When itry to mirror it wouldn't show on tv but it would show the blue line at the top the. It would go back to black

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't fix the problem Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

It sounds like you may have a GPU, display or display connection problem.  A visit to an Apple store genius bar for a definitive evaluation is your best option.

  • Has any one seen a very slim blue line suddenly apear vertically on monitor, about 5" from right side of laptop screen?

I very thin blue line has suddenly appeared vertically on the right side of screen, about 5 or 6" from the edge.  It's going right through everything including the upper menu. What is going on here?  Anyone have ideas? I was just looking at some email at the time.  I restarted computer, but the line reappeared.

    Hello,
Mine had a vertical line running through the center of the display. Didn't look too bad until another line appear some time after.
I replaced the display myself, but didn't bother with taking the actual display panel from the housing.
It's lot more easier to replace the screen with the housing intact. I got one that was working from eBay for £50 ($76) It was a simple case of removing the top cover (keyboard), unpuagging the monitor cables (Airport cables) and unscrewing the display. Lift away the old one and replace with the replacement one.
Display removal instructions can be found here:
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing+PowerBook+G4+Aluminum+17-Inch+1-1.67+GHz+ Display/258/1
With the right tools and careful attention, your PowerBook G4 display can be easily fixed for less than $100 (£60)
Since then I've had no further problem with my PowerBook.
    Hope this helps.

  • I get a blue line that runs left and right only on the games section, what is that?

I got a blue line that runs left and right  & viceversa when I m on the games, can somebody help me? I don't know if that is a virus....I never got one so I don't know...

You do not have a virus. It sounds like you have turned on Switch Control, which can be turned back off in Settings > General > Accessibility. You probably have the Accessibility Shortcut feature turned on, causing a triple-click on the home button to activate or deactivate that feature. You can disable that shortcut in the same Accessibility settings.

  • Why is the unlock-screen of my iPad mini showing black or blue lines?

3 days ago, i bought an iPad mini at the apple store. Everything is working perfectly, but ever since I first started it, I'm noticing some black or blue lines at the bottom of the screeen on the unlock screen. They disappear after one second.
I already updated to the latest version, and I did a hard-reset, but this didn't help.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

HI i have the same issue with my ipad mini retina. it appeared too out of nowhere after  more than a month of using it.  my device wasn't dropped or exposed to any liquid substance. At first only a single line appeared and then it grew to this. How did you fix yours? did you return it?

  • Had my display 2 days and i have a blue line right side

Seems the display has a blue line right side which i know others have had the same problem. Surely i can take to local Apple store for replacement ? i booked genius appointment. Any comments would be nice!

Your screen has been the unlucky victim of a random defect in the bond between metal and glass on the LCD panel. An LCD display is based on millions of semiconductors deposited on the whole glass area of the LCD screen most of us are all looking at right now while reading this. Other electronics required to drive the transistors on the LCD panel are located on conventional circuit boards with copper metal used as conductors or "traces" to connect all the electronics together. Getting metal-based traces to hook up to glass-based electronics requires special bonding techniques. As you can imagine, you can't just use a soldering iron to attach a metal wire to glass.
It's a tricky process but one that the LCD manufacturing companies had to overcome to make LCDs a mainstream technology. Unfortunately, defects do happen in numbers measured in very low occurrences per millions and millions produced. Yours happens to be one of the unlucky ones.
Since it is so new, Apple may do an in-store replacement of the whole assembly for you. Or they may do an on-site replacement of the screen, so you shouldn't be too greatly inconvenienced by, for example, having them send it away for a repair. At least that is how I believe it will be handled. Either way, they should know that it is a screen defect and that replacing the main logic board or controller board will not fix the issue. The screen is what needs replacing.

  • Thin blue line on Iphone 5 screen

Was wondering if anybody has any ideas as to why I would have a very thin blue line, running about three quarters of the way up my screen, about half a cm from the left. It's only noticable when the screen has a white background. Otherwise the phone is in perfect working order and is just over a year old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello there, SuePop.
The following Knowledge Base article gives us a few recommendations for troubleshooting issues with your display:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
    Particularly:
    Display image issues
This can include bright or dark pixels, lines in video, or sections of video missing.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Verify the issue is not content related, by viewing different content.
If the image is too dark, adjust the brightness. In General Settings choose Brightness and Wallpaperand slide the slider.
If the issue persists, there are recommendations at the end of the article as well:
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • My PC has blue screened twice in the past week so I force quit it it came back on a few times after that it is now grey screening with inch wide blue lines from top to bottom the apple logo is there and it is trying to boot up but nothing happening

My Mac has blue screened a couple of times this week it started to work a couple of times after that but now it is grey screening with inch wide blue lines from top to bottom the apple logo is also there it is trying to boot up again but won't. Not sure don't know anything about how to fix things but I suspect the fan has stopped working as I can't hear one. The problem I have I now live in Turkey and I am 1000 km from the nearest apple shop which is in Istanbul I believe and I now live in Didim, Altinkum I don't trust the everyday Turkish shop to take it to as they will tell you they know how to fix it but will probably make it worse, typical in Turkey. Please can someone help as we use it for our business and obviously I need it up and running ASAP I am using IPad and iPhone at moment but can't access my files which are on PC.

    Thanks for that information!
I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?!

  • My Mac has developed 2, 1 inch wide white lines vertically down either side of the screen. Is this the end?     lines

My iMac has developed two 1 inch wide white vertical lines down either side. Is this the end? Or is there a fix?

    LornaDer,
Run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode, you probably will need to run the test 2-4 times as errors do not always appear on the first pass. If you get errors then that indicates you have a hardware issue and need to take the machine into an Apple Store or AASP to be professionally diagnosed. At that point you can then determine your options.

  • Blue line at the bottom of my display

My MacBook locked up (I couldn't eject a DVD nor could I turn the machine off) so I had to remove the battery to turn the machine off. When I turned the machine back on (1) the MacBook's display remained dark and (2) my Cinema Display had somehow changed its display resolution to 800x600. I fixed the Cinema Display's resolution easily enough and got the MacBook's display running by changing its resolution to 1280x768 (60 Hz). I don't know what the original MacBook display resolution was, but 1280x768 appears to be it. The problem is that now there is a half-inch wide light blue line running across the bottom of the display.
What should I be doing to get rid of that line?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Don

The computer appears to have worked out the problem itself. After hitting "Close" and then restarting (as opposed to selecting "Restart"), the display menu came up with "Cinema Display" and "LCD Display" windows set at 1280x800. Everything's back to normal. The puzzling part of this was that prior to shutting off the machine, the display menus were "Cinema Display" and "Display" (not "LCD Display"). I don't know where the "Display" window came from, but now it's gone and things work fine.
    Thanks,
    Don

  • Blue Line moves across screen in Newsstand

While reading some publications, I am getting a blue line about an inch wide that continually moves across and back on the page while I'm reading. What is causing this?

Did you restore your phone with an OS of at least 10.2.1? Anything earlier than that will not run Android apps.
    Cheers.
    - If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

  • 13" Macbook pro.. Screen washout?? IDK White and blue line on the sides..

Noticed lately that I have some LED washout on the left and right side of the screen that comes in about 1/2 inch, also the bottom has a crazy blue line washout.
What is all the terms used for monitor problems.
    Bleed, washout, ghosting and etc.
    Thanks

I suggest taking it in for testing and diagnosis. Kernel panics may be either hardware or software related.

  • Updated to Premiere CC 2014 and AE CC 2014 and now have blue lines/blue imprints of windows and crashes after 5 minutes of use or on start up

    iMac - 27 ", late 2012
Processor  3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
    Software  OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)
After I updated from CS6 to CC 2014, my screen started to display blue lines and/or a blue imprint of a previously closed window, and Premiere CC 2014 and AE CC 2014 began crashing after about five minutes of use. Also, an error message popped up telling me to update my CUDA driver. I took the iMac into Apple and after updating the CUDA driver in store with an Apple associate, the error message went away. They were concerned about the blue lines, and after 3 days of hardware testing, they determined that the screen was not failing, the hardware was in great shape and the lines and crashing must be a software related issue. I took the computer home, uninstalled and reinstalled AE using the appropriate installer, and rebooted. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere using the Premiere installer and rebooted again. During the second restart a blue imprint of the Google Chrome window I had had open before the reboot was imprinted over the welcome/password screen. I typed in my password, opened up the Premiere project I'd been working on and immediately, the always dramatic message "A serious issue as occurred..." popped up. I tried opening it again, saved a new recovery copy and started to work on the project. Five minute later it froze up and I had to force quit. This happened two more times, both roughly after five minutes of use....back to square one.
Obviously, this is seriously hurting my workflow. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated!

... a blue imprint of the Google Chrome window I had had open before the reboot was imprinted over the welcome/password screen.
The apple guys said this wasn't a hardware error? I don't know software errors to save imprints throughout a restart. If I were to live dangerously and assume anything it would be that you got a failing graphics processor.
Ever tried cloning your boot drive and then doing a complete wipe and re-install of OS and CC?
