I/o Error - file unable to be copied.

After tearing my hair out for days I will seek expert advice (yes I am sucking up big time!)
I own a Kogan ebook reader - the original non-touchscreen generation and have had no dramas with it. Based on this I bought my mother and my mother in law the new generation touch screen Kogan ebook readers for Christmas.
They dont read classics so I removed all the pre-loaded books and bought a bunch of books from an ebay seller which arrived on a cd. I have loaded the epub versions on to ADE and transfered a few that I wanted on to my personal ebook reader.
Frustration has occured when trying to load them onto the new readers. I run Kaspersky so I have updated the settings to allow ADE to run thinking this might be my issue. That stupid Microsoft Shield program is on my computer as well but I believe i have adjusted the settings to allow ADE to function.
I have also checked the settings on the ebooks which allow viewing, copying and printing on any device so it wasnt a one use issue.
I have deleted the files from ADE and from my computer and reloaded them onto the computer and ADE, still no joy!
I had no trouble until I tried using these newer generation Kogan's (by the way, I have sought their help and their tech support is questionable at best) I have even tried loading the books by simply copy/paste through My Computer. When I do this I get Error Code 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable. Did I mention I have also reformatted and restored the factory settings on the ebook reader?????
Someone please help!!! If it is of any help I am running Windows 7 Professional on a 3 month old Lenovo Desktop.

Hi
The drag & drop is not bad bud I would recommend using the "Nero burning rom" software to burn the DVD.
This software supports many burning options and allows you to burn the medium with best performance.
Additional you should know that the drive doesn't support all CD or DVD from all manufacturers.
In the user manual you will find a list of compatible and supported CD DVD manufacturers.
But please don't be confused about the unknown names like i.e Mitsubishi.
These are the manufacturers and not vendors like TDK. Don't mix manufacturer and vendor!
best regards

    Hello,

  • When I click a backup date to restore bookmarks from backup, get error message "unable to process the backup file". unable to successfully copy bookmarks from default profile to new profile, nor access the backup function successfully. any suggestions?

I had trouble with WiseStamp and was advised to create a new profile. I did and the WiseStamp issue was resolved. However, I now have no bookmarks on the new profile. I copied the places. file from the old profile to the new one, but with no success. The bookmarks do exist on the old profile. I like having WiseStamp working, but need those multitude of bookmarks more! Any advice greatly appreciated. :)

Did you try to restore from another JSON backup?
You can try to move places.sqlite to another location and only leave that backup file in the bookmarkbackups folder.

  • Project Error - files unable to open

I have a large project, complex file structure, using RoboHelp 8.0. Here is a history of the problem:
    1. The application suddenly quit, and I received the error message: "Adobe RoboHelp 8 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
    2. I reinstalled RoboHelp, even moved the project to a different computer with a fresh install of RoboHelp, and the application still quit every time I try to open the .xpj file.
    3. I renamed the old .xpj file and clicked on the  .hhk file to restore.
    4. I received a number of "illegal file" errors as a result of old pdf (baggage) files that had an apostrophe in the file name.  (I have addressed these files per file name).
    5. I was able to open the project BRIEFLY from the .hhk.
    6. As soon as I opened the Table of Contents, the project closed and I again received the message: "Adobe RoboHelp 8 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I'm trying again, but I have a deadline to meet, and no files available. Can anyone help?
    Thanks.
    Helen S.

I'm having the same issue with one of my RoboHelp 8 projects
when I initially tried to open the project. I renamed the .cpd file and am able to work without the message appearing.
However, one of the many times when I got the "RoboHelp has to close" error, my
table of contents, index, and glossary files were emptied. They're still there, but there's no content.
Do you think this is a separate issue, or something related?

  • Previous Purchase in Library as an 'error' file, unable to redownload.

I have several television shows that I have purchased. They are in my Library as icons. When I click on them to try and play, the error message comes up that "cannot find the original file'. When I look at the items as a list, there is an exclamation mark in front of the titles of the shows that this happens to.
When I go to My Account and look up my Purchase History, I can find them all, including Order number and Invoice Number.
When I go to my Purchased History (at the bottom of the main iTunes page), some are in the List but are marked as "downloaded", and some just don't show up in the List at all.
When I go to the items in the iTunes store, it is asking me to repurchase (instead of download). I haven't tried it yet, do not feel like paying for something a second time.
Apple "support" gave me a link or asked me to call the support line (for a fee).
For the first time, I am regretting using Apple products.

Something vaguely similar happened to me.  I was asked for my password when syncing my iphone and then an album i bought from iTunes in 2008 was for some reason re-downloaded. I didnt think too  much of it at the time as random songs are occasionally redownloaded when syncing and their play counts reset, though I'm not usually asked for my password.  However the album would not then sync with my very old ipad, the new song files appeared to be corrupted. Great I thought, but I'll redownload from my purchased items.  But no sign of the album there although other purchases from that time are in the history. Two videos from the album also would not sync with either phone or pad and then the entire album would not sync with either device. (as you can imagine I tried syncing with both, several times)
After a lot of guddling about burning a cd from another laptop and reimporting, as plain old AACs,  finally it occurred to me to restore the album from Time Machine, and all seems ok now, but no thanks to iTunes or its store... what is going on?

  • Officeject 7500A: Unable to scan, copy, or send a fax

I get the following error message: "Unable to scan, copy, or send a fax", whenever I try to do any of these operations.
I already did a semi-full reset. And a normal reset (remove from the plug, wait for an hour, and return it).
And I can't connect the printer directly to the outlet, because it supplies 220V (as in the european standard) and the printer operates on 110V, thus I have an adapter that must be connected.
    The problem was not solved.
Are there any suggestions for solving the problem? Can a full-full reset help (and if yes, then how can I do that reset)?

  • OraRRP Error with "Unable to copy data file;Error code 2, check disk space"

    Hi,
Some users get this message -"Unable to copy data file;Error code 2, check disk space" when run report with orarrp, but most users do not get it.
I check free space at both server and client side, they are very sufficient.
I also checked directory exists for REPORTXX_TMP variable.
My user call reports via URL (rwservlet) and it occur for all reports.
How I can solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Tawatchai R.

    Hi,
have the same problem now. One user has temporarily problems to download .rrpa files via URL (rwservlet) request. Error code: -"Unable to copy data file;Error code 2, check disk space". Did you get a solution??
    Thanks in advance. Axel

  • Download Helper, even with paid converter upgrade, gives "Invalid Capture File" errors and will not record audio, with "File Creation Error - Unable to rename/copy audio file" Error.

Download Helper Screen Capture worked to capture video if the default "no audio" option is active. But, no audio. The "speakers" or "microphone" audio options are confusing....the audio to be captured is from the video, so what do you choose? With either "speakers" or "microphone" selected, the captured file has poor audio and no video. Re-capture efforts (speakers) get "Invalid capture file error" and "File Creation error- Unable to rename/copy audio file"
The paid upgrade of "Converter" doesn't work.
Instructive documentation - not very good.
Suggestions - Need time delay between initiation of "Record" and starting the video to be recorded.
Could use timer tracking of the record process.
Are there operating system limitations? (Have Windows XP Pro)

That is an issue for the developer of that Download Helper.

Time Machine quit backing up files. Bought a new WD external drive. Worked for awhile, then quit backing up. Tried restarting computer, remounting drive. Message: Time Machine Error. Unable to complete backup. An error occurred when copying files. Suggestions?

Thanks so very much for your help!! I'm boggled by it and now just about ready to dump the whole idea of Time Machine and backup using a cloning program. Maybe TM is only guaranteed to work well with Time Capsule these days?

I'm thinking it's the standalone Buffalo backup drive not waking up, and so everything comes to a screeching halt. Do you also think I should abandon TM and just do manual backups every day using a clone program?

  • Indesign CC packaging process fails with the error message "Unable to copy necessary file(s)"

When I try to package a file with a lot of links, the Indesign CC packaging process fails with the error message "Unable to copy necessary file(s)". I am able to make a PDF of the same file, but when packaking the process fails every time. The app does not crash, just gives an error message. What gives?
(I'm using a MacBook Pro Retina Display with 16 GB RAM, running OS 10.9 and all CC 9.1 updated with the latest patches).

@John – that's really strange… the thing with the file names depending on the file type. That could eleminate Mavericks a bit from the equation and put the weight more on InDesign CC.
    Provided:
    1. You give it a go with InDesign CS6 v8.0.2 and tests are showing it will work fine in this regard.
    2. The same composite characters are present in both file types, the ai files and the PhotoShop ones. On a Mac OSX characters for files and folders can consist of "composite" components:
ü for example is a two component one: the u and the two dots above the u. On a machine with MS Windows, this is not the case…
InDesign CC was programmed from scratch for a 64 bit architecture. So it could be a severe bug in InDesign CC.
Maybe other readers in this forum could test for these cases…

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes) in the String Matching text field. You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard." Note the timestamp of the last such message that corresponds to a failed backup. Now
CLEAR THE WORD "Starting" FROM THE TEXT FIELD
so that all messages are showning, and scroll back in the log to the time you noted. Select the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message.
If all you see are messages that contain the word "Starting," you didn't clear the text field.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don't post many repetitions of the same message.

  • Error 1 Unable to copy file "obj...

Hi there! I am specifically using Visual Studio 2013:Windows Forms Application version 3.5 and this error log keeps popping up! I keep seeing stuff like visual C#, but
    how do I fix this?
    Error Log:
Error 1 Unable to copy file "obj\Debug\Project.exe" to "bin\Debug\Project.exe". Access to the path 'obj\Debug\Project.exe' is denied. Project

Check the Task Manager and see if the "Project.exe" is in use, or maybe another program is locking the built assembly of your project. Try to close the VS IDE and reopen the project. If this doesn't work, use Process Explorer to find the
    using process.

  • Time Machine Error. Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while copy

I purchased my iMac 24" in February.
After I had set up the machine I configured an IceCube Firewire 300 GB (Seagate) Hard Drive as a backup volume and flicked the switch in Time Machine. All went as expected. I even restored my whole hard drive from the Time Machine volume about a month ago after I repartitioned the boot volume to set up Boot Camp. No problems.
About a week ago I purchased a 500GB WD HDD and set it up inside the IceCube enclosure (I remembered to make it the "Master" disk too!!). I partitioned it with Disk Utility with a GUID Mac OS X (Journaled) partition for my Leopard boot partition, and as MS-DOS FAT32 for my Boot Camp external partition. I used Carbon Copy Cloner to copy all the Windows files across from Boot Camp to the new FAT32 partition and set up Time Machine to make a backup of the Leopard boot partition.
After several hours Time Machine stopped with the error message above. ("Time Machine Error. Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while copying files to the backup").
I have spent days formatting the new WD drive, repairing permissions on the boot drive, excluding large files and cache files from the backup in Time Machine to no avail. Every time I get the same message. I even set up another 200GB firewire drive to see if it was anything to do with the enclosure of WD HDD. Same result!!
I have searched these forums for any ideas, and have done wide searches with Google but nothing has worked.
I can not understand why my Mac worked perfectly with Time Machine before I installed the new Western Digital Hard Drive.
    What have I missed?

I keep getting the Time Machine backup error too, like many others. Was fine until just the other day, now, nothing. Although my husband's backs up just fine. I assume it's the 10.5.3 bug everyone else has. I've tried reselecting the drive, running the disk utility, shutting everything on and off... help!
Here's the console log- anyone know what this means?

  • [Compiler] Error #1063: Unable to open file: /alchemy-darwin-v0.5a/avm2-libc/lib/asmachine.abc

Can anyone give input on receiving this error when compiling?  I've come across it a few times.  The current project is compiling libjpg from www.ijg.org/
[Compiler] Error #1063: Unable to open file: /projects/zaalabs/alchemy-darwin-v0.5a/avm2-libc/lib/asmachine.abc.
There is no trace of this file, however within the achacks/gcc script there is a line:
    $machimp="$libc/lib/asmachine.abc";
Referencing this file.  Is this something that wasn't released as part of the 0.5a?  Is there a workaround?
Anyone had success with a workaround, or anyone find a magical copy of asmachine.abc?
    Aaron
