I need Legends shape same as of markers in Line Graph

Hi ,
I used below given code in one of my Line Graph where I need to have same shape of markers in legends as they are in line graph but due to some problem with the given code I am not able to achieve my task :
<Graph markerTooltipType="MTT_VALUES_TEXT" markerDisplayed="true" graphicAntialiasing="true" graphType="LINE_VERT_ABS" markerShapeInLegend="true">
<DataMarker markerSize="100"/>
<LegendArea automaticPlacement="AP_NEVER" position="LAP_BOTTOM" legendMarkersPerRow="1"/>
<SeriesItems>
<Series id="0" color="#ff0000" markerShape="MS_TRIANGLE_UP"/>
<Series id="1" color="#66" markerShape="MS_SQUARE"/>
<Series id="2" color="#4300" markerShape="MS_PLUS"/>
</SeriesItems>
Legends are not showing same marker shape as in the graph.Could anyone please verify this??
Thanks in Advance

Hi Prags
You did not mention the version of BIP that you are using?
I have been investigating this and I think your code is correct - but there is a bug in the chart engine code #5764496
I suggest logging an SR against us 1479 and asking support to log a bug against us to pick up this fix into our BIBeans library

  • Marker shape not showing up in DVT line graph

    Hi,
    I am facing an issue where the Marker Shape is not getting displayed in DVT Line graph. In the graph there is only one series, in which diamond markers should appear at the data points.
    I am using Jdev 11.1.1.7.0.
    Below is the expected result and the result which i am actually getting. Although the data set is different, the diamonds which we see in the first graph are not appearing in the second one(my output).
    My code snippet for the line graph is as below:
    <dvt:lineGraph id="lineGraph1"
                           value="#{bindings.VarianceGraphVO1.graphModel}"
                           subType="LINE_VERT_ABS" shortDesc="Variance Graph">
              <dvt:graphTitle text="Schedule Variance"/>
              <dvt:y1Title id="y1Title1" text="Variance % Days"/>
              <dvt:o1Title id="o1Title1" text="Cemli"/>
              <dvt:background>
                <dvt:specialEffects/>
              </dvt:background>
              <dvt:graphPlotArea/>
              <dvt:seriesSet defaultLineWidth="3">
                <dvt:series markerShape="MS_DIAMOND" markerType="MT_MARKER"
                            lineWidth="2"/>
                <dvt:series/>
              </dvt:seriesSet>
              <dvt:o1Axis rendered="false"/>
              <dvt:y1Axis/>
              <dvt:legendArea automaticPlacement="AP_NEVER"/>
            </dvt:lineGraph>
    Even though the marker shape property is mentioned it is some how not reflecting in my result. Even other types of marker shapes like square, circle, up/down arrow are not working.
    Request you to help me fix this issue.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Tejas

    Try to set seriesSet  defaultMarkerShape="MS_CIRCLE" and markerDisplayed="true" like:
    <dvt:seriesSet defaultMarkerShape="MS_CIRCLE" markerDisplayed="true">
           <dvt:series/>
    </dvt:seriesSet>

  • Can I control the # of Markers on Line Graphs?

    Is there a way to control the number of markers on the line? Even though the X Axis may skip every other month in the Axis, the Markers on a line are placed at every month! This gets very bad when we have 5-10 years of data in the graph (at the month level!)
    I cannot seem to find any setting that allows for syncing the Markers with the Axis. Is there anyway to control this?
    Thanks for your help!

    This is not currently possible with the BI Beans graph. An enhancement has been logeed with development and hopefully we will resolve this issue with the next major release of BI Beans.
    Hope this helps,

  • Marker Shape in Legend - Line Graph

    Hello,
    I have recently upgraded from 10g Release 1 to 10g Release 2.
    I am using a line graph. In Release 1, the data marker shapes show up in the legend. In Release 2, they don't. In Graph.xml, I have set the Graph element to have the attribute markerShapeInLegend="true".
    Does anybody else have this problem and/or know of a solution?
    Thank you.

    Hi Paul,
    This is the feature in 11g obiee displaying the Measue heading and dimension value... like u said right Web Sales...and so on.
    Here in u case web is the value of dimension and Sales is heading of a measure.
    One way is if u are not using any dimension apart from 1 dim and fact u can put measure labels in the group by axis and dimension column in the show in legend section then it will give u only web.
    But if u have 2 dimension then we have to put this measure labels with either one of the dimensions in this case heading of the measure wil display.
    Thanks

  • I bought app for iphone , Do i need to buy same app for MACBookPro again

    I bought app for iphone , Do i need to buy same app for MACBookPro  or its free ?
    Why cant Apple put  App Store in iTunes .
    Thanks
    Yakub

    The iPhone and the Mac do not run on the same operating system. IPhone apps do not run on a Mac. Mac apps do not run iPhone. If the developer has created an app for both the iPhone and the Mac they almost always sell them separately in the respective app stores.

  • NOTHING_PROVIDES_DEP: suse-sam-data needed by suse-sam-0.8.1-0.1.1.noarch

    Tried to patch my SLES11 dom0 64bits and got this:
    Bundle installation failed: "Failed to prepare bundles for install:
    NOTHING_PROVIDES_DEP: suse-sam-data needed by
    suse-sam-0.8.1-0.1.1.noarch "
    How to resolve it?

    Well, I did not remove it from zlmmirror bundle patch, just from my own
    created rpm-bundles for sles11_domo_x64.
    Assigning the pool to the server as well will solve the problem, you say?
    SLES11-Pool
    SLES11-Updates
    that goes hand-in-hand... but, I use a NFS share to the installation
    source instead.
    When registrering my SLES11 to ZLM server it does remove everything.
    How can I re-add my installation source AFTER zlm-agent has been
    installed. Automatically. Run a script from zlm-policy?

  • Need to maintain same data in ECC and MDM

    Hi ,
    Could you please tel me why we need to maintain same data in MDM and ECC seperately.
    Regards
    Ramya

    HI Ramyadixit,
    It is important to understand that MDM and ERP do not replace eachother rather complement each other.
    Using SAPu2019s ERP suite as the foundation technology for an MDM implementation is problematic because, despite all the positives of ERP, flexibility is usually not associated with SAP systems.
    SAP ERP doesnu2019t offer the tools to manage master data in the ways required by todayu2019s complex organizations.SAP ERP isnu2019t designed for active management of critical master data. Specifically, SAPu2019s data matching capabilities are too basic. Its search functions might be good at u201Cexact matchu201D but they are not as strong at the kind of u201Cfuzzy searchingu201D that is so important in uncovering duplicate entries with subtle differences. For the same reason, users are far more likely to create new duplicate customer records in SAP, and thereu2019s no way to create a u201Cgolden copyu201D of master data for use across multiple heterogeneous systems, or to maintain survivorship rules for overlapping data from multiple systems.
    These problems are all compounded when you have more than a single SAP instance, or different ERPs altogether, which is a very real occurrence within large corporations that have grown through mergers & acquisitions. Even without multiple ERP instances, most mid-size and larger national firms are likely to pull data from many different systems. In fact, 10 to 30 source systems is not uncommon, and heterogeneous environments are now the norm. The siloed approach to data management whereby customer-facing data is in one system, product data in another, asset data in a third, and so forth, really complicates the integration of processes, data and workflow.
    A dedicated MDM hub provides a multitude of benefits not attainable with an SAP ERP-based master data approach. First, a dedicated MDM system is just that -- dedicated to delivering the best possible manageability of your master data across the enterprise, and not just within your ERP technology stack. The focus of any high-quality, enterprise-grade MDM hub implementation is going to be on getting master data right; creating a single source of truth, with each distinct customer, product, etc. represented only once in the hub. This means you can maintain accurate, complete, timely and consistent master data through both data governance and hub technology, with robust data quality and matching capabilities.
    MDM and ERP need to coexist for instance as one solution does not replace the other. From an investment perspective, it is important to leverage existing technologies such as data quality, extract-transfer-load (ETL) and data integration tools, middleware, business process management and workflow.
    To summarise, the top five reasons not to master your data in SAP ERP are:
    1. SAP ERP isnu2019t flexible enough.
    2. Master data is different and canu2019t be proactively managed within an SAP ERP system.
    3. SAPu2019s ERP products werenu2019t designed for active management of master data.
    4. Mastering data in an ERP system is much more difficult with more than one instance or when different ERPs are used together.
    5. An MDM hub creates a workspace between an organizationu2019s transactional and analytic systems meaning they fix it once and then extend it for use in back office systems and the data warehouse.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks,
    Ravi

  • Does the new Front row features the same Podcasts blue markers on TV show?

    Does the new Front row features the same Podcasts blue markers on TV show? As I'm using Tiger right now with Front-Row V1 that only show the blue markers on the Podcasts.
    Not only that, but it also doesn't update the TV Shows counters when using front-row.
    Another thing I wonder, its about Apple TV 2 (or whatever the name is) I'm using my Mini-MAC to watch iTunes Podcasts, TV Shows, Movies and DVD movies on my living room. Should I just get an Apple TV instead? Or with Leopard I can make it work just like Apple TV but with less restrictions? Right now I'm using an external 400 gig HD.
    Thanks for any advice.

    Bump.

    Note that each Branch_Desc has 12 periods called CURRPERIOD,CURPERSUB1,CURPERSUB2 ...... and 12 values for those periods as VALUECURRENTPERIOD, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB1, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB2......
    I need to create a Line Graph for each Branch for the 12 periods as defined above where VALUECURRENTPERIOD, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB1 etc. are the values for that period. The current BIPublisher Chart tool only allows one Value and One Label. In my case I have 12 VALUES (VALUECURRENTPERIOD etc.) and 12 LABELS (CURRPERIOD, CURPERSUB1 etc.). The SERIES or LEGEND should be the Branch Desc . So what I am looking for is to plot values(12 values) for 6 branches (so six lines) over a period of time (12 periods).

    Hi Tim,
    We have this XML data calculated from several tables where the layout was in the format of One account(a Branch in this case) and 12 periodic values for the same . So reformatting the XML is not going to be easy as the source data is like this itself. I tried un-pivioting the table (as this one is already pivoted) but it looks like Oracle doesn't support this feature yet, but is suported in DB2 or SQL. Please take a look at this link
    http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/database/technology/archives/unpivot-query-12798?close=true
    So I am stuck with the data in this format and users want a line graph for each branch over he period of time. May be somone on this forum can figure out how to un-pivot a table in Oracle. Thanks for your help in advance.

  • Help needed in plotting Line Graph!!!!!!!!!Pls help!!

    Hi, i need help in plotting a simple line graph showing the x&y axis and has to plot 3 different lines in the same graph.I have written a program and i need to implement this graph in it.Is there any tutorial for plotting line graphs,i mean steps included.
    Please help!

    You describe your need, but not where it originates from.
    Is it a programming assignment? If so, I hope this is not your chosen major, as you will fail because you are a non-resourceful plagarist.
    Do you need to simply graph some data? Use an existing package. There are free ones somewhere.
    What do you mean "i have written a program and i need to implement this graph in it"? If you wrote the program, wouldn't you be done?
    Enjoy programming

  • 11.1.1.5 - Measure labels are appearing in legend (line graph)

    I've created a line graph in 11.1.1.5. My legend is showing a combination of the column value and the measure name (e.g. Web Sales, Direct Sales, Retail Sales). I want my legend to simply say Web, Direct, and Retail, without the appended 'Sales' measure label.
    The Measure Labels tile is currently residing in the Vary Color By (Horizontal Axis) zone, along with the legend column, so I guess it makes sense that the legend column and the measure labels would both show up in the legend (although I don't think that was the case in 11.1.1.3). However, there doesn't appear to be any place into which I can relocate the Measure Labels tile so that the word Sales DOESN'T appear on the line graph. If I move the Measures Labels tile into Graph Prompts, Sections, or Group By (Horizontal Axis), the word Sales appears in those locations. If I attempt to move that tile into the Lines (Vertical Axis) box, or into the Excluded box, it won't allow being dropped there.
    Switching between line, bar, and area graphs reveals the same problem in all graph types.
    Is there any way to supress the display of measure labels on graphs in 11.1.1.5?

    Hi Paul,
    This is the feature in 11g obiee displaying the Measue heading and dimension value... like u said right Web Sales...and so on.
    Thanks

  • Markers on the line Graph.

    Hello,
    I am wondering, if it is possible to display line graph with the markers (dots, squares, …) on the line. It looks like markerDisplayed="true" is the parameter to set, but it changes marker Display in the legend, not on the graph.
    Thank you,
    Irina.

    Hi,
    is this a question for JDeveloper 10.1.3 or 11? If it sis for 11, please post this to the JDeveloper 11 forum, which is montitored by the DVT developers as well:

  • How to change legend name in Web-I line graph

    Hi,
    Please help me on this. My Web-I line graph displays the legend same with the universe measure name that I have used. Is there a way to rename the legend.
    Thank you in advance.
    Rose

    Hi Rosemarie,
    There is no functionality of editing the legend text of a graph in a Webintelligence report
    Enhancement Request ADAPT00787806 has been created.
    If you are more concerned about the Legend title and not the Measure name then you can store  the measure values in Measure Variable and give the variable name you want your legend title should be.
    Only take dimensions and newly created variable on the report where variable will act as measure.
    I Hope  this Helpsu2026

  • Is it possible to modify marker shapes in a line graph

    Hello,
    Some questions regarding the marker shapes in line graphs.
    I have a line graph with two series. The client wants one series to have the diamond shape (black border, white inside) and the other series to also be a diamond but be filled in black.
    Is there a way to do this?
    Also, the marker shapes appear small in the graph. Is there a way to increase the size of the marker shapes?
    Lastly, I can't get the marker shapes to appear in the legend. I have tried setting markerShapeInLegend="true" in the Graph tag but that didn't help. It still just displays the line colour of the series.
    We are on version 10.1.3.4.1
    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
    Jared

    Hi,
    It is impossible to do that because the user query is using query generator. Click the condition button in the quer generator windows. The selection criteria text used the condition.
    you can use a custom report instead of using user query e.g. crystal report or reporting services
