ICal syncing with iCloud

Hello! My boss just updated his OS to Lion so that he couldsync his iCal with iCloud. He has about ten different calendars or categories, such as Staff, personal, workout, etc.… The problem is that only part of whathe has on iCal is showing up on iCloud. For instance in purple he has a studyblock that shows up, but the devotional block that is just before it does notshow up. Is there something that I can look at to make sure that all calendarevents show up on iCloud? Thanks for your help! David

I may have been misunderstood. In iCal there are different accounts (or groups) you can put calendars into, if you put a calendar into anything else than your iCloud account, it won't sync.
In my calendar above, anything I place in 'Private' won't sync with iCloud. (The second iCloud group is another iCloud account, that group syncs with iCloud, but not my iCloud - actually it's an iCloud account that a group of us share and can edit)

  • ICal sync with iCloud question

I've noticed since I started syncing my address book and calendars between my iMac and iPad 2, when I go to iCal preferences and accounts⟶on the iMac, the only account showing is my iCloud account.  In address book under accounts, I see my iCloud account and On My Mac account.  Is it normal for iCal accounts to show only the iCloud account?
    Thanks⟶

When iCloud is set up, all the calendars are moved to the server, because iCloud cannot read 'On My Mac' calendars. It can't read 'On My Mac' Address Book items either, but for some reason they are left there.

  • I have a problem with ical sync with iCloud

I keep getting this response to one of my calendars; Access to “XX Meeting” in “xyz” in account “iCloud” is not permitted.  The server responded: “403” to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation.

Subscribed calendars do not display in the iCloud website. They will be synced to other devices (actually it seems to be the settings which are synced, and the other device then subscribes). There may be a technical reason why the online calendar can't subscribe to other calendars.

  • Why won't iCal sync with iCloud and iPhone?

Before shifting from Mobile Me, all was fine. Now they don't talk to each other.

    Tenneson,
Go through the steps listed in iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar to help solve your problem.

  • ICal on Mac 10.7.4 not reliably syncing with iCloud

The past couple of days I noticed a problem with syncing iCal on my Mac running 10.7.4 with iCloud.
My iPad and iPhone sync with iCloud, and the Reminders sync across all devices without any issues.
I also noticed that if I just try to double click on a date (in the month view), it never creates an event, goes into a sync and then blank events show up on iCloud, but never on my Mac where I was actually trying to create the event?
I have checked for updates and have completely restarted my Mac. I have also tried removing and re-establishing all iCloud connections on my Mac. Reminders and older existing events show up fine, just unable to create new events.
    Ideas?
UPDATE: I was just doing some testing. It only fails on ALL DAY appointments. Appointments created with time ranges sync fine.

Just figured this out. There is a setting under the iCal toolbar View -> Show All Day Events
I have no idea why that would now be turned off, but it was. Ughh - user error.

  • ICal calendars on my Mac don't sync with iCloud

Am I missing something? When I configured iCloud, I noticed that I suddenly had duplicates of my Address Book and Calenders. My Mac can sync with my phone, my phone can sync with iCloud, but I can't sync my Mac with iCloud.
Maybe I'm too lazy and haven't read enough about it, but it seems like a total cluster.
So now, when I want to update my calendar on my Mac, I have to go to iCloud instead of using iCal.
Anyway, if I'm missing something... feel free to point it out. No offense taken

I have something similar and i will try to explain with my rusty english.
I have an ID on iCloud but i can't sync the iCal events.
On my mac there is everythign (appointment, notes birthdays and so on). On my iCloud there is nothing.
I suppose was something related with the old ID  (one just for ichat, not one of the ID that you pay to receive extra services or a @me.com account).
Now, as soon as the icloud features was installed on my Macbook Air I signed a new ID and initially everything worked fine. Emails on Mail and  contacts were syncronized properly but with the new ID. i did not check iCal account.
So i tried also with the old one (the ichat ID) and all was sync. So i realized that maybe Apple recognized same account or name and merge all the ID in just one.
    I was wrong.
The 2 ID's are not linked.
further checks add also this new weird stuff. in any case i cant sync ical accounts. i tried to switch from one to another ID. no way. i checked preferences in iCal on the mac. everything is fine. no way.
    do uu have any idea?

  • ICal Cannot Sync with iCloud

My MacPro running 10.7.5 cannot sync iCal with iCloud.  My MacPro is too old and cannot upgrade to Mavericks.  I am stuck at Lion. How can I get my iCal in Lion to sync with iCloud?

You don't need Mavericks to sync your calendars.
    Please try the following...
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

That and other issues will happen if one tries to use a unsupported system with new services / software that was never designed for the system in use.
Apple clearly says you need Lion 10.7.2. How on earth can you expect that it would work in 10.6.2 ??

  • ICal not syncing with iCloud or iPhone

    Hi,
I just got a new iPhone today and I am having trouble syncing my iCal to it. Prior to this I did not have an iCloud. I created one on iCloud.com but everything there is blank. The iCal on my laptop is full, but I don't see an option in preferences to sync with iCloud, only something about MobileMe. I don't really understand what I'm suppose to do. I've looked through many different forums about this, but nobody seems to talk about my specific problem. Ideas?
Side question... where is Facetime on the iPhone? I thought it was included, but I can't find it and it's not avilable through the app store.
    Thanks!

    Greetings,
If you are running OS X 10.6 or earlier on your computer you will want to either:
    A. Sync your calendar using the USB cable and NOT use iCloud calendars (as iCloud requires Lion (10.7): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
    B. Purchase and install Lion assuming your Mac meets the requirements: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4949
If you are running 10.7 on your Mac (Check by going to Apple > About this Mac), reply back and we can suggest how to get the calendars on iCloud.
    To your side question:
While this isn't the iPhone forum, your profile says you are using an iPhone 3G.  FaceTime for iOS is available on iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 4 S and iPod touch (4th generation): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4319
Hope that information sheds some light.

  • Ask your question. How to sync ical 3 with icloud calendar

How to sync ical 3 with icloud calendar?

And the additional problem is that once you give in and go iCloud, no rep will tell you there are iCloud limits on iCal's size, so that if you're calendar is say 10 years old, with 10 events per day, and there's a 25K event limit, it won't work, even if you buy all the storage in the world. Which means that's syncing is OVER.
So far I've tried three calendar alts: Fantastical (rated one of the top iCal alts); Pocket Informant (allegedly capable of superpowers); and Calendars. Not a single one is able to do the one simple task of
    1) integrating an ical ics file,
    2) placing a calendar program on the desktop and the iPhone
    3) keeping them both in sync.
And Google's cloud has even more restrictions than iCloud, and for frack's sake why can't I keep a calendar off the net?
This is really getting to annoy me. Chelsea, a tech support supervisor, offered that if I pay $99/year I can become a developer and get the next beta iTunes which will allegedly offer local syncing. Great.

  • ICal will not sync with iCloud

  • ICal and reminders on Macbook don't sync with iCloud

Just now when iCal crashed on my MacBook Pro I realise that it hasn't been syncing with iCloud (lost al lot of appointments).
Any change made on my iPad, iPhone and on icloud.com syncs perfectly; even back to my macbook!
The rest on my laptop (notes, iWork apps, mail, contacts) all seem to work and sync perfectly with iCloud.
However iCal and Reminders made on my laptop just don't sync to iCloud!
The other way around works nicely (reminders and calendar appointments from iPad, iPhone and iCloud.com appear promptly on the macbook).
I have tried everything i could find (restarting computer, resetting icloud prefferences, log out and in from icloud, starting new calendar, checking icloud account). Nothing works...
Any change made from my macbook just doesnt make it to other devices. From other devices back to my mac do work.
On my macbook all calendars I have are in iCloud.
iCloud is active (with same login as for other devices)
Would be great if someone could help me with this one!
    Thanks!

  • Ical bug with iCloud connection.

Hello, my name is Carlos Micó.
I´ve got a problem with iCal. When I open iCal, this stays in a bug trying to connect and sync with iCloud. The application can not close it. Can not access your preferences. I tried to delete the account from iCloud to not continue the bug, but does not solve the problem. Any solution?

Are you actually opening iCal or Calendar? If you are able to open iCal, and it hangs, that would be because it doesn't work with Mavericks. You need to use Calendar.
Does the iCloud System Preferences let you uncheck Calendar?
Can you access your Calendars at www.icloud.com?
