I want to use gmail on mail app mountain lion. I have 7000 mails on server and want only mails beginning this year to be on the mail app how to do this?
please help how to solve this problem
iCloud is not supported on Snow Leopard, you should upgrade to Lion.

Hi. I am using Gmail through Mail in Mountain Lion on my iMac, as well as Mail in my iPad and iPhone. Generally speaking Mail seems to sync well across the three machines. However for some reason when I view an email in my inbox on either my iPhone or my iPad, the inbox on my iMac does not reflect the fact the email has been read: ie, while the email is marked as having been 'read' across both my iPad and iPhone, it remains 'unread' on my iMac. It is really frustrating and stuffs up the process managing the flow of emails. Is anyone able to help me please? Thanks so much.

JordanHi SB. Thanks for your advice. I checked and I am using the recommended settings. I'm still not sure how to fix this. It's very irritating! I will read an email on my ipad, then hit my imac and see that the email is sitting unread in my Mail inbox.

why would it state under the "more about this mac" that i already have10.8.3 and then in the app store say i need to "resume" do you know what i mean? is it possible i already did download mountain lion entirely once? I am confused and don't want it twice
This is cause by the way the App Store checks to see if an application is installed on your system.
Basically when an app is installed it is in the Applications folder and this is where the MAS looks for them. So it looks at your purchase history for the apps you bought and looks in the Applications folder to see if they are installed. If an app is in your purchase history but not in the Applications folder the MAS says you need to install it.
For normal apps this works fine but the OS doesn;t install into the Applications folder. So the MAS sees you have Mountain Lion in your purchase history but it's not in the Applications folder and so it says you need to download it.
Hopefully one of these days Apple wil fix this.

My friend changed the language on my phone I then changed it back to english, and for some apps I download it is in a different language, i have tried restoring my phone and it is still doing this, know how to help? Developers control which versions of their app is in the store. If a developer releases a new version and pulls the old version then it will no longer be available in the store.
If you sync the device that has the older app in ITunes on your computer and choose to transfer purchases, you will then have your own saved copy of the app. Then, sync the other device and select to install that app from the list of locally saved purchases. -
I am unable to send to an address that I have been using for a long time. All aspects have been investigated but with no solution ,has anyone encountered this problem before?

The message seems to totally disappear. It is going to an AOL customer in UK. I changed their address to start with a lowercase letter & the message was returned to me by AOL as undeliverable, I then changed the first letter of the address beck to upper case, the same I have been using for years, but again it disappeared.

I have not upgraded to Mountain Lion yet, have 3 major apps (acrobatpro) and adobe image ready, and apple works that is not compatible, does anyone know how long snow leopard will be supported. Don't want to upgrade until I purchase new iMac next year.
Consider running your Adobe and AppleWorks software in Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) installed in Parallels in Lion or Mt. Lion:

well i set a passcode on my iphone 4 and ive forgotten it i have no idea what to do and i only just got this phone plus i dont want to do these bypassing with emergancy call just in case i get it wrong plz help (urgent)
If you set the phone to erase on 10 failed passcodes - then just keep typing and it will wipe itself.
Otherwise I believe you can set it to recovery mode and restore etc.. via iTunes... There is no easy way as the passcode is designed to protect the phone exactly against what you are trying to do now...

I want to connect my other system(ubuntu) using mac remote desktop client, But i could not locate remote desktop client in moutain lion.In Ubuntu 12.xx use Dash to find "Desktop Sharing" and set the preferences, including requiring a password.
Then in Ubu use System Settings > Network to determine your Ubu machine's IP address, such as 192.168.1.13.
On the Mountain Lion Mac do Finder > Go > Connect to Server and enter: vnc://192.168.1.13 or whatever your IP is. Enter the password that you used in the Ubu Desktop Sharing setup, when asked.
On the Ubu machine answer the question that pops up asking for permission to connect. Your Ubu screen will now show up on the Mac, and you can remote control it. Here I am running "Octave" (a math program) on the Ubu machine, remotely.
Works great! BTW, you can do this from an iPad too, using a VNC client such as Mocha VNC Lite. You can even run both remotes simultaneously.

What version of mac are you running? Have you downloaded any of the drivers/software off the website yet? If not, you will need to download and install the CUPS Printer Driver and the Canon IJ Network tool.

Since installing Mountain Lion i have a problem with Mail. I delete a number of messages from the same person but keep the newest message in my Inbox. I actually delete them from the Trash. The next time i open Mail the deleted messages are back again. Can anybody please help as this is getting annoying. Thanks in Anticipation.
Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
First, empty the Trash.
Triple-click the line below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

iCal reports that it can't find server, and lots of data from several years ago is trying to get attention. Cannot bring up calendar in any view to use. also keeps loading unused calendar websites from long ago. I can' remove them. what to do?
UPDATE: I had 36 Safari windows open and minimized on the dock from my last session; 20 of those windows failed to open b/c Safari "couldn't find the server"; I just went to the URL bar of all 20 pages and clicked return, and all 20 pages loaded perfectly, without dropping any images or losing formatting. This is a puzzle!!!

How can i use an external screen on mountain lion when i'm running on battery power?
Hey all:
I just upgraded from snow leopard to Mountain Lion, and i use external screen, keyboard and mouse all the time....
On Mountain Lion it's perfect when the power adaptor is connected as soon as you close the LID your external screen becomes the primary screeen and it's fully functional desktop (no mirroring or extension screen)
But the problem is when i'm in battery power, in snow leopard i used to close my lid my mac goes to sleep then i wake it up using the mouse and immediately open the LID so it doesn't go to sleep again and now i'm running on battery power with a primary external screen.
Any idea how to use an external screen on mountain lion while i'm on battery power? (i know i can use mirroring but i want just 1 primary screen and the laptop screen would be turned off )

Question about free downloading Mavericks. On checking Mavericks before downloading that there are no Bangla language in the list. I occasionally use Bangla in my present Mountain Lion. My concerns is, if I download Mavericks then what will happen to Bangla language in mountain lion? Samar Laha
No reason to be embarassed. You are not alone.
You will need an external drive. If you have a Time Machine drive without enough disk space you can create the clone there however it's advised that you keep your Time Machine and clone on separate drives. If the drive dies you loose both types of backup.
Download and install the clone software. Everyone has their favorite. These are the two most common applications used. I prefer SuperDuper because of it's simplicity in setting up. It's also free for the first clone where with CCC you have to give a Credit Card then cancel if you do not want to keep.

New Adobe Photoshop elements 11-can not share pictures. I do use AOL email. Get error of "Elements 11 Organ. has stopped working, I have looked into sharing tab and my only option is Adobe email settings.
