If you want to track it, then put it in Lost Mode. If you erase it then you can't track it.

Sorry, there is no magic way to find it. You will need to search for it, as you would with any other object.

there is nospecial way to locate your iPod, Apple will not help. Your SN is only good for identifying the iPod as yours if it is found.

I like the new iOS 7 for iphone... But i think it's not a good idea to allow switch the iphone on flight mode when it is locked.. What happens if your iphone is stolen or lost? You couldn't be able to locate it using find my iphone... Can i remove this from the bottom menu?
And have your phone set to require a passcode before it can be accessed.

I've lost my iPhone5 like 40 hours ago. I already turned the Lost mode on with Find my iphone app. But my phone has no data plan so it could not connect to the internet at all. I reported to the police, too. What else can I do? Can anybody advise?

If you activated the Find My iPhone service (in Settings>icloud), and if the device's batteries still have a charge, the device is not turned off and has not been reset and is connected to wifi, then you can try to track it. Using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and look at the Find My iPhone page. On a device, invoke the Find My iPhone app (get it for free at the itunes app store) and log into the icloud account. Note: The Find My iPhone **app** does not turn on the service, you can only do that through Settings>icloud.
If the device is listed as "offline", then one of the requirements listed above is not met (like being connected to wifi, or if the device was stolen and the thief reset it). -

You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely. -

If an iPad was lost or stolen and the person who has it has changed the SIM card, would we still be able ot track it on iCloud? Also would changing the SIM card result in a response "offline" on the iCloud?

Changing the SIM, will not stop the phone being tracked. It can even be tracked when there is no SIM at all in the phone. -

I was wondering if restoring your ipod touch will erase everything on it because my computer does not seem to be recongizing my ipod nor is itunes. And I was afraid that if I restored my ipod that everything will be gone from it. The reason I am worried about this is that I have important notes that i have typed on it and a lot of aps that I do not want to put back on (too much work).If you restore to original settings it will erase everything on your iPod Touch.

If you must restore you can recover back to the last backup created when you last synced your iPod. -
When you change accounts on your ipod touch does it wipe everything off it?
My family shared an account on itunes, but my laptop recently stopped working and everything got wiped off it. So when i got it back there was no more spaces to authorise my laptop on the itunes account. I then have made a new account but i don't know if i connect my ipod to that new account all of my games and music etc. will be taken off it.

There is no reason to do this, that I can see.
Just deauthorize all computers on your old account and then authorize the active computers. -

In fact I am chocked that when I login using find my iphone I got a location while I do not remember ever that I had enabled find my iphone before it was stolen !!!!!!!!!! and there was a passcode for it so how come !!!!!
