I plug IPod into computer and it says it's charging

I have no clue what I did. when I used to plug my IPod into the computer ITunes recognized it, then once it said "Do not disconnect" and I unplugged it and now ITunes never recognizes my Ipod and it says it's charging instead. actually, that one might not be a drive letter conflict. it's plausible that that one is a fast user switching problem. (actually, it's plausible that the other one might have been fast user switching too ...) see:

I just downloaded version 7.1.1 and my phone is stuck on a screen showing me to plug phone into computer and go to iTunes. When I do this, iTunes says my phone is in recovery and I need to do a hard restore. Doing this, it says it will go back to factory

You shouldn't have to restore your phone to keep your data. But first press home and on button at the same time until phone shows up Apple logo an boots up normally. When the phone comes back on plug into ituens and back it up by selecting "Back Up Now". Once backed up, you can press update and install 7.1.1 and it will restore and recover all your previously backed up data. You can also press "update" and itunes will automtically back up the phoen and install 7.1.1.

i normally shop on my ipod touch (because frankly i cant be bothered to plug it into itunes then shop! ) to shop for apps and song and etc. and because i have a wall charger in my room theres pratically no need to go the computer! so sometimes when im on the computer i want to use my ipod touch as well so i charge it on the pc.
well to cut the story short everytime i want to shop on itunes it comes up with this note that says "your ipod is synced with a different pc etc" then it comes up with erase and sync? so my question is what does syn mean? because im worried if i choose ok it would get rid of all my apps

Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one. Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

My ipod says i have no music on it, but when i plug it into itunes, and look under music on my ipod, its all there. NEED HELP ASAP!!!!! all the music came from a computer which i no longer have, so my ipod is the only place where that music is.

You had a glitch and the music files got corrupted. I know of no way to uncorrupt them.
You can try using a computer app like iFunbox

to see if yo can get them from the iPod in a usable file.
Otherwise you will have to re import them to your computer and sync

We won't know until you try the procedure. The reset will not affect the content of the iPod.

it went through the extracting software stage but then an error message saying that it encountered problems came up and it didn't restore.
