I uploaded 140 pics from my camera's card, but I can't seem to find them in Finder. Have they gone to iCloud, and how do I stop any future uploads going to iCloud?.

I'm concerned mainly with wondering where thy have gone, as I can't find them in Pictures in Finder, but also with thr possibility of going over my free iCloud storage limit of 5Gb. Everything in the finder for Pictures is greyed out with a number of items having coloured tags which are also 'paled out'.
No sign of them in 'All my files', so where have they gone?.

No mention of Windows there. And I saw no connection link for iCloud on my Mac. If there is such a thing, I missed it. In which case please accept my apologies.

You need to contact iTunes Customer Support.

Go to Settings > General > About and see what iOS version you are running. If it is lower than 5, you won't find the software update button. It was added when iOS 5 came out. The current iOS is 5.1.1. To update to the current OS, you'll need to connect to the computer you sync with (this is important - do not connect to a computer you do not sync with as you will lose you apps) and update the software in iTunes. Once you have updated to the 5.1.1, the software update button will be in Settings going forward. Make sure you have a lot of time. Updating from below 5 to 5 or higher is a somewhat lengthy process.

Find a way to contact whoever you bought it from. If you can't do that, turn it over to the police. The phone is probably stolen. There is NO WAY past the activation lock without the credentials for the Apple ID that was used to lock it.

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard, and I have Aperture 3.1.3. Now after I import pics from my camera I get a dialog box so large I can't get to the eject card button. I have to force quit Aperture. How do I fix?

I can drag the dialog box, but I can't move it up far enough to get to the eject card button. The dialogue box contains all the jpeg Numbers I am trying to upload. It has never done that before. It used to be just a smal dialogue box with no jpeg numbers in it.
It is even difficult to get to the Finder with the Dialague box is open. I have to force quit aperture.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Importing just a few pics from the camera, not all

I'm brand new to iPhoto and i want to just bring in a few pics from my camera but right now I can only bring in all of them (200 pics). Does iPhoto really not do this?

There are two ways.
1 - use Image Capture, located in the Applications folder. You can preview the thumbnails and upload selected photos to the desktop from where you can import into iPhoto.
2 - once you get the camera mounted in iPhoto hit the Return key twice. The Edit window will come up with the thumbnails in the photo bin at the top. However the thumbnails will be blank but you can see the photo in the main edit window where you can drag it onto the Library icon or an album icon to import. You can only import one at a time and see one at a time. It works but is very slow. #1 would be my choice and it would be quick and you'd be much less susceptible to auto-shutdown by the camera due to a low battery which can have bad results.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Check your privacy settings.
On the iPad, click SETTINGS
then PRIVACY
then PHOTOS
Look for iMovie and turn it ON
