I'm using ethernet connection to apple tv and it won't recognize my apple id. It keeps telling me my id or password are incorrect, but I know for sure they are not. Is anyone able to help me?
Tried resetting my password trhough itunes and the iforgot.apple.com
I unplugged all the cords from the apple tv for 30 seconds, re-connected and still have the same problem

The computer has to be authorized for the account that purcchased the media.
What error message are you getting when you try to lauthorize the computer for that account?

Hi Allan, thanks for that. I've already set up a log in for my wife and that is all working fine. The problem is that when she logs in and opens iTunes and trys to associate her library with her iTunes account she gets the error message "This computer is already associated with another iTunes account". Whilst this is true, the computer is associated with my iTunes account under my separate log in, which should have nothing to do with hers. If she transfers the association to her account it will lock me out of my content on my log in for 90 days - I'm trying to work out how to associate each of the log in accounts with a separate iTunes account so we can access our music independently of one another without locking each other out. Hope that makes sense!

stevie, a third party app called airparrot will give you the pretty much the same as mirroring and forks on Macs too old to mirror.

Updating Snow Leopard won't help. You need to Upgrade OS X to Lion or higher if your system will support it. First check to see if your system meets the system requirements to upgrade.
Lion system requirements are:

2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them. -
my iphone 5 is stuck on a screen displaying the itunes symbol and a charging cable. I tried connecting it to itunes and it won't recognize it or anything. what can i do?
Turn it off by holding home+ power button untill the screen goes black ( as soon as it goes black, release the buttons).. This might take some practice , so dont worry if on the first try your phone reboots and goes to itunes screen again.
Now, with your phone powered off, enter DFU mode:
Method 1)
Attach the phone to the pc
Turn the phone off
Hold power and home together for *exactly* 10 seconds
Release power but keep holding home until the pc beeps as a USB device is recognized.
Whilist in dfu mode, itunes will recognize the device and it will ask you if you wish to restore it. Simply click restore, and the restoring proces will begin.
This will hopefully fix your iphone.

I was not asking about an English professor. I was referring to my phone and I do not have the good fortune to live close to an apple store and Att will do nothing for me as they have no clue what to do. I was hoping someone here in what I was told was a nice community and could help with some issues would be able to help. I think that your not very kind person and way to critical of people and must be really unhappy to respond to someone who is just looking for help. Thank you for your concern about my future and life skills however, it is not important to me if you care of not about my future! I just needed help from a person who has had this issue and was able to fix it.

Says password is incorrect, but I know it's not.
When I log into my computer I am able to enter my password and it works just fine. But when I am changing settings or trying to download new software it says password is incorrect. I am not sure what is going on. Any help?
It is OS X Mavericks now, and it is the admin account. I talked to someone from apple this is what he told me to do reset the password with out the correct password.
To Reset the ORIGINAL ADMINISTRATOR password on the Mac, what we need to do is boot to Recovery Partition and use the password reset utility. To do so, we need to use the following steps.
1. With the Mac powered down, go ahead and power it back on holding down the Option key to open the Startup Manager.
2. Select the Recovery Disk or Recovery HD that is listed using the arrow keys and the Return key to select.
3. In the next screen choose the language, then click the arrow button to continue.
4. In the Apple Menu bar at the top, look for the Utilities drop down button, then select Terminal from here.
5. In the new Terminal window, type "Resetpassword" (with out the quotation marks) then press return.
6. The Password Reset Dialogue Box will appear. Choose the Mac OS X hard drive, which is usually listed as Mac HD or Macintosh HD.
7. Select the User account you would like to reset, then enter the remaining information, then click Reset below it.
8. Click Save then choose the red button in the upper left hand corner to quit the application.
9. Choose the Apple logo in the upper left hand corner and select Restart.
10. Once the computer has been restarted you should be able to log in to your Account using the new Password for your user account. You will be prompted to "Create a New Keychain". it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you create a New Keychain.
After you have reset the password for the new keychain, you may be prompted to reset a few passwords. If it is requesting your Keychain password, just use the same password as the one you have just reset. -
I have installed my lexmark x1100 printer to my macpro lion but though it registers its there it keeps telling me that the inkjet pots are not in position or wrongly inserted, how can I overcome this problem which is driving me crackers!!!!!
Thanks for the additional info. If the printer works using your Dell Laptop, then the printer is working fine. The problem is with the driver. The Lexmark X1100 is only compatible up to Mac OS 9.2.2. If you have the Mac OS X, unfortunately, it's not compatible with that OS.
You might want to consider purchasing a new printer - preferably a network printer since you have multiple computers. We do have printers that are currently on sale online. You can check it out here: http://bit.ly/KQBDe0

I purchased a 3TB Airport Time Capsule to use with my Mac running latest Maverics. After 8 hours been able to configure the box using Ethernet connection but now I want to move my current backups from my small driveand it wants authentication but no box is available to provide my administrator name can anyone help ?
I overcame the permissions by allowing both paths to have read and write access to anyone but that didnt solve it until I copied it into the DATA directory which I created on the Airport Time Capsule.
I had already discovered the TIME MACHINE How to transfer backups but I am struggling still with the item and cannot currently get it to work. My setup seems to have created a wireless link to my router which is what I wanted and in that set up there are three options. I have simply gone for the extension of my network. I ignored the other option there which I cannot remember something like DNS? That may be the problem becasuse when I remove the Ethernet connector it just doesnt go anywhere.
I have also found I cannot update my TIME MACHINE software (currently 1.3) as although Apple tell me I should be able to set backups hourly daily or weekly I have only ever been able to run it hourly when i would prefer longer intervals so thought an update might be necssary.
Also tried to get an update for my Airport Utility (Currently 6.3.2 but cannot find one even though I have read there might be one available and again this might be the problem.
Have reset the Time Capsule now about a dozen times.
Following the instructions and trying to copy my existing backup it suggests you need to copy it to the root directory but that is when I get some sort of security issue and I found I could only get it to accept if I dragged my .backupdb to the DATA directory on the Time Capsule. I dont even know if I do this it will work when I come to use it.
I therefore found your reply of no more help than i had discovered but I hope you return to read this note because I really do need some help.
I am intending starting again in the next couple of days and fully documenting what I do and what I see and then as I suspect it will be no different and I will then seek an appointment at the Apple Store in Trafford Centre and if that proves unsuccessful then I still have time to return and become a dissatisfied customer with Apple for the first time in a long experience with Apple. I have noticed frightening notes on the conversations which point to problems of Mavericks working with Airport Time Machine!! So in the end it might not be me doing anything wrong. Unfortunately you do feel left out in the dark sometimes that is why I hope you can respond with a solution? -
