I've dropped my E90 today :-(

I "managed" to drop my E90 today, from about 1m on a concrete floor. I have one hindge a little bit scratched, but the microphone stopped working ! The other party cannot hear me when I make a call, and the videoa are recorded without sound. I have taken the battery out and put it back on, but it is the same. However, it works perfect with the hands-free. So it is a hardware damage. It seems that I will have to leave it in service after all, even hough I have avoided this for a long time.
Now, I had many Nokia phones before, I have dropped all of them from even higher, but none of them got hardware problems. I have dropped my previous communicators (9300 and 9300i) so many times that I had to change their entire cases (they were cracked all over) But it never happen anything like this before, not even from a tumble down the stairs for one entire floor !
So, if you ask me, I preffer a plastic case which cracks on impact but it protects the internal components, rather than a metal case which holds better in case of an impact, but sends the shock inside. Because now I have a phone with no cracks but unsusuable without the hands-free.

Dropped My Iphone today

I just dropped my iphone and it damaged the button onthe right upper corner on the phone (sleep/wake button). The button is depressed into the case and wont allow me to put the phone to sleep or reset when holding the home button. Does anyone know how much tis will cost and has anyone had this problem? Thank you

If you are worried about damage caused by dropping, you might want to consider something with more impact-absorbing properties - something like the Speck ToughSkin or the iSkin Revo. The thin coverings seem designed to protect against everyday wear and not collisions.
After applying the Bodyguardz, the fit is pretty good. It covers virtually all the body with the exception of the areas that require access for device functionality and the small gaps between the corner sections of the film. The corners do pose a challenge during application but with patience and time they finally remained adhered to the case. I've not had experience with the Invisible Shields so I don't know how they compare.
I used the Power Support Crystal Film offered in the online Apple Store to protect the screen. Extremely easy to apply - a matter of a couple minutes or less if aligned correctly the first time. Doesn't require all the stickiness of the Bodyguardz and it seems to be a tougher material.

Help! "Fixed" credit issues and score dropped today!

For some reason, my score dropped 13 points today. There's 5 alerts on MyFico -- but I just had a $16,000 CO deleted. I can't imagine that would make my score drop. I mistakenly paid all my CCs down to 0 before knowing this wasn't good. My disputes haven't been removed yet. LVNV promised me 3x they would remove from my CR and the alert said it's still there! I called them and they claimed they haven't reported it this month. A couple other old COs are there so I can't think why on earth it would drop 13 pts. I'm in a very tight window for FHA. I'm fine but I can't fall at all and thought my score would bump up a little.a) what can I do quickly to bump up my score just a little?b) what can I do to run a small balance on one of my CCs (because I learned 0 is bad) when it won't update until the end of the month?c) what do you do when these CA say they're going to delete several times (it's almost falling off) and they don't? We are going to underwriting soon, in August, and I'll be so upset if all my efforst resulted in a 13 pt drop. To me, it makes no sense. When a mortgage co pulled a hard inquiry it jumped 11 pts last week! !!? Advice appreciated!

You might be able to put a small amount on one of your credit cards and call them and as for them to report now, and not wait for the normal cycle. I'm not sure which cards are more likely to do it than others. I know I've read on these boards examples of people doing that.

Phone not working after dropped

dropped the phone today and it started freezing after that. i tried to charge it in my SONY docking station; and i had a friz noise and the SONY STATION BLEW UP AS WELL; double whammy and my phone never turned back on either... occasionally the apple logo will come and then turn off.
Need help...

Your only solution is to get your phone repaired or replaced - and likely the Sony dock as well.
Unless you are a skilled tech with the proper tools and testing equipment (costing many times more than a new iPhone), there is no way for you to diagnose and fix it yourself.

Dropped Ipod nano 4th gen

ok last night I dropped my Ipod nano 4th gen without a case on my tile floor. It was about a 3-4 feet drop.
So today I was running and than after a couple mins of running with the song still playing my ipod buttons froze, nothing worked the screen remained black but the music still played. than after a few seconds trying to make the screen show back up my whole volume limit raised up maxed with a weird twisted sound to it. also, every now and than my songs would pause than play again without me doing anything to it.
I also was running in cold weather, is that the case?
Could of me dropping my ipod caused this to happen?
or can dropping my ipod cause any problems at all?

My Ipod was dropped and is now dented on the side.

I dropped my iPod today, there is now a dent in the metal on the side. Because of that the is a large black spot on the screen. What can I do to fix this and how much will it cost?

Dropped my ipod . . .

So i accidentally dropped my ipod today and since then the screen is completely blank(white). It still plays music but it hasnt responded to being reset, plugged in, charged, etc. When I connect it to my computor, itunes wont open. any ideas?

When you dropped your iPod, your LCD display probably bust and broke. Your LED backlight, however, still works. Since iTunes won't open up when you connect your iPod, there could also be another problem with your iPod.
There's not much hope for your iPod unless you replace the LCD.

I dropped my ipad 2 and now screen is green

I dropped my ipad 2 and now screen is green. ipad 2 Wi-Fi 16GB.

I dropped my iPad today and immediately the screen was completely distorted. Colors changed, images fuzzy, slow as can be, very hard to turn off or turn on. I googled my problem and came to the https://discussions.apple.com site to read what I should do. Not surprisingly, other people had this same problem. What is INCREDIBLE is the way they suggested to resolve it. I was hesitant at first but since SEVERAL people all said that it worked, I figured to give it a try. A few people suggested SLAPPING THE BACK OF THE IPAD, NOT GENTLY, BUT FIRMLY. A few good slaps and it looked a bit better. Then my husband decided to DROP THE IPAD FROM ABOUT 2 FEET IN THE AIR ONTO THE CARPET, in a totally horizontal position. THE SCREEN IS NOW PERFECT!!
For the last 2 or three weeks, the iPad has been very slow to load my apps, turning on and shutting down. AS SOON AS I DROPPED THE IPAD, as described above, THE IPAD IS FAST, FAST, FAST.
I know, it sounds ridiculous that this should work, but it did. I am certain that an Apple techie would never suggest this as a solution, but I swear to you, this has worked.

IPhoto file creation date inconsistencies during drag and drop

I have noticed that if I drag and drop a photo from iPhoto to Finder, the file creation dates in Finder are inconsistent.
(This question is related to drag and drop only and not File->Export, which always uses the export date and timestamp for the file creation date and thus does not suit my needs).
TEST A -- If the EXIF DateTimeOriginated is 01/01/2013, and today's date is 03/03/2013, then:
In some cases when I drag a file to Finder, the EXIF date is used as the file modification/creation date in Finder
In some cases, today's date is used as the file modification/creation date in Finder
In some cases, a date in between the EXIF date and today's date is used
It appears that for case A1, these are files that do not have a modified copy. That is, if you select the photo in iPhoto and then click "File" -> "Reveal In Finder", the "Modified File" choice will be greyed out.
For cases A2 & A3, iPhoto has inexplicably decided to create modified versions of these files either today or sometime in the past.
TEST B -- I have read that unexplained modifications are tied to the auto-rotate function in cameras, and it does seem to be the case when I performed the test below:
Select a large group of landscape format photos (these would not have been auto-rotated), then drag and drop to Finder. The file creation dates are set to the EXIF date
Add some portrait photos to the group in (1). Now the file creation date of ALL photos including the non auto-rotated photos are set to the current date
The behaviour in B2 is clearly wrong, since the landscape photos should be the same as in B1. This is bug #1.
Furthermore, iPhoto appears to be inconsistent with when these modifications are made. For example, I dragged & dropped an auto-rotated photo on 02/02/2013, then dragged & dropped it again today, then the file creation date in Finder (and also the date of the modified file in iPhoto, as shown in iPhoto File->Reveal In Finder->Modified File) can either the EXIF date (01/01/2013), the late of the last drag & drop (02/02/2013), or today's date (03/03/2013); there does not appear to be any rhyme or reason to this. This is bug #2.
In any case, saying "you should never use drag & drop in iPhoto" (as I have read in some other forum posts) isn't a solution, because Apple should either (a) support this function correctly or (b) remove it altogether. Furthermore, I regularly burn photos to disk for others so having the file date and timestamps correctly set to the EXIF date helps keeping the photos sorted in the directory listings for multiple OS, so File->Export isn't a solution.

File data is file data. Exif is photo data. A file is not a photo. It's a container for a photo.
When you export you're not exporting a file. You're exporting a Photo. The medium of export is a new file. That file is created at the time of export, so that's its creation date. The Photo within that file is dated by the Exif.
There are apps that will modify the file date to match the Exif.
The variation you're seeing is likely due to the changes in how the iPhoto library works over the past few versions. Drag and drop is handy, but is not a substitute for exporting, nor intended to be.

Connection drops and other problems

I've given up with getting any sense from the Indian call centres so hoping for some enlightenment here!
I've had the unlimited total broadband package since April 2010 and have had trouble-free usage right up to about a month ago. Now the service is just awful and I'm getting the following problems:
Broadband connection drops sporadically. Some days it'll be fine and stable, but others it's flakey - for instance it's dropped 3 times today already. Sometimes I'll get an orange light on the BT hub, but at other times it's showing all blue, although the connection has gone. Sometimes resetting the hub fixes it for awhile and sometimes it doesn't and connection comes back all on its own. Today I've had to reset the hub twice already!
At times I'll have a connection, but only to certain types of traffic. For instance I find that I can quite often do peer-to-peer stuff such as instant message, but all web browsing times out.
Speeds bounce around all over the place. I'm in a rural area so speeds have never been stellar, but at times it'll suddenly start crawling and can take 10-15 seconds to load a simple page like google.co.uk
The biggest issue I have is that my local exchange has BT wholesale as the sole provider, so even if I move ISPs it'll still be the same service, but I'll just have a middle man to deal with. It's particularly frustrating as I work from home and my office is hundreds of miles away so I absolutely rely on a good broadband connection for my living!
Does anyone have any ideas on what these issues could be? Much thanks in advance.

Help please connection keeps dropping!

Hi, so over the past weeks, days etc ive lost count! My connection keeps dropping. Was using the bt home hub 2.0 was getting all sorts of errors. After getting fed up my dad brings home a homehub 3.0 type b which got given to him brand new by a friend. I dropped my Ipod and now the click wheel is not working anymore

Hey! I hope you can help me! I dropped my Ipod today, and now the Click wheel doesn't work anymore! The IPod broke open, but I put it together again! When I came home I connected it with the computer to see if "its" alive. And it connected and updated and everything was okay, instead of the Click wheel control! When it dropped there was "Hold" and now I can't deactivate "Hold". So I think, maybe the click wheel doesn't work because "Hold" was activated the moment the ipod dropped! BUt I don't know! Maybe something inside the ipod a soldering joint got torn apart, or something, I don't know! I just know the click wheel doesn't work, anything else seems to be okay! Can anyone help me???

heres what i think but im not an ipod know it all so what i say might not help but any way...
And it connected and updated and everything was okay, instead of the Click wheel control!
well this sound okay so it probly isnt anything to do with the hard drive if it is updating ect...
I think it would have to do with the fact that the hold lock was on... have you tried jigling the hold switch back and forward a bit? that often helps...other wise i think you should take it to an apple store and see what they can do.

Sudden Drop of Service..........................

I'v Had my iPhone 4 now for about a month, and Iv always had 4-5 bars of service in my house. And all of a sudden the last couple of days iv only been getting 1 bar.
Whats going on! I'v had about 3 dropped calls just today.
Any help is highly appreciated!

Resetting network settings or restoring your iPhone may or may not help. You may have tower outages in your area as they degrade overtime and brownout. You can report your outages by dialing 611 or look up the Carrier's number on the contact us page of your account management.
