ICal Repeat Event Problem

So i'm having a major problem with iCal in Lion.
I setup an event that runs an Applescript at 13:00 and set it to repeat every day, it worked perfectly the first day but after that it stopped working....now when it turns 13:00 nothing runs.
I've tried both running a script and making it an App and opening that but still nothing works.
Is this a iCal but that everyone is having or is it just me?
Thank you

I tried a few different repeats and they all worked here. One suggestion try a repeat on an event that is not an all day event. Does that make a difference?
Also try a different calendar, again any change? Finally you should make a new user, log in as that user and try it. This way you can try to isolate it to see if it is something in your environment or if it is system wide.

  • ICal recurring events problem

Since updating to 10.8.2 I've run into a problem with my repeating events in iCal. I can duplicate the problem every time I create a repeating event on my MacBook Pro but not on any other Mac on 10.8.2 which leads me to believe it is a preference problem.
If I delete the preferences will all my events disappear from my calender? Are there other hidden preferences that I should try to delete? Or do I need to delete all my events and start from scratch creating them again? (I've got about 45 events every month.)
This is the problem I'm having:
I create an event repeating every week or month, etc. and I have it set to remind me a week before it's due. When the event is done I'll enter a note in the notes field which then brings up a window asking me if I want to change this event ONLY or change ALL the events. I choose ONLY this event. When I check the same event for next week or month, etc. the note that was entered in the last event shows up and shows up in all future events.

  • ICal repeating events become invisible if using Exchange 2010

I recently upgraded from Exchange 2007 server to Exchange 2010.
I had PREVIOUSLY been impressed by well iCal under Snow Leopard worked with Exchange Server. Everything was great. But, after upgrading to Exch 2010, many of my repeating calendar items became invisible in iCal.
I did some searching on the Internet, and found I am not alone. My service provider support desk was also able to reproduce on their end.
    Steps:
Connect to an Exchange 2010 account using Snow Leopard iCal.
RESULT: All repeating calendar with end dates will be missing.
Workaround: Remove the end date, or use a fixed number of repetitions rather than and end date.
Another Workaround: Get Entourage to sync to Exchange, then get Entourage to sync with iCal. OK, but there seems to be some bugs there too where things don't always sync right.
Since most people use repeating events, Mac users should avoid upgrading to Exchange 2010 for now.

  • ICal repeat event issues

I feel like I'm missing something when using the calendar app... When creating a repeat event, the only options are weekly, monthly, yearly... I need to have an event repeat every third Saturday, along with events that require on Tuesday's and thursdays.  Without having to individually type them in, how can I get it to do what I want?

  • Problems with Repeating Events on Palm and iCal

    Hi,
I'm having a problem with daily-repeating events entered into either my Palm or iCal. When I put events in my palm and sync them to iCal, the iCal calendars look right, but then the Palm events become truncated,i.e. only the first day of daily event will be visible. If I do nothing but just sync again, the events in iCal become weirdly duplicated, i.e. if an event had two repeats, the "original" occurrance will be there, along with a second, starting on next day of the series, lasting for the same number of repeats. Is there any way to make one calendar the overwriting calendar while using iSync? Or do you know of some other fix? This problem doesn't seem to affect other repeating events, either monthly or yearly.
    Thanks

As I just posted in another thread, there are a whole series of 'representation disconnects' between the Palm calendaring application and iCal.
While this article— iSync: About Syncing Recurrent Events Between iCal and Palm OS Based Devices—would lead to you believe that iSync is primarily the issue, it's not: this behavior occurs primarily because of the differences between the calendaring programs in each environment, and only secondarily because of the manner in which records are pushed and pulled by the synchronization framework.
iSync itself is simply another compliant sync client, and there is unfortunately no workaround for the issues delineated in the article.

  • Problem when sync repeat events with ical

    Hi all,
I've a strange problem that happen when I sync repeated events on my mac versus iphone...
With iCal I can see correctly an events repeated for example for two days... (using the option repeat every day with an end date). After syncing, on imac it will be correct but on iphone (3.1.2) the same event are repeated with one more day added, three instead of two:(
    Any idea about that?
    Kind regards,
    Stefano

  • I CAN NO LONGER EDIT REPEATING EVENTS (BIRTHDAYS) CREATED IN iCAL

I have many repeating events (birthdays) created in iCal. Recently, whenever I call up these events for editing, and when I save them, I get the message (for example) "Access to “Mom's birthday” in “Birthdays” in account “[username]@me.com” is not permitted.
    The server responded:
    “HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden”
    to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation
I then get the choices to "Go Offline" or "Revert to Server".
Then, if I click "Revert to Server", the entire event disappears.
Can anyone let me know how to solve this problem?

  • I have accepted iCal invitations with repeating events and they have since been deleted from the iCal on my Mac but won't delete from my iPhone. Help

I have accepted iCal invitations with repeating events and they have since been deleted from the iCal on my Mac but won't delete from my iPhone. Help

I experienced this issue as well.
    Background:
I had opened an ICS attachment for a repeating event on my iPhone, which added the item to my phone's calendar. I did not have the option to delete the calendar entry from my phone, and the item did not appear on the calendar on my Mac. My phone is currently running iOS 7 (but the problem began quite awhile ago; I don't recall which version of iOS was installed when it started).
    Solution (summary):
Create a new calendar, move the items that you wish to delete to the new calendar, then delete the new calendar
    Solution (detailed steps):
    Create a new calendar
On your phone, open the calendar app
Tap the "Calendars" option at the bottom of the screen
Tap the "Edit" button in the top left corner
Scroll to the bottom of the list and tap the "Add Calendar..." option
Give your new calendar a good name, such as "Delete me"
Tap "Done" in the top right corner to save the new calendar
Tap "Done" in the top left corner to finish editing the list of calendars
Tap "Done" to exit the list of calendars
Assign all calendar entries that you wish to delete to the calendar you created in step 1
Tap a calendar entry that you wish to delete
Tap the "Edit" button in the top right corner
Scroll down until you see the Calendar field (on an iPhone or iPod it's usually just below the bottom of the screen), then tap the Calendar field to bring up the list of available calendars
Tap the name of the calendar that you created in step 1 (e.g. "Delete me"); the screen should return to the main calendar entry page
Tap "Done" in the top right corner of the screen. You may need to then tap the "< Day" button on the top left of the screen to return to the main calendar view
Repeat the instructions in step 2 for each of the calendar entries that you wish to delete
Delete the calendar that you created in step 2 (this will delete all calendar entries assigned to this calendar)
From the main screen in the calendar app, tap the "Calendars" option at the bottom of the screen
Tap the "Edit" button in the top left corner
Tap the entry for the calendar that you created in step 2 (e.g. "Delete me")
Scroll to the bottom of the scren and tap the "Delete Calendar" option. You should be prompted with a warning that explains that "All events associated with this calendar will also be deleted."
If you're sure that the only items on this calendar are items that you wish to delete, tap the "Delete Calendar" button
Tap "Done" in the top right corner to exit the Edit Calendars screen
Tap "Done" to exit the list of calendars. You should now be back at the main view of the calendars app
Rejoice, your pesky repeating calendar events have been deleted
At this point all of the items that you assigned to the deleted calendar should be gone
Repeat the steps above for any entries that you missed
Post another message to this thread if this did not resolve your problem

  • Problems with 2009 repeating events

The first time I opened ical this new year I found that many of my repeating events, such as Mother's Day, holidays and just plain events are appearing in incorrect months. The first thing I did was to check to see what the repeating dates were set for and they are all correct. For example Mothers day is set for the second Sunday in May but it is appearing on January 11 2009. The case is the same for many events. Do I have to manually fix them? Is this a bug that will reoccur next year. I have used ical for a number of years and this is the first time I have had such a problem. Any help will be appreciated.

I think I'm having a similar issue. I updated my class schedule this year until May, and now I'm getting all of my events duplicated except the duplicates are moved to later in the day. I've even deleted them and imported them. They are fine at first, then later they duplicate.

  • Is there any way to customize a repeat event in iCal on my iPad?

On my old MacBook, I was able to customize a repeat event, I.e., plan a recurring event for the first Thursday of every month, as opposed to the first of every month. I am attempting to switch to my new iPad, and cannot seem to find the function in iCal where I can do this.  Is there a way of doing this on the iPad? Or is the iPad less useful in this way too?

You can't customize events like you can in iCal on the Mac - so using your words, I would say that the iPad is less useful in that regard.

  • If I have a repeating event in iCal, can I attach different docs, pdfs, etc., do the events. I am entering lessonplans and want each date to have an attachment.

If I have a repeating event in iCal, can I attach different docs, pdfs, etc., do the events. I am entering lessonplans and want each date to have an attachment.

Yes. As you edit each one, you will get a dialog asking whether you want to change all or just the current one.

  • ICal and Calendar sync one week apart for Repeating events

    Hi,
First Post here. Look forward to sticking around. I have been reading the forum avidly since I received my iphone 3g on July 11th.
So here is the issue: It is in regards to events that I created on my iphone that are scheduled to repeat each week, but then end on a certain day. This works perfectly fine in the iphone so far, but when it syncs with iCal it always ends one week earlier than on the iphone. The iphone will remain the proper date, whereas iCal ends one week early.
I won't go on longer, but has anyone else had this issue? Maybe you should double check your dates if you have any repeated events scheduled in your phone, and compare them with iCal to double check they are right.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Cam

I guess I should have added that with Outlook, I am connect to Exchange.

  • I am unable to cut repeat events on iCal.

When I try to cut repeat events from iCal they either go and re-appear or just don't go at all, they then keep repeating more often finsihing with the same event up to 10 or more times on the day.

The iPhone OS does not have any copy and paste functionality in it. Apple is well aware of this but they believed that there were many more important features to implement before it.
However, the most recent version of the developer kit has references to cut and paste, so we may see that feature when iPhone 2.1 (as opposed to 2.01) is released.

  • ICal / iPhone sync problems - events don't appear in iCal

I have MobileMe set up on both my MacBook and iPhone. All iCal-created events now appear on my iPhone (although only those after 9th May 2008; none before), but if I create an event on my iPhone then it doesn't show up on iCal. If I check MobileMe on the internet, my web-based version of iCal has all events, including those that I create on the iPhone.
On iCal I have two calendar types: Home (Blue) and Work (Green). On my iPhone there are now four types, for some reason: two Homes (both Blue) and two Works (both Green). I have tried experimenting by creating events in all calendars, but none sync to appear in iCal on my MacBook.
    Help!

After 3.5 hours on the phone with applecare, I believe this problem of not syncing ical from ipod touch to the ical app is resolved. Here are the steps that made it happen for me:
Log out of main account and log into root account. If you haven't set up the root user yet follow the directions in your Mac Help on your computer. Make sure you understand the implications of setting up the root user account. You may want to disable the root user after you are done with this fix.
In Finder, navigate to /Users/(your account)/Library/Application Support and delete every folder in the Application Support directory that has the word 'Sync' in the folder's name.
Log out of the root account and back into your main account. Sync your ipod touch / iphone and see if this worked for you.
    Good Luck!
