I sync'd my Outlook contacts to iCloud and now they're gone from my Outlook contace how do I get them back or use them from iCloud

I've attempted to send an email from my [email protected] but it won't recognize the group because somewhere as it was syncing it dropped all the members out of the group and I no longer have any of my contacts in my Outlook address book.  How do I get these contacts back into my Outlook address book without individually re-entering them?

I think i did the same thing. I just got a new MacBook Air and when it synced with iCloud I had doubles of all my contacts. Now I'm missing most of my contacts as well.... Someone please help with a solution to this mistake....

  • I have recently upgraded to iPhone 5 from an iPhone 4. The 4 has been given to a family member and the contacts were deleted. Now they're missing on both phones. How do I get them back?

As the title says. I've lost all of my contacts, from both phones and icloud.

That's the way things are supposed to work...all devices using the same iCloud account are kept in sync. You delete on one device, & it deletes on all, including iCloud. Unless you have a backup that contains your contacts, or they are in a supported application on your computer, they are gone.
You should have deleted the iCloud account, on the iPhone 4, before giving the phone away.

  • HT204150 My iphone contacts got synced with my daughter's ipod contacts and she deleted my contacts and now they are gone from my iphone.  How do I recover my contacts?

My iphone contacts got synced with my daughter's ipod contacts and she deleted my contacts and now they are gone from my iphone.  How do I recover my contacts?

First, your daughter needs her own iCloud account, otherwise her ipod will sync will all your data (email, calendars, contacts...).  If you have a backup or a copy on your computer, you could turn off iCloud syncing on your iphone, then restore from your contacts via iTunes.  After you get a new account for daughter, you can then turn on iCloud.

  • HT204053 My daughter and me use the same cloud ID and to buy songs and now all her contacts ended up on my new iphone 5  and I manually erased all from my phone and now they are gone from her phone.  How does she get back her contacts?

My daughter and me use the same cloud and apple id to buy songs in the past.  I got first iphone 5 and after trying to set up itunes to phone I ended up with all my daughters contacts from her iphone on my iphone.  I then deleted them from my phone one by one and now they are gone from her phone as well.  How does she get them back on hers and what happen????  Help with cloud!

That's what happens when you share the same iCloud account.  First, migrate his phone to a different iCloud account using a different ID (you can continue to share the same ID for other services such as iTunes if you want).  To do this, on his phone save any photo stream photos that he wants to keep to his camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If he are syncing notes with iCloud that he wants to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to him so he can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in his new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; this won't effect your phone), provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted.  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create his new account and choose Merge to upload the data.  After doing this, he can go to icloud.com and safely delete your data from his new account.
Then, if your contacts were on your phone when you last backed it up to iCloud, you can restore them by following Winston Churchill's user tip here: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4841.  This involves turning off your wifi after your phone restarts during the restore process, then saving the contacts on your phone and deleting them from iCloud prior to turning your wifi back on and allowing the restore process to finish.  You can turn off your wifi either by pulling the cord out of the WAN port in your wifi router, or by simply unplugging it.

When you share an iCloud account, any data you sync with the account is merged, and any actions you take on one device (such as deleteing contacts) is synced to all other devices sharing the account.  To avoid this, each person's device(s) should have a separate iCloud account with a separate ID.  (You can continue to share your iTunes account; it does not need to have the same ID as the one used for iCloud.)
To create separate icloud accounts, decide which iPhone will be keeping the current iCloud account.  On the one that will be changing accounts, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, to un-merge the data you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (such as deleting the other person's contacts from your account, and vice versa).
As for recovering the deleted contacts, you can try restoring her phone from her most recent backup.  This may recover the contacts, however it often doesn't.  Restoring to an iCloud backup has to be done in the initial setup process.  If she have any data on your phone now that is not in the backup that she wants to save she will need to do that first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  You will then go through the setup screens as you did when the phone was new. When given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup.  Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

  • Deleted Contact on OSX and now they're gone on iOS - iCloud the answer??

Long story short, I was going through my Contact in the dock of my MacBookPro. As I was doing so, I noticed that many of them were duplicated. Being the anal guy I can be sometimes, I decided to delete them and let the contacts from my iCloud back be used from my iPhone. Unfortunately, when I deleted the contacts in my MBP dock, they also deleted from my iPhone.
... And I don't know how to get them back. I've tried restoring from an iCloud backup (http://support.apple.com/kb/ph12521). That didn't solve the Contacts issue. I have tried doing so with 2 separate & different iPhone backups from different dates but neither have worked.  What do I do?

"The difficulty in restoring iCloud data from a back up is that the back up is older than the current version on iCloud and anything that is restored gets removed again when an iCloud sync occurs."
    What does this mean?
    3.    Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
More specifically, when does this occur?
    4.    As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
Same as the question in #3, when is this?
    ... THANKS!

  • I synced my iphone before downloading newest update and now I've lost my purchased ringtones.  How do I retrive them?

I synced my Iphone before downloading the newest update and lost all my purchased ringtones.  How do I get them back and what do I do differently next time so it doesn't happen again?

I'm having the same problem.  Mine do not show up in the purchased apps.  It seems like I had this problem before with a different upgrade & was able to resolve it by emailing the question to Apple directly.  Now I can't seem to find how to do that on their website or if it's even an option.  I guess we're just supposed to solve these problems ourselves.

  • HT5824 Somehow my yahoo messenger got joined with my contact list on my phone. I deleted them, and now they are gone from my messenger. Is there any way they are saved in the cloud for a period of time so I can recover them?

Somehow my yahoo messenger got linked to my phone contact list. I deleted them from my phone, and now I have lost them in messenger. Is it possible to retrieve them somehow?

Run App Store, authenticate with the AppleID used to register the Mac and check in the purchases tab. If you're entitled, the iLife apps should appear there for re-download.
No, borgeano, in this modern Lionized world physical install media are passé. Need to convince Apple's servers to cough up the goodies.

  • I lost the icloud icon from Outlook. How do I get it back?

I lost icloud icon from MS Outlook on my laptop. How do I get it back so I can sync contacts, etc?

    Hey warren1!
You may want to check to make sure you have the iCloud Control Panel for Windows installed on your computer:
iCloud Control Panel 3.1 for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1455
If it is installed, but is an older version or is having issues, you may want to uninstall the program, then reinstall the latest version. Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!

  • So i've only just updated my phone with itunes - before doing so I gathered some new contacts and now they're gone.

HOW DO I GET THEM BACK!?

Sounds like a problem with the backup. Ay least one other user has reported the same/similar problem.
Try restoring from backup again. If not successful unless y can extract them from the backup.
Are you not syncing the contacts with another app?

  • HT204053 hi i have an ipod which shares same apple id etc as my iphone i was deleting the contacts off my ipod and now they are gone off my phone how can i get them back on my phone? help pls

hiu i have an ipod which shares same itunes/icloud account as my iphone. i deleted the contacts off ipod and they have now gone off my phone too. anyone help, how can iget these back on my phone?

When you share an iCloud account between devices, any action you take on one device (such as deleting contacts) is synced to the others.  (That's want iCloud does; syncs data across devices, keeping the data on the devices the same.)
The only way to recover them now is to try restoring your device to your last backup, or restore them from another backup source.

  • I bought a song today and ALL of my music disappeared... How do i get it back? Does icloud restore it?

I bought a soong today from itunes. While the song was downloading, my phone blinked off. Came back on and finished downloading the song. Problem is now ALL of my other music is gone. Anyone know how to get it back? Does it correct itself after it backs up to the icloud tonite? Can I do a "back up now" to my icloud to retrieve it? Completely lost and frustrated... HELP!

A backup doesn't contain the contents of the Music app (nor the Videos app). Have you tried closing the Music app via the phone's multitasking bar and seeing if the music shows when you re-open the app ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the Music app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
You could also try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.
If that doesn't work then if the music was purchased from iTunes, then depending upon what country that you are in (and if the music is still in your country's store) then you might be able to redownload it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone. Or have you been connecting your phone to your computer's iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over - if you have then you can sync them back.

  • I plugged my IPAd 2 into my computer to charge and it said i could sync my ipad 2 to my ipad 1 so i did for music ect yet when i went back on my ipad 2 ALL of my important notes i took for school were gone off of notes! how do i get them back!?

I plugged my IPAD 2 into my computer to charge and a window popped up saying (through itunes) i could sync from my ipad 1 to get music and other photos ect. I pressed yes and then i went onto my ipad 2 after it was done and ALL of my VERY IMPORTANT notes for my school reading were GONE. HELP!? how do i recover my notes?!

Did you create these notes in the iPad notes App ... I assume?
This support article will explain how you can restore from a backup - which is what you have to do in order to have any chance of recovering your note.
How to backup and restore from a backup
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
But you have to remember, that you will lose any of the notes that you have taken since the date of the last backup. If you synced your iPad last week, then you will lose a whole week of current notes - or whatever notes you have created since your last backup. When you restore from a backup - you restore everything in that backup onto the iPad - that was on the iPad on the time and date of the backup.
If you backup every day, then all of your notes should be recoverable from the backup - except for any notes that you took since you last backed up. There is no foolproof way to recover everything once you start taking more notes or creating new documents or whatever that you do in an app unless you are syncing those notes with iCloud and backing up all of the time or unless the app is set to sync with iCloud as you work on the files - like in Pages, Numbers or Keynote - Apple's iWorks apps.
If you decide to restore from an iTunes backup you should turn off at sync before you try restoring because iTunes will want to backup your iPad right away when you plug it in and you will lose your old or last backup.
