Ical went to prehistoric times, to year 0099.  Don't wanna come back

i was syncing mobileme with ical. it looked everything went OK. but when i opened my ical, it was in year 99. Looks Ical really thinks, it's now march 0099.
when i'm trying to go to year 2009 ( Show a specific date in the main calendar view Shift-Command-T), it allow me just to write 3 numbers.

hallavalia,
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Quit iCal, and open System Preferences...>Language & Text>Formats>Region:>reset/choose the appropriate region...also check what you have set in Dates/Times.

  • Ical will not store info, I go to another app, and come back and the info is gone

Ical takes in an event, but after you leave Ical and come back, all the info is gone.  Now I notice that there is no info at all in Ical, and it won't load from my info from my Ipad as well.

The Macbook Air is a low end Macintosh for graphics apps and you are asking it to perform a heavy pro workflow using a pro application. The integrated GPU of MBAs is a serious limiter to heavy graphics. Personally I would expect flaky performance with certain operations. In general I recommend that Aperture users choose boxes with independent GPUs and capable of taking 16 GB RAM if necessary.
It will be important to carefully optimize workflow. How much RAM is in the MBA? The most Apple specs is 8 GB but you can check OWC to see if you can go to 16 GB. My Aperture/Photoshop workflow paged out at 8 GB RAM before I upgraded to 16 GB RAM.
You should evaluate whether or not you have adequate RAM:
Look at the Page Outs number under System Memory on the Activity Monitor app before starting a typical Aperture/Photoshop work session and write the number down. Recheck the Page Outs count after working for a few hours and write the number down again. If the page outs change (manual calculation of ending page outs number minus starting page outs number) is not zero your workflow is RAM-starved.
Ignore the pie charts and other info in Activity Monitor because they can be misleading regarding RAM usage. For RAM analysis, manually count page outs before and after a work session.

I have a macbook pro (late 2011) OS X Yosemite 10.10. I have 2 acct.’s set up in mailbox, Yahoo and Gmail, but it will not send. The message comes back stating that Yahoo cannot ‘send using the server’....I have manipulated things around but to no avail. Both acct.’s receive, but will not send. Can someone provide some answers? Thanks.

    Hi whineyfromleessummit,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're not able to send email from Yahoo or Gmail on your MacBook Pro.
There could be several causes of the behavior. I would start with the troubleshooting steps in the "Mail Connection Doctor shows one or more red dots in the account Status column" section of this article:
OS X Mail: Troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages
This article contains a variety of steps that can help resolve an issue like the one you're seeing.
    All the best,

  • I went to the apple store and they said I should come back on Saturday for a replacement. Do I have to book another appointment?

my my iphone wasn't powering on so apple said I should return for a free replacement on Saturday. Does that mean I have to book an appointment for Saturday or do I just walk in?

This will not help such a depleted or poor battery situation. But to Calibrate. Keep using iPhone as usual until it goes to 0% battery and shuts itself OFF due to low battery. Then charge it all the way to 100% in one charging event. Usually takes about 2 or 2 1/2 hrs to completely charge. Done.

  • Is there a way to acknowledge multiple ical notifications at one time?

I turned on an iBook I haven't used is almost 2 years.  ical popped up reminders from two years ago.  Is there a way to acknowledge these reminders all at one time?

Filter the mail based on mail addressed "To: (Your email address). The action is to send it to  the "trash " folder. In effect, the trash folder automatically becomes your Inbox. Save what you want by moving items from trash. Then touch "edit" "delete all".

  • ICal, Mail and Finder times all stuck since upgrade!  System clock O.K.

    Very strange problem:
All of my calendar event times (in iCal), email message receipt times (in Mail), and file modification/creation times (in Finder) are listed as some time between 7:00-7:59 AM or PM, regardless of time of day! My system clock (as it appears in the menu bar) is fine!
    More details:
iCal: the events still look like they're at the right times, i.e. the blocks are in the right places, with the correct spacing, etc etc, they are just labeled with times between 7:00-7:59 AM/PM. Similarly, alarms go off at the correct time. Also, in the day or week listing, the column on the left which is supposed to show times instead just says "Sat" for all times, except "Noon" (at noon).
This is continuous since upgrading to snow leopard a couple weeks ago. Seemingly no other problems besides this.
I don't know much about the OS, but I don't understand how the system clock (in the menu bar) could be fine, but every other sign of time-keeping is completely off. I just its just something about the labeling of times, instead of the actual record of them?!
I have screen shots of the problems if that might help clarify (apparently I can't attach them however).
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,
    Any solutions to your problems?
Just found my Mom has the same 'time stuck' problem (iMac OS X 10.6.7) Finder 'Date Modified' is stuck at 2/14/2011. Also, the Time/Date displays correctly on the Menu bar but when click on it, the drop down menu shows a gray out 2/14/2011, etc.
Much appreciated of any help. Thx.

  • I can't get any of my applications to open. I can't connect to my Wi fi and my MacBook Pro says it's not charging. It is 4 yrs old and I've taken it in for repairs 3 times this year. Also was told my cd rom packed it in. Is it possible I need a new one?

Frustrated with my Mac book pro. It's 4 yrs old and I've taken it in 3 times this year for different issues. Just last week they said my Cd Rom has packed it in. As of this week, I can't connect to wifi or get any of my applications to respond. Also won't hold a charge :(.  Is it possible I need a new one? I paid 2200.00 for thus one. Seems like it should last longer than that. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You would do better to ask in the Mac Forum - this is the iPad forum.

  • Mac Book - repair 3 to 4 times a year.

Our company used your Mac Book for design purposes, but we are facing the problem with your Mac Book.(serial no.:C0********F8V) 1)need repair and change software/hardware 3 times for a year with the same issue. But the repair process take time for 2 to 3 weeks everytime, this will affected our work and make huge losses for our company for the business. 2) The Apple Malaysia Support team can not give us the answer why need repair for the same issue so often for this Mac Book? We can not get the right answer. 3) repair or change software/hardware cost more than RM2000/repair, if after warranty period, we are repair 3-4 times per year, really cost us a lot. We have very faith in your products, we hope you can solve our issue. Thank you and best regards Sinarmas Santan Sdn. Bhd. Lim Kian Keng

You may have to try & contact Apple main support, outside your region, to see if someone there can assist you in resolving issues of support and service with your product. There is a worldwide page of contact information and there also is a page of more corporate contacts; so I do not know if there is a procedure for someone outside the US/Canada to contact their main offices for help. Each region country has its own phones.
Perhaps you could try your luck with using the click-on box in the web page to start a new dialog with someone in Apple Support about this problem of re-occurring unreliable repairs and loss-of-use? Maybe if someone far enough up the chain was contacted, you may be able to get some action. Of course at this level on a discussion forum, we're not able to do anything but suggest, within limited bounds.
When you had the computer repaired, did you get a repair ticket number or incident code, or any paper trail that could be followed back to say this issue & repair action has been repeatedly unsatisfactorily attempted? In some regions, repeated failure to repair a product can get a different level of intervention at the Apple end of the business, but in your country, I have no idea on how to get there.
Here are a few usual links:
Apple - How To Contact US (us page)
    http://www.apple.com/contact/
Contact Apple for support & service:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
    http://www.apple.com/support/contact/
(note in this page, additional links to see all world-
wide phone numbers, find service providers, etc)
Not sure if any of that will help, but you could try to get some kind of accomodation by escalating the repair problems and repeated troubles, to a supervisor or other oversight.
Given you use the product for business and it has not been right, that may (or may not) mean something to an advanced level personnel. In the US, there are emails of some higher-up persons, but they may not intervene in an outside region. Sales support, service support, product experts, and the like may be sparse in some regions outside of North America.
Sorry to not have an answer.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • My macbook pro is just over 3 years old now and off and on during this time the screen will just go all black.  Lately this blackout is lasting longer and I was wondering what is causing this.  I am afraid that this will not come back on in the future.

My MacBook pro is just over 3 years old now and the screen has totally blacked out for a few seconds at a time.  It will come back on in a few seconds with the exception this past month it has stayed black for a longer period of time like one minute.  It scares me to think that one of these times it won't come back on.  I have noticed it happens more often when I am using just the battery power.  Does anyone have any idea what causes this?  just to mention my battery was not low when this happens.

    jmckl,
if your MacBook Pro is a 15-inch Mid 2010 model (“MacBookPro6,2”), then it might be exhibiting the defect that is documented on this Apple Support page. If your black screen is due to this defect, then that page states that Apple will service this problem on this specific model of MacBook Pro gratis, for three years from the date of purchase. However, some commenters here have noted that sometimes the servicing is done gratis without having proof of the date of purchase. If you have an Apple Store near you, you might consider bringing your MacBook Pro there to have them check for the presence of this defect.
It is only the 15-inch Mid 2010 model that has this problem; no other model suffers from it.

  • I just purchased to send out a form next week. We would have been sending 4 times a year. Definitely will look at alternative right away. How do I get a refund?

Verizon is corrupt in what they tell you and what they honor. Their right hand does not know what their left hand is doing.
I am so angry at them for what they are NOT doing to solve problems we have had with billing since October. I have been putting horrible reviews on every site I can think of as well. This typically is not my approach but I have exhausted every avenue of reason with them up to this point. They are so big they don't care. Only thing though is I live in a small community that does pay attention to things others say and I am telling it like it is. Verizon customer service is a group of dishonest, incompetent people.

  • 1 time per year deauthorization

Hello. How to deauthorize all my computers second time a year? I used it last year so now i cant do it again till april. And because i reinstalled my system i cant deauthorize previously authorized computers one by one. Is there any solution to deauthorize all computers again without waiting few months?

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here. You can contact iTunes support via this page and ask if they can deauthorise your account : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
