Ipod Software Version 1.1.2 has rendered Ipod useless

I've had troubles with new Ipod software every time I install it, I don't know why I installed another new crappy update that gives me nothing but pain and agony but here I am.
I have a 5th generation 160GB Ipod that has worked just fine and dandy up until today when I updated it to version 1.1.2. Now it tells me i need to restore my Ipod and when I do this, it goes through the restore process then tells me I need to restore my Ipod AGAIN! I've been through this neverending cycle at least 20 times. I've tried the new version, the old version. I've tried the 5 R's, I've restarted my computer twice. And still it continues in this same incessant loop.
Help?

I am having the same exact problem! it comes up with a cannot read contents of ipod. restore... blah blah blah, we all get it. it will freeze up my itunes and other programs if i try to open them when it is plugged in.
I do not suggest sending it in for service. i did and they just sent it back to me telling me that nothing was wrong with it and they charged me like 60 bucks. that made me so mad.
Stupid itunes 7.6 is just crap.
I hope they fix it soon.

  • Downfalls of iPod Software Version 1.2???

What are the downfalls of iPod Software Version 1.2?

This is in regards to the iPod software 1.2 on the older 5th generation iPod Video.
    1. Clicker problem not solved -- unlike the iPod Nano, the Clicker settings are On, Off, Clicker, Earphones. On the iPod Video, it's only On or Off.
    2. No search function
    3. The "floating" alphabets when scrolling quickly down the Artist or Song list is only worthwhile for languages in Alphabets. This display method does not work for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and a multitude of other non-Latin alphabet languages.
    4. iCal problem not fixed. iCal has a location field. This location field does not transfer to the iPod. This is a problem for those of us who put the meeting place in the "location field".
That's it from me so far.

The latest changes to the function to "Upload to FTP Host" has rendered this useless - no point using a program like Muse if I can not easily and automatically upload the work to the webserver!  I use BlueHost webhosting that has a primary domain and I have several domains with that account (as sub-domains or folders on this server) - with past versions of Muse when uploading pages it simply opened an alert window to tell me (what I already know) that the website I was uploading does not point to the primary domain BUT NOW Muse tries to create a new separate folder in the root directory of the primary domain - completely ignoring the directory path I am giving it - useless!  Why make these senseless changes to the program - and so often - very frustrating it is like amateur ware!.

    Hi Stephen,
There are some issues with the upload to ftp via Muse, which the engineering team is aware of and those will be fixed in a future build of Muse. At this point the work around would be to export the html from Muse and then upload via some third party ftp client like filezilla.
I will recommend that you keep an eye on our release notes page to get more updates on it - Release notes | Adobe Muse CC

  • IPod touch wheel and iPod software version 1.5

    Hi,
I have a problem with my iPod touch wheel (20 GB).
I have purchased some music on the iTMS this days, but i was unable to transfer it to my Ipod, which software version was 1.4.
So, I decide to restore the iPod with the latest version for this model, i.e. 1.5, and to upload all the songs, using the automatically update option.
I did it, but after uploading the music, all the playlists are empty (menu "playlists", "artists", etc...). I can't see any songs although the indication of size is correct.
But, everything seems normal when I access the iPod by iTunes (version 5) : I can see and play all the playlists on the iPod, when I have deactivate the automatically update.
So, I restore again the iPod, and transfer manually some playlists. I was able to browse them on the iPod, and listen to them.
    I'm using iTunes 5, on Mac OS X 10.4.2.
Has anyone had the same problem ?

    Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

  • Which iPod software version ?

    Hi,
I just bought the Nike+ iPod, was very excited to use it this WE, but didn't manage to make it work !! It seems that the receiver does not detect the sensor. My iPod nano 3rd gen is running on the iPod sotfware version 1.1, and iTunes says that this is the latest version. But on the user guide of the Nike+ iPod it is said that the iPod should run with the latest iPod software, which is 1.2
    Who should I trust ?
Which version of the software is running on your iPod ?
    Thanks for your help, Alexis

    Hi,
Me again ! I went back to the store and found the solution : when you look in details to the config requirements, there are not all the same. If you want to use the Nike+ sensor with a 3rd generation iPod nano, it should be stated on the package : "requires iPod nano with software v1.3 or iPod nano (aluminium) with version 1.1 or later". It seems that the first I get from the store was from an older stock. With a recent one, it works perfectly.
By the way, I now know the distance from my favorite sport shop to my office !
    Cheers, Alexis

  • Should iTunes version and iPod software version be the same?

My iTunes is version 7.6, but my iPod software is version 1.1
    Should they be the same?

No, they are not the same. If you have a 1st Generation Shuffle you should have firmware 1.1.5. If you have a 2nd Generation Shuffle it would be 1.0.3.

  • Deleting and syncing videos / iPod software version

    Two questions:
    1) I have videos downloaded through iTunes on my computer and synced on my iPod. They are taking up way too much space on my computer's hard drive, though, and I was wondering if I delete them from my iTunes Library and off my computer, will they remain on my iPod the next time I sync?
    2) I have an outdated version of iPod software. How important is it to have the most current version?

    1) I have videos downloaded through iTunes on my computer and synced on my iPod. They are taking up way too much space on my computer's hard drive, though, and I was wondering if I delete them from my iTunes Library and off my computer, will they remain on my iPod the next time I sync?
No, if you delete from the library and sync then they will be deleted. You could either switch to manual managment of your iPod or you can remove the physical files from your computer while retaining the entries for them in the iTunes library. When you try to sync again iTunes will report that it cannot sync certain files as they cannot be found, but it should leave the previously synced files on your iPod. You can disable the warning if you choose. You will still be able to add new videos onto the iPod by adding them into iTunes, then syncing. You can also remove items you no longer want on the iPod by deleting their library entries. I would stress, however, that this method should be avoided if it results in the iPod containing the only copy of a particular file because the iPod could easily be lost, stolen or need restoring at some point. When (and not if!) you restore your iPod, you will lose all the files on it. For this reason a better appraoch would be to get an external drive to hold data you don't want on your main computer & sync from that.
    2) I have an outdated version of iPod software. How important is it to have the most current version?
Only really matters if there's a new feature or bug fix which affects you. Since Apple don't publish a list of bug fixes it can be hard to tell. Me, I'm all for the latest version but others are more cautious. Horror tales of "the update bricked my iPod" are common enough on here, but you don't generally hear the voices of happier users so I wouldn't worry too much.

  • "Ipod software update server could not be contacted": Ipod Restore

When I was trying to update software on my 4th generation Ipod Touch, the screen froze with the 'connect to Itunes' image (i.e. the Itunes logo and the USB). The screen has been frozen that way since and consequently, I have tried to restore my Ipod.
I have uninstalled and installed the latest update of Itunes; updated Windows; re-started my computer numerous times and tried holding the power off/home buttons down together. When Itunes loads, I always get the option of restoring my Ipod however once it has finished extracting software, it says "it cannot be restored at this time because the Ipod software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable".
Therefore, I was wondering if anyone can provide any help in terms of what to do as I am really stuck :/
    Thank you!

    Update Server
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem

  • Can I put my ipod on a computer that already has another ipod on it without doing any damage?

My ipod got the message "iTunes has deteced an ipod that appears to be corrupted......"
I did everything suggested and nothing helped.  My ipod was working perfectly prior to my attaching it to the computer, which itunes didn't recognize.
I reset everything, the ipod is now empty, and still the computer won't recognize it.
Can I connect this to another computer that already has an ipod associated with it without causing any problems to the owner's ipod or the music libarary?
If that computer recognizes the ipod, then my problem lies in my computer and not the ipod.
    Thanks

It should work because I have 2 iPods connected to my iTunes and everything syncs perfect most of the time and with no corrupted sign, maybe it's your computer. iTunes is'nt the best either so it may also be iTunes that has the problem.
