I'm using varispeed to speed up a song

but when I copy to the desktop, it doesn't maintain the new speed. Is there some way that the new speed can be saved.I've tried everything but nothing works.

I just checked the same thing in Lion 10.7.2 and Logic 9.16 and it works fine here. Which versions are you using?

Clicking sound using varispeed

When using varispeed, I hear some intermittent clicking. It seems to happen randomly, as well. For example, one time I will play the song and hear the clicking. I play the song again, and the clicking is gone, or sometimes moves to a different location in the song. I have varispeed set to (speed and pitch) and have raised it by 2%.

Same problem here when upgrading to 3.1.1 from 3.0, keyboard sound went REAL low no matter what the settings were set to... I just did the latest update from 3.1.1 to 3.1.2 thinking they may have fixed the problem, but NOPE same low keyboard click sound. I'm working on downgrading back to 3.0

I can only speak from Logic 9.
Did you bounce from the Master Bus?
A varispeed created audio file has to be bounced from the Master Bus.

The High Speed Data Logger vi will not acquire and right to multiple DAQ boards at the same time without modification. LabVIEW is more than capable of doing this what you are trying to do, but you will have to modify the code.

Can anybody out there help shed some light on why no audio output using varispeed tempo only?
I am using Logic Pro 9 and finding no problems using the tempo and pitch option but when I just want to vari the tempo only I loose all output.
This includes no audio meter activity on channells.

Another worthwhile time/pitch related product is from Prosoniq. The version of Nuendo (not the latest) the University uses ships with the MPEX algorithm, which is related to to their flagship product.

Speedgrade pros:
Extremeley powerful for color-grating (perhaps not quite to the level of resolve, but plenty for most users)
Well integrated with Pr and AE via dynamic link (especially compared to a non-adobe app)
Speedgrade cons:
A bit of a learning curve (but probably nothing a few good tutorials can't remedy)
So, if you're using PrPro and AE as your main editing and effects tools (not to mention photoshop, audition and perhaps lightroom), then Speedgrade seems like a no brainer to me unless you already have a lot of time and assets fully invested in some other color grading solution. I'm truly not just trying to hawk out producs, it just seems to make the most sense in your case.

Audio glitches and drops out when using varispeed

So I have a very complex drum part to record and need to drop the tempo about 10% to get it right.
My problem is that I can only get reliable audio when I use varispeed for playback (and even then, there are noticeable "flakey" artifacts); If I try recording anything, I get glitching and after about 3 seconds all audio drops-out.
I tried varying i/o buffer, processing threads and process buffer range, also muting/unmuting the 14 tracks I'm trying to record but nothing seems to solve it.
Anyone have any advice?

It's not a mac/tv problem, it is a network problem.
Power cycling is simply unplugging the device from power and plugging it back in. A restart is not sufficient, in most cases, to reset the network connection.

I've taken several Express devices apart in the past to experiment with them. The internal components warm up quite a bit in the first 10-15 seconds. They continue to heat up after this. It takes 3-4 minutes or so before the heat transfers to the outer case for dissipation.
Nothing is certain, but I'm 95% sure that this is your issue. But, trying to find a microscopic break in a circuit board trace is, as I mentioned, a real longshot. If you have the time and have done things like this before, it might be worth a shot.
I guess the bottom line is that even if this is not the issue, the device will still need to be replaced since Apple does not offer repairs. There are no software or firmware fixes for somthing like this.

This may speed it up if the amount of time spent garbage collecting is getting too high. As you raise the size of a heap it has to garbage collect less often given a fixed rate of allocations per unit time. Unfortunately, the time it takes to GC also rises a bit with a large heap, so your mileage may vary.
Take a look at the rate at which you are GC'ing. use -verbose:gc to do that.
Also, raising -XmsNNm (NN is number of megs) to raise the initial heap size can also help improve startup speed. This should be either the like amount of memory you need or some reasonable fraction of the maximum heap size (perhaps == to the max heap size). This will eliminate extra GC's and time spent to grow the heap as the application runs.
If you are GC'ing fairly often (every few to 10 seconds) and the GC's take a fair amount of time (consistently greater than .5 to 1 seconds), you might want to further tune the heap. For Sun and Java 1.3.1, I often use something like this to run large programs and J2EE servers (the exact numbers may vary:
java -server -Xms256m -Xmx512m -XX:NewSize=128m -XX:MaxNewSize=128m -XX:SurvivorRatio=2

We have tested it using 6.1 and it works
We have the needing to use both features Speed Dials ( and not Call Park ) and BLF.

Sadly, support for BLF/Speeddials was not added until CCM 5.x so these features are not supported in CCM 4.3

The settings you use to play in iTunes do not get retained in other apps. What you can do is open Garage Band, drag the song from iTunes into a GB track, then edit the song as you like. You can even adjust the fade in/out exactly to the length and duration you want. When the song is trimmed, Share to iTunes, where it will become a separate song. Select that for your slideshow, or place it in an iTunes playlist and use the playlist for your slideshow.

I use to have over 8,700 songs in iCloud and then all of a sudden all of my devices erased everything and then randomly added some songs here and there and now I only have about 600 songs.

I use to have over 8,700 songs stored in icloud and all my devices recognized them fine. Then one day everything erased and then about 200-300 came back, on their own and then a. Kills more hundred came back and I'm up to 600 but now I can't find anymore of my music in iCloud.

Go to the top of the iTunes window and put the cursor over track name. Click the arrow to the right of the now playing track name and Go to Song.
