Have you recharge the battery for at least 2 hours, or just leave it connected for 4 hours?
(When you replaced the Hardisk, you should also replace the battery.)
Some other iPod SSD sites, says that you may have to format the CF in FAT32, as Mac dont read NTFS drive so if Windows is the 1st PC that your CF is connected, it may be formatted to NTFS.
You can try erasing the CF using Disk Utilty, so that Mac can recognise it. (but not Windows)
Have a nice day!

  • I get a little message with a folder and exclamation point when i turn on..

when i turn on my ipod i get a message with a folder and an exclamation point. i have tried restoring, reseting, and reinstalling itunes. I was wondering if someone could help me with some advice before i take it to the shop.
    thanks,

    Hello,
Please go and fina a Mac computer. If you can't find it, go to a nearest Apple Shop and ask them a favour to do a Restore for you.
Once you plug your iPod (which formatted with a Pc) with a Mac, it will get force mounted and allow you to do the Restore. Worth trying. Once it has being completed, plug it back with your PC, and do a Restore back with the PC

  • What is going on with my phone and what can I do to fix the problem?

This is the second time this has happened to my phone. For some random reason, it decides to shut off on me. No matter how many times I press the home button or the lock button, it still acts as if it's powered off. It makes no sound, nor any vibrations. Like I said, it acts as if it were powered off but if someone else were to call my phone, you would still here a ringing as opposed to being sent directly to voicemail, all while my phone continues to remain dead. Last time this happened, it didn't end up working until the next day. FYI, battery power is still running while this is going on, and if I were to connect my phone to the charger, it would still remain dead... Why is my phone reacting this way, and what can I do to keep this from happening?

    Hi there harely95,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • IPod 4th Gen Click Wheel replaced hard drive; problems

Ok, So I replaced the 20gb hard drive with a new EXACT replacement hard drive, no other problems with iPod. But iTunes will not recognize it because the hard drive is not formatted. I tried formating it with Disk Utility but keep getting error messages. Im not sure what format to use. When the 4th gen came out Intel processors werent here so Im sure I need to simply format as Mac OS Extended. There is no HFS= format in Disk Utility. Im lost as to what to do. Please help??!

    hmm - curiouser and curiouser
I've now managed to get it to manually update (after iTunes took 100% of system resources and I had to force quit it...) but that still doesn't really help me with the auto-sync feature which still won't work

  • I get an error message that says date and time can't be set

I am ready to send this thing back as it appears to be the first apple product that does not perform as advertised. I have been through the menus and set the time and date the best I can and I still cannot log into itunes.

You have it set to automatically set the time and date.  To do that it has to be able to reach out to iCloud to get the time and date and something is blocking it from being able to do so.  So either need to fix the network/Internet connection or set it to not automatically set the time.

make sure you're using the adobe cleaner, not crap cleaner, Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
copy the installation files to a desktop folder and install from there.

I've had trouble with my Macbook since the first month I bought it. I've replaced the hard drive 3 to 4 times. Now some programs won't work or shut off by itself. Is it possible to ask for a complete exchange of products?

    This may help you: http://store.apple.com/us/help/returns_refund
It would appear that you can ask for an exchange but it doesn't specify any time frame... Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can add to this.
By the way, if you've replaced the drive so many times, perhaps there's something else going on elsewhere.

  • Replace the hard drive in my iPod Mini with CompactFlash Card?

Hi. I just dropped my mini (a whole 4 feet) and now it's broken. The drive is busted. I can hear it just clicking away and then I get the un-happy mac icon. Since it's past its warrantee and I don't have apple care for it, either I replace the hard drive or chuck it in the trash. I'm going to try the first one. I open it up and pulled out the Hitachi 4GB mini hard drive. It appears to just be a CompactFlash Card drive. My question is this:
Can I replace it with any Compact Flash Card?
I was thinking about replacing it with a regular card (i.e. no micro drive with delicate spinning parts). I figure it will be more durable and possibly extend the battery life. I think I can get atleast a 2GB card, which is what I presume they use in the nano.
    Thanks

Technically, you could replace the drive in your iPod. Just make sure you know what you're doing before you do it. After you replace the drive, just restore the iPod through the iPod restore software. After you restore your iPod, you can then use your iPod just like before. One thing I would like to point out is that the Nano uses a flash drive, not a hard drive so there is no point in trying to match a drive with the nano drive. Anyways, you may find the site http://www.ifixit.com helpful when you take on this task. I would also google "replacing iPod mini hard drive" just so you can get some insight before you take the task on.

  • We are puzzled as to why we are having hard drive memory leakage.  Tends to shrink with usage.Should we replace the hard drive?     rive lea

According to the get info on the imac hd icon we have used 249.7 out of a possible 250 gb of hardrive.  We have deleted some file, caches, but still face the shrinkage which occurs with usage.  It may rise to 320 MB but with use fall to 10mb.  Is there anything we can do or replace the hard drive?

The 'shrinkage' is due to the system using HD space as virtual memory. That is the reason why you should always leave a good chunk of disk space available for the system to use (depending on how much RAM you have and what sort of work you're using it for, that could be anything from 5 - 20GB or more).
Nothing wrong with the drive itself, you just need to offload some stuff to an external drive to free up enough space for the system to work.

  • HT204053 I recently replaced the hard drive on my Windows 7 computer and lost all of my music content. It should be on the iCloud, however. How can I get it back to iTunes? Can I "reverse-synch" and send it FROM my iPhone TO my computer?

I recently replaced the hard drive on my Windows 7 computer and in the process lost all my music. I think it should be on the iCoud. Can I get it back from the iCloud to my computer? Or can I "reverse-synch" FROM my iPhone TO iTunes?

All the music you purchased from iTunes can be re-downloaded, all the music you acquired without purchasing from iTunes can be accessed using Senuti (not free). The combination of these 2 will get your music back.

  • I spilled some pop on the back of my iPad. I cleaned it off and everything seems to be going good but when I play music it will either play with no sound or play then continue with no sound. What can I do to fix this (without being costly, it's a iPad 2)

I spilled some pop on the back of my iPad. I cleaned it off and everything seems to be going good but when I play music it will either play with no sound or play then continue with no sound. What can I do to fix this (without being costly, it's a iPad 2) this happens with other music apps too. Please I need help!

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists. If it doesn't work, there isn;t much anyone here can do for you. It may be a physical problem with your speakers.

Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7), then select Power from the left hand column of the System Profiler. Copy and paste the Battery Information back here.
Also it would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7).When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier.
