I had a BT engineer come by my place at the start of the year and did all the tests to make sure everything was "working fine". Now when I finally managed to get an 02 broadband modem the connection never worked so I spent months contacting 02 trying to sort out the problem until my friend recently lend me his phone and I realised the problem was on BT's end since I got no dial tone on the phone itself.
Of course I'm stuck in a contract with BT and I've been paying them since January for literally nothing, is there anything I can do to get my money back? I'm gonna contact them tomorrow to fix the issue but knowing what customer service tends to be like especially with all the outsourcing to India I doubt they'll help me much in re-embursing me what I've already payed them, anyone have any ideas?

Obviously try the official complaints route in BT - but if that does not work, don't forget that the small claims courts only cost about £30, are geared towards individuals rather than institutions, very informal and friendly, and you don't need a lawyer - in fact lawyers are discouraged. You are not liable for the other party's costs if you lose - so the worst that can happen when you take BT to a small claims court is that you lose your court fee and have wasted your time. But if you present a well documented case, and you have a reasonable case, the chances are that you will win and that BT won't even turn up. Getting the money is a little harder, but if they won't cough up you can send in court bailiffs to seize properly as long as you choose the right address. Seriously - the small claims staff are very helpful to litigants, they will even help you fill in the forms. Apply at your local county court and ask about the small claims service. Start with a clear letter to BT head office outlining your complaint in polite clear detailed language. Keep copies of everything, and use the Royal Mail signed for delivery service to prove you posted it and that they received it.

    On October 11th I started an EDGE agreement for the NOTE 3. I make a $92.30 payment over the phone (which is listed above). The lady said it would arrive two days after the phone comes out. It didn't show up two days after it came out and my little Droid X went dead on me. I called customer service and asked if the phone has been shipped yet. They said it has not. I asked if I could pick it up in the store instead. They said yes. They said they would cancel the shipment so I can pick it up in the store. I end up going to the store at Torrance Crossroads and I was just about to get the phone. Then sales rep was trying to force me into buying the case and charger package that was a deal with the phone for $100.I said no and he got hurt and quiet over it. 5 minutes later he comes up to me saying the edge agreement is not cancelled and they can not give me the phone. I asked if there is anything he can do or call customer service and verify because customer service told me it could be done. He said no and walked away.
    I call customer service and they say that they stopped the order and told me to go back to the store and try again. I did not wanna see the sales rep at Torrance Crossroads so I go to another Verizon store on hawthorne blvd in Torrance. I try the same process and the same thing happens. I tell them to call customer service and verify what is going on. I wait for 2 hours while they talk to customer service and the financial department. They tell me they will start another edge agreement on my girlfriends line and give me the note 3 so I can use it on my line. They said they waved the fee through some promotion since I went through a lot of trouble getting the phone and I should be getting a check in the mail for the $92.30 I paid on 10/11/13.
    Ever since then I have been paying for two edge agreements at $29.16 a piece. I have also been paying an extra $8 for insurance on a note 3 that I do not have. I have not gotten reimbursed the $92.30 I paid on 10/11/13. I have been calling customer service since December and have not gotten any where. Today was the last straw when the guy put me on hold and I ended up getting transferred to the sales department... What should I do? Is there anyone that can actually help my situation out. I already suspended my line and will do so for the next 5 months until this is fixed.

  • I have just updated my iPhone 4 with latest IOS 7 and now wi fi greyed out and Bluetooth not working. Tried reset, restore everything - no use. Its out of warranty too. I refuse to pay for a new phone when clearly this is an apple issue not phone issue.

    I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version.  I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again.  I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again.  My blue tooth doesn't work either.  I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this.  When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue.  My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!!  I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue.  Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it.  Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
    June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple.

    I recently bought an iphone3GS from USA and jail broke it. Since I heard the there are lots of disadvantages I thought to unlock it officially through the original owner (in copy). He assisted me and confirmed that he unlocked it with AT& T (See the attachment). According to the instructions I restored the phone. But it is not activating with “Activation server is currently not available, please try again or try with iTunes”
    When I try with iTunes , it says “you haven’t inserted a SIM” even though I insert the original AT&T SIM.

    If you want just the originals, then you can go into the Aperture library (right click on it and do "show package contents"). Inside is a directory called "Masters" and you can find the original files in a bunch of subfolders.
    But... you'll lose all adjustments, keywords, and other information, and just have the files as they were imported originally from the cameras.
    Easiest is probably to buy Aperture and update everything, and then migrate to the Photos application down the road if that's what you want. Aperture 3.0 came out in 2010 (five years ago!) so it's not like you've upgraded in a while

    I checked your account and here are the answers to your questions
    1) Your Online Number is not active as it expired in the beginning of August. Your last payment was in 2010 for 12 months and more than a year has passed. Online Numbers need to be extended manually.
    2) You can get a new number or the same number if nobody else has not purchased since August. You can purchase Online Number from: http://www.skype.com/intl/en/features/allfeatures/online-number
    3) This charge 2.99USD is paid every month for Unlimited US&Canada which enables you to place calls to US and Canada phones. It's extended automatically since you have not cancelled it so far: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1881/How-do-I-cancel-my-subscription

    4) In the future please make sure you extend your Online Number if you need it and make sure you cancel calling subscription if you don't need it.

  • Dead phone line/broadband - engineer no show

    Hello all.
    On Friday I noticed my hh4 was orange with a red flashing bb sign, I picked up the phone to call bt but the phone line was also dead. I proceeded to do all the necessary checks to rule out my equipment and internal wiring and called from the mobile. I was promised an appointment saturday the 12th between 1-6pm so changed my plans to sit by the window but nobody showed. I called bt again to find out why and was told I would be called back, this also didn't happen. When I finally got through again (today) I was told I would have to wait until monday to be told why the guy didn't show up. I received a text this morning telling me they were still trying to fix the problem, fine but nobody actually started in the first place. Any advice on how I can get this sorted? I'd rearrange the appointment but since it was not my fault I don't see why I should have to. It's left everyone in the house behind in work, which could have been worked around had we have been told nobody was coming yesterday, so I am obviously living in a frustrated and fed up household. What are my options here?

    you need to get back to faults on 151 as until the voice line fault is fixed your broadband is not going to improve

  • It has now been 8 days without a phone line

    Hi all,
    It has now been 8 days since I've had a working phone line.
    An engineer visited a couple of times over a 4 day period and said he had located the problem. He left 4 days ago and nothing has been done since and I've had no correspondence from BT and still no working phone.
    It isn't just affecting me but also many other households in my vicinity. I would have thought they would have prioritised this fault, especially as there are several vulnerable OAP's affected and we're in quite a rural location.
    Does anyone have any advice on how to get this escalated to someone who has some authority and could perhaps give the technical support team a kick up the butt ?

    The network is provided and maintained by Openreach not BT retail your provider if there are many people suffering from the same problem then it is obviously a major network problem and it will take a longer repair time then normal there have been a lot of cable thefts across the UK you may well be suffering from one of those problems have you checked the fault checker in your MY BT for a progress report

  • Can no longer see usage details of other phone lines since updating mobile app

    I just updated the My Verizon Mobile App on my Galaxy Nexus. Since the update, I've lost the ability to see usage of 2 other phone lines I have on my account. Before the update, it was simple to see usage details of each of the 3 lines on my plan. Since I pay the bill and monitor usage, this was the app's most important feature to me. I've tried every menu option and usage detail button but cannot see usage details other than that of my own phone. Is there a way to see usage of other phones as was easily done before the update?

    The primary account issue is likely the problem. My line was the second to be added and is not the "owner account" on My Verizon. I will call and get that changed when wait times are not usually long as I was just warned by the recorded message that answered my call to 611. It must be a change with the update as I was able to see other lines before. Thanks. PS. I submitted this question to Verizon thru their website as an email. I did get a call today that went to voicemail and ironically the connection was so bad I couldn't get the call back number from the agent that was nice enough to call.

  • Why can't I have the Samsung Haven replaced without paying for a new phone since the battery needed for this model will not hold a charge more then 24 hrs?

    The Haven is my husbands phone and he calls me from work every night and we talk about 15 minutes.  He calls my verizon phone so there is no charge but the problem we have is the phone will not stay charged.  We took it in and had it tested along with the house charge and the car charge.   All three device are fine so they ordered us a new battey.  We put that in and the same thing happens.  We don't text, receive text, take or send pictures.    We have texting blocked so nothing can use up his battery and yet it still dies.  Can you please tell me how we can get this phone replaced without buying a new one.  The contract isn't up for renewal until Oct. 2013.  We have been long time customers of verizon and I feel we should be able to get a product replaced if it is a defective product the company is selling.  It seems Verizon knows there is a problem since there have been so many complaint filed in the last 9 months.  If we buy something from Home Depot or Lowes and that product is not working right, they replace it and they go back to the companies that supply it.  I am willing to bet Samsung would take Verizon,s complaint more seriously then they would an average consummer.  Please tell me Verizon is finally listening to their customers.

    We definitely don't want you having a phone described as a lemon so let's work on getting everything back up to a peachy status. What you've indicated is certainly an issue. So, let's fix this.
    First, when it comes to your calls not ringing or registering in your log, my recommendation is to update your phone. To do this, simply dial *228, choose option 2, wait for completion and for your phone to restart itself. This will have it resync with our network for optimal usage. Regarding the battery, personally I like to pull my battery every now and again for up to 60 seconds before reinserting (all while the phone is powered off). If you don't notice improvement, we may need to look into a replacement if life is shortlived below what was described prior.
