let me know as to how can I make this work.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Dear GerdW,
I'm sorry again about the misspelling your nick.
I tried connecting a waveform chart to the two terminals (speed from the DAQ and speed from the excel file) but I was unable to get the connection right. I understand that charts are used for readings which are equally spaced out, whereas XY graphs are used when the readings are not be spaced out uniformly. But I am unable to wire the connections correctly.
Actually the DAQ device continuously sends out data through the serial port. So I would not run out of data . Are you referring to the data coming from the DAQ device or the excel file? I actually have not thought of what would happen when the excel file would run out of values I am just hoping for the software to run till then for now
I have cleared up the wires as well Thanks for your help.

  • Trying to wrap a vector image around a tube shaped vector object

What would be the best way to approach this? There are so many options, looking for the one that looks best.
It's a grid pattern around an ice cream cone.
    Illustrator CS4.

Turn the artwork you want wrapped around the shape into a symbol (just drag onto Symbols panel). Draw a right triangle with the right angle at the top and the non-hypoteneus sides at the top and one side, then go to Effect > 3D > Revolve…
Click on Map Art, then chose the correct surface and apply the symbol. Rotate and scale as desired.

  • Do you need to use async with sensor values to be able to use them in another method?

I have this code but when button click event is triggered sensor data stops being up dated. I would like the rotation to be constantly displayed.
            public void OnSensorChanged (SensorEvent e)
                if (e != null)
                    rotationEditText.Text = e.Values [2].ToString("0.0");
public void button_OnClick (object sender, EventArgs eventArgs)
                 Thread.Sleep(5000);

I have two tasks that I'm trying to accomplish,
Calibrate Button click event reads phone orientation, waits one second, reads phone orientation, waits one second and then reads the phones orientation for a third time. In this event it will only record the orientation if the readings are within a percentage
range. This is to ensure the phone is stationary and recorded orientation is very accurate.
Recording Button click event is a lap timing method where the accelerometer and orientation readings will be recorded with the lap times.
In both cases the sensor readings need to be accessible in another method.
I tried changing the public void OnSensorChanged(SensorEvent e) to async but then it through an error saying there was no OnSensorChanged event.

  • Take readings from Lakeshore 336 T controller through VISA TCPIP, but very slow

I connected a Lakeshore 336 Temperature controller to a PC ethernet card by using a normal RJ45 cable.
The VISA resource name is set as "tcpip::192.168.0.12::7777::socket". But the readings is very slow. It takes about 2 seconds for reading one sensor data. But the manual says "10 readings/second".
I tried both Lakeshore 336 Temperature controller and PC connected to a router, but the same slow speed.
How can I get reading as fast as GPIB interface using Ethernet port?
    Thanks.
    LV2013SP1@Win7Pro

Attached are the snapshots of the front panel and block diagram (with 2 probes) of the VI reading LS336 sensor.
There are 2 probes inserted. One is right after VISA Write, which shows no error; the other one is right after VISA Read, which shows error. But strangely,  the VI still acquires the sensor readings correctly even the error occurs.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Where to add 2 temp sensors?

My Antec P160 case has 2 temperature sensor probes that I can mount. Should I mount them as redundant sensors, perhaps for the CPU & GPU? Or would there be any value in trying to mount them on my 2 memory DIMMs, which have heat spreaders? Any suggestions?

Thanks for the excellent recommendations. I was a little nervous about trying to mount a sensor to monitor the nForce chip, which would have required applying tape across components on the motherboard. So I took the easy way out & mounted one sensor on the side of the XP-90 heatsink, with the tip as close to the CPU as possible, & the other sensor on the heatsink mounting backplate on the back side of the 6800GT. Both sensors stay around 30-31o C with the case closed, at idle. You can compare that to the readings I get in Speedfan & Everest (see screenshot).
I have no idea what Speedfan is reporting as Temp1 (ACPI chip, ISA Bus, Address $0). Any ideas?

  • IMac 21.5 (late 2009 ) supports GPU Sensor Monitoring?

I've had this question up on the Intel Mac forum for a number of days now without being able to resolve this issue. I'm posting it here on the chance someone who hasn't visited that forum may come along who may be experiencing this.
I'm trying to determine if this computer doesn't support GPU monitoring for the Nvidea GeForce 9400 (I think it probably does for the ATI Radeon card), or if I have a defective sensor. I've reset the SMC to no effect and run the Hardware Test, which found no problems.
I'd really appreciate knowing if anyone who has an iMac 21.5 or 27 (late 2009, i.e. not the models just released), or any other model with this graphics chipset, and running a program that reads data from the sensors, such as Hardware Monitor (or Temperature Monitor), iStat Menus (or Pro) or anything similar, is not (or is) getting any sensor readings for the GPU.
(I've been in touch with the developer of Hardware Monitor who was not able to answer this question definitively.) Thanks.

    Last try.
I'd really appreciate knowing if anyone who has a late 2009 iMac 21.5 or 27... is not (or is) getting any (temperature or load) readings for the GPU / Graphics Card (Nvidea GeForce 9400.)

  • How to create a type of 'alarm event' based on acquired sensor data and system time?

    Hello all,
I'm fairly new to LabVIEW and have successfully created a VI that reads voltage data from sensors.  Each sensor outputs 2 voltage values and I treat these values as 2 different DBL values.  I'd like to be able to record each voltage value as a base and then compare the subsequent data readings with that base.  Once the base is determined, I'd like a sort of 'variable' set as "TIME" to be recorded at the moment the base voltage is recorded.
The alarm should occur (or anything Boolean set to TRUE I guess) once the continuously read voltage remains within certain limits for about 2 hours.  I know I can compare the system time w/ the "TIME" that the voltage base value was recorded.  If the voltage readings escape those limits, I'd like the voltage base value reset and the TIME set to the corresponding system time again.
I apologize in advance if this I haven't' described my problem well, but if anyone could help me figure out the best way to create this code, I would appreciate it much!
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

ill try to illustrate a couple scenarios:
keep in mind that i dont necessarily want the voltages in these specific ranges, but just a range of +/- 20 mV ... in an above post i refer to a "base" voltage reading, in this case that would be 200 mV for V1 and 400 mV for V2, just because the voltage has shifted to those values for an extended amount of time each (> 2 seconds)
    Scenario 1
    1:00 pm
    Sensor readings
    Voltage 1: 200 mV
    Voltage 2: 400 mV
    between 1:00 and 3:00 pm:
Voltage 1 does not deviate from 180-220 mV range
Voltage 2 does not deviate from 380-420 mV range
at 3:00pm I want an alert/alarm/Boolean to change to 'true'
    Scenario 2
    1:00 pm
    Sensor readings
    Voltage 1: 200 mV
    Voltage 2: 400 mV
    at 1:45 pm:
    Voltage 1: 2 mV
    Voltage 2: 600 mV
Since the voltage has shifted out of the range, i want the new base voltage to equal whatever it changed to out of the range, and also the time spent within the new range (2 +/- 20 mV and 600 +/- 20 mV, respectively for V1 and V2) would be reset, so a new 2-hour counter would begin

  • Composite sensor problem

    Hi all,
at work we are facing with following problem.
We are trying to set composite sensors on an exposed service. For a specific requirement the wsdl exposed has a message with three parts like below:
    +<wsdl:message name="requestMessage">+
    +<wsdl:part name="partMC" element="inp1:ManageCustomerRequest"/>+
    +<wsdl:part name="partMCA" element="inp2:ManageCustomerAccountRequest"/>+
    +<wsdl:part name="partMP" element="inp3:ManageProductRequest"/>+
    +</wsdl:message>+
We set composite sensors, with same name, for following elements:
    - sensor "businessID" = $in.partMCA/inp2:ManageCustomerAccountRequest/ns4:Header/ns3:businessID
    - sensor "businessID" = $in.partMC/inp1:ManageCustomerRequest/ns4:Header/ns3:businessID
    - sensor "businessID" = $in.partMP/inp3:ManageProductRequest/ns4:Header/ns3:businessID
The problem is that every time a composite instance is created, on EM we can find a sensor named businessID, but, since we can't predict what message part is received, on log we also find exceptions like below:

Do you have any idea how we can manage the problem in order to don't have any exception on log?
    Thanks,
    Antonio

It is the expected behavior. If you refer to the documentation @ http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_compsensors.htm, this is what it says:
*47.1.1 Restrictions on Use of Composite Sensors*
Functions can only be used with the payload. For example, XPath functions such as concat() and others cannot be used with properties. Thanks,

  • Bluetooth keeps disconnecting with heart rate sensor

    Hi,
I recently bought one of the Bluetooth LE Heart Rate Sensor. It is a brand called "MEDISANA" that you can get in Germans market Lidl.
I tried to pair it in several sports applications like Endomondo, Adidas Micoach etc and they all fails. In Endomondo sensor is keep connecting and disconnecting....
I've also tried to pair same sensor on my mate Z2 running KitKat 4.4.4 but end up with same results.
Yesterday I loaded official Lollipop 5.0.2 to my Z3C but nothing change to my surprise....
The funny thing is that same Heart Rate Sensors works fine on my wife cheep Nokia Lumia 520 and also on one of my colleagues android 4.4.2 (dont remember the brand).
So it looks like the issue is only related to Sony's mobile.
Does anyone has faced same kind of issues with BTLE sensors?

Sorry but why is every little thing that goes wrong or isn't supported due to compatibility always Sony's fault - It's never the manufacturer or developers fault - Like i said contact the manufacturer and if they say it's compatible then ask for a statement saying so.
