IBot Phone Delivery

Hi All -
I've been playing around with some of the iBot options using OBIEE Delivers trying to get alerts to different devices. I've been able to get alerts via email, but have not been successful in having an alert sent to my phone.
I've given the device type as my phone carrier (Verizon) and added my phone number. Let's say my phone number is 555-123-4567 (American phone number). I've tried many different formats to make this work:
5551234567
15551234567
915551234567
Documentation says to not use spaces, punctuation, etc, so I have not tried those formats...
When I run my iBot, I receive no errors in the iBot error logs, but receive no notifications to my phone. If I run this delivery method coupled with other methods (dashboard alerts and email), the other two methods succeed, but the phone method is ignored like it wasn't even entered. I've tried running both through a delivery profile and through specific devices.
I have a BlackBerry Curve 8330. Can anyone please help??
Regards,
Jason

Hi Christian -
Thanks for the response. The reason I was looking into this was because I had always seen the other available device delivery options other than email (phone, pager, handheld, other) but had never used them. I was curious to see the type of output and the display format that would display on the phone.
As far as how OBIEE would deliver the message to the phone, I was guessing the delivery format would be SMS, but it was just a guess. I believe that each phone number with a Verizon account has a corresponding internal email, so I was expecting some interaction with the email through the Verizon carrier that would convert to an SMS text notification.
Currently all alerts I have set up have been through email, and no one has ever asked me for anything different. This experiment was more to understand the full capabilities of the tool better so that if a client ever asked for this type of delivery (i.e. they had a work phone with text only capabilities and no email) I would be able to handle the request.
Given the fact that there is only one line in the tool's documentation of how to use the phone number delivery option, I shouldn't be that surprised if it isn't supported :)
Thanks again for the info, and if anyone knows of a way to use this option, please let me know!
Regards,
Jason

  • Is anyone else having problems with an iPhone 6 delivery date changing on them?

I sat up until 12:01am to pre order (2) iPhone 6's and (2) iPhone 6 +'s and they had a delivery date of 9/19 for both of the phones at the time I logged on to Verizon's preorder site. The system would not allow me to log in as an existing customer but it would allow me to order as a new customer. I kept trying to order new phones as an existing customer on two different computers and three different browsers without any luck. I finally decided to order them as a new customer and the order went right through the Verizon system without any problem. Two minutes later I received an email from Verizon requesting that I call them as soon as possible to complete the order. I called in and spoke to a rep that explained that I already was an existing customer and that I would need to use the "Existing Customer" preorder link. I explained the issues I was having and she said that I would still need to use that system when it was available. So I tried the existing customer link and it now let me through but the date for the iPhone 6 plus had slipped to 10/7 (It is now 1:30 am). I completed the transaction and it stated 9/19 delivery for iPhone 6 and 10/7 for the iPhone Plus. However once I received the email confirmation it stated that the delivery date for the phones was 10/7. I called Verizon customer service and stated my concern about the later delivery date for the iPhone 6 and they told me that the iPhone 6's would arrive on the 19th and the pluses would arrive on 10/7 so I did not change my order. This morning 9/19 8:00am I called in to inquire about my shipping confirmation numbers for the (2) iPhone 6's and the customer service rep (Robanya) told me that he would call me back at 1:00pm PST and give me the shipping confirmation numbers. He asked specifically which phone number he should call me back on and I gave him my cell number. After not receiving a call back from Robanya, I called Verizon customer service at 5:30pm and spoke Ryan James and he confirmed that the orders were placed on the 12th of Sept and that one system showed all of them due to be delivered 10/7. After insisting that Robanya that I spoke with earlier in the day said they were shipping today, Ryan got off the phone for 5-10 mins and then got back on and said that the iPhone 6's shipped yesterday on the 18th but he did not have a confirmation number. After pressing him that someone should have this confirmation number in Verizon he stated that the delivery dates were subject to change and that all the phones would probably ship on 10/7 and left it at that.
So after loosing sleep to pre order phones on Verizon, speaking with (3) different Verizon reps, I am rewarded by having my delivery date changed to 10/7 on my iPhone 6's which is the same delivery date they were quoting yesterday 9/18.
Did any one else have the same disappointing experience that I had?

Yes, pre-ordered iPhone 6 with a guaranteed delivery date of 19 September; took screen shots after the order just to have record of it.
Called Verizon 18 Sept because I hadn't received a tracking number yet, and was informed my phone would now ship 7 October.  When I expressed that was different than what was promised and had proof, a manager came on the phone and confirmed that I should have a 19 Sept delivery date based on their records.  She told me however she could not confirm when my order would ship.
19 Sept came and went with no phone delivery.  I have tried calling Verizon, posting here, and posting on their FB page for customer service.  Every rep I talked to (except for the first manager on 18 Sept) has been unable to admit that they mislabeled their product sales page, and mislead the customer.  One rep told me the guaranteed delivery date was an "estimate"; when I asked her to show me on the website where it uses the term "estimate", she admitted it didn't communicate that, but still was unable to utter the words "we made a mistake".
VZW needs to take a 101 class in customer service and crises management; rule #1 is if you screw up, admit it!  I know I am not going to get my iPhone as promised, but pretending like there is nothing wrong with that customer service experience is just making things worse. Not a single employee I have communicated with to date has attempted to do anything proactive to correct or mitigate the customer failure.  I am truly amazed at how poorly VZW has been handling this to date; again (removed) happens with supply/demand, website errors, etc, but the failure to acknowledge how the screw up shafted a lot of (formally) loyal long time customers is criminal.

  • Chaining iBots without using Conditional Requests?

I am using iBots with delivery content and a java script to export this to excel files. Now I want to chain these iBots.
If I use the first iBot to run the 2nd iBot I need to have a conditional request. But these iBots don't have conditional requests.
Using conditional requests equal to the delivery content would be requesting the same report twice. The reports are large and time a lot of time.
So how can I create a chain without requesting all the reports two times?

    Hi,
May I know how you configured the Conditional Formatting in detail? Especially what conditions you selected.
As for the question, there is no build-in feature in Outlook to realize your request, the only method I can think of is to use VBA.

  • Multiple iPhones in same order delivery ?

I Ordered 3 iPhone 6+s and 1 iPhone 6  original delivery date was 10-14 and now say 9-19. Could this be only the 6 On the 19th? How do I see the phones delivery date individually? I ordered at 3:20 started at 3:00 am on 9-12.

I ordered two phones as well, an iphone 6 and 6plus, right at midnight and received my pre-order confirmation with 9/19 ship date.
The iphone 6 has shipped, I have been charged and I have a tracking number.
No one can give me information on the 6 plus.
Customer service gives me different information.
One customer service rep actually said that all iphone 6 plus, even if you pre-ordered at midnight have an October ship date. I asked him how he thought Verizon would fare with false advertising, advertising the 6 plus for 9/19 delivery -  since according to him no iphone 6 plus were going to ship for 9/19 delivery... he transferred me.
The second person said that as soon as her team came in and she checked her system (three minutes after pre-order started) that her system was report all iphone 6 plus with a back order date in October, even though the website was reporting differently.
She couldn't give me any information on my iphone 6 plus order, if its back ordered, when its back ordered - nada.

  • My conversation with a Verizon Rep concerning the iPhone shipments.

I understand that a lot of you think that the CSR's are not very knowledgeable about the shipment of our phones, and that may be the case, however I thought I would post my conversation that I just had with one.
I added more to the bottome as I continued my chat.
JoAnn Ford: Great! Thank you for your help.
Please hold for a Verizon Wireless sales representative to assist you with your order. Thank you for your patience.
You are now chatting with 'Brittany'
Brittany: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service.  May I help you with your order today?
JoAnn Ford: I pre-ordered an iPhone 4s. Im sure you are getting a million of these questions so I apologize ahead of time....
JoAnn Ford: But I didn't order mine until yesterday. I received a confirmation email, and a few hours later I received an email stating that my phone had shipped.
Brittany: I will be glad to help you with your phone concern today.  Was this an upgrade order?
JoAnn Ford: But the link to track takes me to the USPS website and the tracking number doesn't work just yet. Do you know why this is?
JoAnn Ford: I just signed a 2 year contract and ported a number from sprint, then turned on an old VZ phone and ordered it as an upgrade on the website, but technically it is not an upgrade.
Brittany: The phone has not really shipped out yet could be my only guess.  The phone is not set to ship out until the 13th.
JoAnn Ford: MY phone will ship the 13th? even though I ordered it yesterday and not on Friday?
Brittany: Yes, for pre-orders made online, it will ship out on the 13th overnight and delivered on the 14th.
    Brittany: No problem at all.
JoAnn Ford: Great! Thank you for your help.
JoAnn Ford: No thanks! You have answered all of my questions.
JoAnn Ford: Can I ask you one more question>?
JoAnn Ford: My boyfriend call a rep earlier about this and he told me that the representative on the phone informed him that the shipments were pushed back until the 21st. Does this meant that that is not true??
Brittany: That is for people who places the order on the 14th.  The day that it comes out in stores.
    Brittany: Wait.
Brittany: Do you remember the time you placed your order?
    JoAnn Ford: OK Great thanks!
    Brittany: Was it after 6pm?
JoAnn Ford: Let me check when I got my confirmation
    Brittany: Okay.
JoAnn Ford: At about 3:30 PM yesterday afternoon
Brittany: Yesterday.  Hang on and let me check the email  I have (it is about shipments made for the phone).
    JoAnn Ford: Ok thanks
Brittany: It is showing that it will still ship out on the 13th and orders placed online after the 14th will have the phone delivery on the 21st.
JoAnn Ford: Ok! Hope thats true!
Brittany: It is.  I am looking at the email right now.  So just be on the look out on the 14th.
    JoAnn Ford: Ok thanks alot
Brittany: No prob.  Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
Brittany: Thank you for visiting Verizon Wireless, I look forward to speaking with you again.  Have a great evening!

  • Automatic Storing of Report Through Delivers in PDF Format to Local Disk

We need ihelp on our problem below.
Goal : We want to automatically download the IBOT reports in to a PDF file on our local hard drive for archiving purposes. We are able to get this working and the code is working fine with IBOTS calling Java Script in Windows environment and IBOTS calling Java Classes for AIX (our obiee is installed on AIX).
Problem : Java script code is able to return the name of the report which is chosen as the content for the IBOT -> under Delivery content Tab select content tab(containing the name of the report). Thus my downloaded PDF file is containing the report name which is good and what we need. The Java classes have been combined as a JAR File with 3 other dependency JAR Files which are needed to talk to the Scheduler Classes which are as follows.
    C:\OracleBI\web\javahost\lib\scheduler\schedulerrpccalls.jar
    C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver\WEB-INF\lib\xdocore.jar
    C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver\WEB-INF\lib\versioninfo.jar
However when we now invoke the ibot with java classes on AIX box,we are not able to get the name of the report in the download file. We are not able to find the right JAVA supported method for OBIEE delivers to get the report name. In short what we want is the equivalent of this Java script code below in Java classes for OBIEE.
Java script which returns the name of the report is done by this one line code.
    var foldername = GetConfigurationValue("Log Dir", "iBots") + "\\" + UserID
we need the equivalent of this "GetConfigurationvalue" in OBIEE scheduler Java classes to get the name of the ibot. This is a mandatory requirement from the business users to have the name of the downloaded report on the AIX Box using IBOTS and Java classes.
    Thanks

  • My recent experience with Verizon wireless

Approximately two years ago, I decided to switch to Verizon wireless from another carrier because the company I work for has a corporate account with them and offers discounts to employees that have their personal accounts with VZW as well. I got a vanilla iPhone 4 and everything was going well until recently when I made the mistake of trying to upgrade my phone.
My first attempt to upgrade was two days ago. I entered the Independence, Ohio corporate store and wandered around a bit assuming a sales person would be around to see me soon. My main goal was to decide whether to upgrade to the HTC 8x or the Nokia Lumina 928 as I have a surface and I was interested in getting all my devices onto the same platform (Windows 8). After five minutes or so I detected a presence and I started describing the above to the salesperson who had appeared next to me. He stared at me blankly and flatly stated that he was just there to "check me in." He assured me it would only be 15 minutes or so, so I gave him my number and continued playing around with the test phones they had on display. Thirty minutes later, I was getting anxious watching what seemed like tens of employees wandering aimlessly throughout the store staring at tablets or talking with customers about seemingly unrelated topics (video games, weather etc...), I walked out with the thought that I would just upgrade online.
I went onto Verizon's website later that evening and attempted to upgrade. I got all the way to the point where I select my delivery method and selected pick up at store. I found the store I had visited earlier in the day and it said "Available for pick up in this store;" however, when I attempted to continue there was an error and it didn't allow me to complete the purpose. Seeing as many of us operate under the "I want it now" mentality, I wanted to avoid having to ship the device and thought that it should be easy enough to somehow get this transaction completed in person.
Next day I went to a different Verizon store in hopes it would be less busy. This time, I walked in and there were four guys sitting around in an empty store twiddling their thumbs with cigarettes strewn about the main desk. They asked what I had come for and I told them. They incredulously asked me why I would want a Windows 8 phone. I told them. They said they didn't have that phone because it was a "rare" phone. They then proceeded to train the "new" guy (4th guy doing nothing) on how to check inventory. When I asked them whether the Independence store had the phone they proceeded to describe to me in excruciating detail the "intricacies" underlying corporate vs self-owned branches and how they couldn't check the inventory of Independence due to it being the former. They then said I could upgrade with them and then drive thirty minutes to the nearest non-corporate store to pick up the phone. Sounds like a great solution.... right. I declined and left.
Later that day I returned to the Independence store and went through the same song and dance as before; however, this time I was determined to wait. I "checked in" with the fellow at the front and set in to wait. After about thirty minutes of watching "employees" mill around aimlessly heads-down, staring at tablets and wandering in and out of the "back room" someone called for "Tim" - my name is "Tom" - apparently the greeter had failed at his one mission of greeting customers and GETTING THEIR NAME RIGHT. I get that it's a similar enough name but at this point I was getting frustrated. I had spent upwards of 2 hours between store visits and web-form filler-outing simply trying to give Verizon more money. And it wasn't over yet...
"Tim" acknowledged the woman and she trundled over to help. I asked her whether the HTC 8x was free to upgrade to as that is the deal offered online and there is even a link online that allows you to "get this deal at your local store." She said she would have to check. After fiddling with her magic tablet for a minute or two she sorrowfully informed me that it was $99 dollars to upgrade to that phone in the store. She then ushered me to a kiosk and asked me to log into My Verizon account on there to see if the deal was available via that method. At that point she got a person involved who was presumably a "manager" who was standing in the midst of the store, arms crossed, scanning the sea of people hoping to buy phones interspersed with employees wandering around (heads down, staring at tablets, of course), and just generally looking important (or trying to). I said to him: so I can upgrade here but you can't just hand me a phone, I have to have it shipped to me? His response was: "Yup, sorry dude." Great. Fine, I say: I go through the whole process again and at checkout, the phone is 99 instead of free like I had seen at home. His response, "Oh, sorry man." Throwing up my hands, I left thinking - company discount be ****** - I was going to switch to a different provider.
By the time I had arrived at home, I had cooled off a bit and I figured I would just try the shipping thing again in order to avoid having to interact with these phone salespeople again. I went through the process, got my "free" HTC 8x upgrade - with the exception of the $30 "upgrade fee"  of course - which covers three hours of a tablet-staring, empty-eyed salesperson's salary and completed my order. (NB: I went through the process of "verifying" my device so I could have the new phone shipped to a different shipping address cf. my billing address as I am out of town on business and won't be back at my home residence for another two weeks. This alternate address is a separate house - a real address - I keep in another city). Finally, I think, done and upgraded - won't have to deal with them for another two years.
Two hours later, I get an email saying my order was shipped. That was fast, I think at first with glee! Then I check the email... they had shipped the phone to my home address... the place I won't be for two weeks. Grumbling, I picked up the phone and suffered through the pain that is the Verizon automated phone system attempting to reach another human. Finally, I reach a bubbly gal' with a thick Southern accent (nice enough actually) who apologized and said she would sent in a change order to FedEx to get my phone rerouted to my current address. Ok I said, thank you for your help - should I expect a confirmation from FedEx? Yes, she said - expect it by the morning.
Fast forward to this morning where I'm sitting in a meeting and my phone goes off - incoming call from Irvine, California - strange. I return to my meeting. Fifteen minutes later, same number calls. I excuse myself from the meeting - this must be an emergency. I pick up: HI THIS IS AN AUTOMATED CALL FROM VERIZON WIRELESS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO TAKE A SURVEY. I hang up in disgust and return to my job. After the meeting is over, I get onto my computer to check the status of my phone delivery. Yup, as expected - happily on its way to my HOME address where it will either be returned to sender or left sitting on my doorstep for two weeks.
    Great work.
    -An Unhappy Customer. (AKA "Tim")

Man that was way to long....................!
First send a certified return receipt requested letter to the address on your invoice. Dispute the $299.00 then wait for the green receipt card to come back to you. Tell them exactly why you are disputing it. Photos don't match, not the phone you sent bac and all the problems you have had with your service, if you have contact names state them in the letter.
Make copies of the letter you sent, any corrospondence you received from them, invoices, etc. dates, times of phone calls, and go to a Small Claims court and sue them for all amounts in dispute. Add in the cost of the certified letter, loss from work fir going to court, filing fees, and make sure you have all your documents ready for the judge.
Do not elect arbitration from verizon at anytime just have your case heard in court. Do not settle with verizon unless they credit you the full amount you are asking for. The loss/damage phone scam is common with verizon just do a google search on it, print them out to show the judge it is questionable that you are to blame for the damage.
Its a scam from the vendor Verizon uses to collect these devices. Damage claims have to be filed by verizon if they are paying for the return back to them.
Also sue them in a State Supreme court for cutting off your service without following the fair debt collection act. You can dispute orally, but must write to preserve your rights.
    Good Luck

  • Two day shipping?

I ordered my iPhone Sunday, it is now end of the day Tuesday and i haven't received it. The way i looked at it, it should be here today, the second day. Did any one else have this issue? Did it not come the second day?

Sunday isn't a business day. So any orders placed on Sunday are processed on Monday. Shipping would be two BUSINESS days. Did you receive an email confirmation that your phone has shipped? If not, there might be an issue with the order. If there were no issues with the order, I would suspect the phone delivery would happen today (Wednesday).

  • Worried about installation

I am expecting a new cordless phone delivery and a visit from a BT engineer on Friday and I am getting  worried by the hour having read some of these posts.
We had a land line installed here 37 years ago but about 10 years ago we terminated and opted to use mobile phones.  I went on line to order recently and was asked if there was a working line at this address which there isn't and then I gave my post code and after a few minutes checking, the system allowed me to go ahead and complete my order.  I think it has gone through as a new line.
The phone socket in the hall has been removed as it got damaged and we thought we wouldn't need it again.  There is one upstairs in the bedroom in good condition.  The little box by the front door also got damaged when we had a new door fitted but we made a cover for it.  The line from the pole to the house is still there and runs along the building to the front door but I don't know what state it is in.
In addition the plug socket for the power supply for the cordless base is on the opposite wall to the wall where I hope the new phone socket will go.  I doubt the engineer will lift the carpet to run the wire under.  Alternatively there is a power socket through the partition wall where the phone will be but I don't think he will drill through there.
I can see all these snags and I am trying to imagine what the engineer will do about them.  Is it a lottery where I may get a chap who just wants to finish for the weekend or might I get a helpful one with a degree of flexibility? What can I expect, does anyone have any real opinions.  Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. I wouldn't worry about issues that haven't arisen; most Openreach engineers will try to give helpful advice about your connections.
Don't be misled by the number of complaints and problems you see here; it's a help forum so most people who come here for the first time have a problem. Generally speaking BT are like so many big companies these days - fairly good at providing a decent basic service, but too often hopeless when a problem occurs. The odds are that you will be amongst the great majority who are trouble free.

  • Anyone else have iPhone 6 Plus ship dates of 11/7?

I ordered a 64GB iPhone 6 plus on 10/13 with 11/7 ship date. Nothing yet from verizon hoping it comes earlier than that though. Have been hearing alot of people getting further delays.
Please feel free to share your experiences about your order with order/ ship dates

I don't want to discourage you to much, but I had one due by 10-31-2014 and it was confirmed by Verizon on 10-29-2014 to be on schedule. Then Friday afternoon (10-31-2014) I spent an hour and 10 minutes on the phone to verify status. The said it would ship today 11-03-2014 to Wednesday 11-05-2014, and said it did come in at Verizon that day 10-31-2014.
The shocker was at 7:30pm EST time i received an e-mail stating my phone would not ship until 11-21-2014.
Do not trust it will be coming until you get a tracking number......
I have never had this bad of service with Verizon, and I have been with them for well over 10 years now. I wish you the best on your phone delivery, they have yet to explain to me how mine got pushed out to Thanksgiving???
