my iphone 4 i bought was jailbroken to ios 6.0.1 redsn0w but i tried to restore the iphone and now it keeps saying connect to itunes but when i connect and try to restore an "unknown error" occurs and it will not boot up whatsoever. please help!
If you want to solve your problems, unjailbreak. And don't do it again, because jailbreaking causes problems as you read about in that article. You can try Recovery Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

....desperating trying to install itunes 10.7, but it asked me to install Mac OS X 10.6.8. I did, but then it said that I needed to install Java for Mac OS x 10.6. I did that and now it keeps saying 'this update requires Mac OS X version 10.6??
Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
Snow Leopard General Requirements
1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
2. 1GB of memory
3. 5GB of available disk space
4. DVD drive for installation
5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
fees may apply.
6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
terms apply.
Actually, you cannot download Snow Leopard. You downloaded a Snow Leopard updater. -
tryed to update my ipod touch last night, today it is frozen with the Apple symbol on the screen.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iPhone 3 is not seen on iTunes when I connect it. It is also showing low battery but is not even charging and continously showing the Apple logo... What should I do? Thanks in advance, Jahnavi...
Jahnavi,
two things to be looked upon in this case. First thing is about the battery. Once the battery has enough charge in it we can try a force restore on the phone to re-install the iOS.
> Try a hard reset of the phone (Press and hold the HOME button and the Sleep/Wake button until the phone restarts and comes up with Apple logo). After trying this step, try charging the phone and see if the battery holds the charge.
> Once battery has enough charge in it then we can force it to DFO mode and perform restore. For restore refer to this link. -

My iphone 4s has been plugged in all night and will not charge
my iphone 4s will not charge, it has been plugged in all night. i know for a fact it is not a problem with the charger as i have tested it will my brothers phone.
Also when i press the home and power buttons nothing happens? i need help asap my phone has my life on itWhen you say the when you "press the home and power buttons nothing happens" do you mean you're pressing and holding them both at the same time? If the apple doesn't appear after about 15 seconds, it's not going to. You can try inspecting the port for debris that might be preventing a charge. However, it sounds as if you may need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store.
If the information on the phone is vital, I'm sure you must have taken the trouble to back it up. When the phone is replaced/repaired, you'll just need to restore the new one from your back up.
Best of luck. -
What can I do to unlock my I pad? When I did an apple update it just froze up. As stated above I held down the sleep button and waited for the red slider to tell me to shut it off but the apple symbol just kept blinking at me.
I just bought my I pad in August so it is still under warrenty.
SherylThanks for the suggestion but I tried that and nothing happened. There is a line going horizontal on the screen with a lock looking thing at the end of the line then there is an arrow that leads up to the I Tunes word and symbol.
I plugged the i pad in and will try what you said again after the battery increases in case the battery was very low.
Do you have any other suggestions? -
I reset my ipad 2 and now it won't connect to the internet
I reset my ipad and now it won't connect to the internet
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

If any of the above solutions work, please post back what solved your problem. It will help others with the same problem.

I have recently upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS7. I am not happy because it is locking up. It takes almost 45 seconds to enter my four digit code. When I type an email it takes 10 to 12 seconds for the letters to appear.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

HOW TO KNOW THE LOCATION OF MY LOST PHONE IT HAS BEEN FOUND ALREADY BUT I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO
Please stop typing in caps. It is difficult to read and rude, Caps are considered shouting on the web.
Odds are that is a scam.

Hello, my phone was being slow so i turned it off. when i went to turn it back on it did the usually white apple logo but it has been on that logo for 15 or more minutes now what do i do?
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Is there something i can do to fix it? Or should I just send it in to apple?
-See if resetting the iPod will allow iTunes to see the iPod so that you can restore the iPod.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next seeif recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
- Let the battery fully drain. Charge and try again
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or arrange fro service by Apple. -
On the Update Apple ID screen to use ICloud, I get a red message that email address is already being used. It does not accept my email address? I do not understand what the screen is asking me. Is this because I am using the apple ID on a netbook for this note or what.
Is there a way to bypass this screen if I don't want to use ICloud? I don't want to screw up the original setup of my imac. If I could get to the desktop, then I would know what OS and programs are in my machine.Hi, hopefully you've called Apple on this... you have 90 days free phone support.
