ICloud Kalender: Syncing problems

iCloud Kalender: Appointments written on my iPad appear on wrong days and/or at wrong times on my iMac. And vice versa. So it is dangerous to use. Can you help, please?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Do you have calendar time zone support turned on on any of the devices, if so, try turning it off.

  • ICloud Drive Sync Problems on Mac OS X Yosemite

    Hello all,
I have been having issues with my iCloud drive for many months with slow syncing and documents being outdated. Typically a restart would solve the problem but it seems that it has gotten worse lately. Especially after purchasing the 20GB plan and starting its use heavily for work and personal.
The problem seems to be sporadic where the Sync takes several hours to complete. I am not sure what's the best way to identify the progress of the Sync, but I know that some of my files are out of date when I get home after working on them all day in the Office. I have been trying to solve this problem by restarting my laptop or iMac once, twice, and three times until the bars show up and the sync actually starts.  If I don't force the sync by restarting the documents are never updated.
This morning, it has got really bad and I ended up signing out of my iCloud on my MacBook Pro, restarted, and then logged in again to iCloud drive. Its been hours and only a portion of the documents have been synced, the rest are basically stuck...I am not sure whats the best way to debug this problem and fix it.
I have gone through the basic debugging steps, so checking that I have the right ID, restarted the Mac, etc are all tried and many times. I need a serious set of steps to debug this problem. I am a fairly accomplished power user and have been using Macs since the late 80s.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hi,
My problem continues with no solution - I narrowed down the issue to the following:
    1) When I open the lid of my MacBook Pro and go to iCloud, the cloud icon with a down arrow appears on all the new files that need to be synced
    2) The files never download or update
    3) Performing 2 or 3 restarts kicks the sync process off
Interestingly, on my work MacBook Pro and my iMac this issue doesn't exist. So it seems there os something on my MacBook pro that is causing the sync to get stuck.
    Any ideas what to check?

  • ICloud calendar sync problems

iCloud is setup on both my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 and everything is working and syncing fine except for the calendar.
The entries i have on my iPhone are not syncing with my iPad.
    Need help please.
    Thanks

I have the same problem.  I would prefer to have manually synced through Itunes, but that method has corrupted my Outlook contacts groups, and added empty groups with the extension iphone_contacts.  Each sync multiplies the number of these rogue groups exponentially into the hundreds. And they can oly be deleted one by one. And also causes duplicates on the phone.
I finally gave up trying to fix it and tried syncing through ICloud - great, no duplicate contacts or rogue groups, but now I have these issues in Calendar and can't accept meeting makers.  When I accept them into my default Outlook Calendar, and then tried to just copy them into the ICloud calendar, it called it copy: name of meeting, and it sent a meeting maker back to the initial originator of the meeting, not just an acceptance, but actually a new meeting request.  If I still had an old Palm Pilot, I'd just use that, because I do love the phone, but this is absolutely ridiculous.  Any ideas?

  • ICloud email sync problem on mac os x mavericks

    Hi,
I have a serious problem with my iCloud email on my mac. I have been using iCloud email for few years now and I never had this problem. But I am having the problem after upgrading my iMac to latest mac os x mavericks 10.9.3 couple of months back.
The problem is, when someone sends me an email, it comes to my iCloud mail immediately with no issues. That means if I login to my iCloud mail through a web browser, I see the email there. But that email may not appear to my iMac mailbox. Occasionally some emails arrive but some not. Some emails come lately some not at all.
So the mailbox on my mac is totally unusable because I am sure not all emails are seen there, so I have to keep logging into mail through browser to check if there is a new email.
I am using me.com email address.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • I've recently started to use Numbers but when I try to sync to iCloud it asks me to create a new iCloud account. Problem is I already have one and that's the one I want to use. Looks like I have the same situation on my iphone. Any guidance? Thanks.

Looks like I have the same situation on my iphone.
The only option I'm being given is to create an lCloud account.
    Any guidance? Thanks.

The last thing you want is a second iCloud account. Try logging out and back in in System Preferences. If that doesn't work, I'd get AppleCare on the line.

  • ITunes Sync and iCloud crap sync to iPhone 5s problems, sorry for the profanity

This is an iTunes PC (slash) iPhone 5s sync question, or is my iPhone playing music from iCloud when i don't want it to?
I don't use iCloud, i Sync my iPhone 5s to my PC. I backup to my PC, save my camera roll images to my PC, and i put music onto my iPhone from my PC. Call me old fashion but it is what it is, very simple. I know ... whether i like it or not my phone and my apple account have an cloud presence i get it, i am not a complete iCloud agnostic, so please bear with me, be gentle folks.
I have been syncing selected Music,by picking specific playlist to add to the phone. One of the playlist is Purchases. I only buy music from iTunes through my PC, (Remember no judging). What i am noticing on my phone is that music is playing that i didn't select from my itunes playlists. For example i don't sync music videos, by i get them on my phone anyway, here is an example
as you can see this video played from my phone when i didn't select it to sync from itunes.
    HOW can i prevent this.
This is also happening with old purchases that aren't on my computer, like my kid's old Cheetah Girls, and Hilary Duff music, they play too.
So i guess i need a refresher about how iCloud works, and how can i stop if from playing these songs and videos i don't want. Is this taking up space on my phone??? Am i using bandwidth every time something plays from the iCloud???
    Help!!
    thanks folks

    You're welcome.

  • Sync problems with iCloud & Outlook 2010?

I am having sync problems with Outlook. Sync seems to cause outlook to crash, run boggy, etc. Tried Code Two software to sync which only made thing worse. Any ideas?

Another way to put it would be: What is the optimal combination when you have a Windows PC running Outlook on one hand, and want to sync contact and calendar information with your iPhone over the Internet?
Maybe I should ask, what is the least painful way of doing this?
    Is it Gmail+Outlook+some add on?
    Outlook.com + Outlook?
    Or something else?

  • Is anyone else having problems syncing an external calendar app (Easy Calendar) with iCal using iCloud for syncing?

Prior to upgrading to Mavericks, I would use iTunes to sync my two calendar apps--Easy Calendar (from the app store) and the native iCal and of course, I would wind up with the same calendar events on both calendars after syncing.  Since upgrading to Mavericks and--per Apple instructions, using iCloud to sync--I can't sync the two calendars.   At this point, I'm thoroughly confused about where I can go to find/see a backup of my non-iCal calendar app that's on my iPhone.  I'm beginning to think that if I don't use Apple's iCal, I can't back up or sync my calendar events using a non-native app such as Easy Calendar.  Is that correct?

I, too, had long waiting times. Here's what worked for me.
As I went through some of my Pages and Numbers documents, I got warnings that there were sync discrepancies (differing versions in iCloud and on my iPads and laptop). So, I removed everything from iCloud Drive using my laptop (saved to local folder). I let my iPads sync so they removed all the iCloud-based documents. On the laptop I went through and forced everything to the latest file format (latest Pages and Numbers on Yosemite) by re-saving, then copied everything back into iCloud Drive. My iPads both updated within seconds and everything now syncs quickly.
Don't know if eliminating sync discrepancies is the solution, but it seems to have worked in my case. Hope it might help others.

  • Contacts & iCloud: can you have more than one iCloud account syncing with Contacts on the Mac?

I want to set up a shared iCloud account for multiple users in a (very) small office environment, where several new iOS devices and, for the moment, two Macs (2012 13" MacBook Pro and 2013 Mac Mini) will be able to read/write to a shared Contacts account – and at the same time maintain a second, personal iCloud account linked to the same Contacts app on one machine, which account's contacts data will remain private and inaccessible to the other Macs/devices which are likewise using the shared account.
Can this be done? (I.e., can Contacts app on a Mac include separate iCloud accounts?)
If so, how to set it up?
    Thanks

Thanks for your answer. There's no problem with others accessing that Mac – it's used by one person only – my question is can you add a second iCloud account to Contacts. Over the past two days I had tried to add the shared iCloud account to Contacts and kept getting failures. But maybe the server was down or the ISP was weird: your response assumes it can be done and so, to my embarrassment, I tried again just now and violá, it's done. Thanks again.
P.S. Finding a simple presentation that makes clear you can have more than one iCloud accounts syncing to Contacts at the same time was very hard to find, either from Apple or others on the web. Maybe I don't know how to search, but they could do with a clear explanation of this for the uninitiated.

  • Documents created on my iPhone or iPad go into iCloud with no problem.  Why can't I get the documents created on my MacBook Pro to go into iCloud?

Documents created on my iPhone or iPad go into iCloud with no problem and I can then access those documents from any of my "toys".  However, documents created on my MacBook Pro do not go into iCloud, and as such, they are not accessable from my iPhone or iPad.  How can I get the documents created on my MacBook Pro to go into the cloud?

    Reset iCloud sync state
    On Mac:
    Close open applications
    Open a Finder window
Choose “Go to Folder…” from the “Go” menu
    Enter “~/Library/Application Support/”
Find the folder named “Ubiquity” and move it to the Trash
    Restart your computer

  • I'm having a trouble getting icloud mail without my personal email. All icloud features syncs unless mail didn't sync I am running mac ox 10.7.2 any ideas?

I’m having a trouble getting icloud mail without my personal email. All icloud features syncs normally unless mail didn’t sync I am running mac ox 10.7.2 any ideas?

I discovered that my cord was bad. I used someone else's cord and then it worked - that's how I was able to determine it was the cord, so I replaced it. (In case someone else has a similar problem.)
BTW, I'm still having a problem syncing my iCal, so I posted that problem in the iCal forum. If you think you can help, please look for my message there.

  • ICloud Contacts Sync with Outlook 2007

I have an iPhone5 and an iPad2. I have been using iCloud to sync Contacts between these two devices for a few days without any problems.
Today I installed iCloud Control Panel on my PC (running Windows 7 and Outlook 2007) to let me keep Contacts in sync between my iPhone5, iPad2 and Outlook.
Everything seems to be working correctly and Contacts are in sync between all three devices. However, in Outlook I see a message at the bottom of the window which says "Synchronising Hierarchy" - there is a rotating icon to the right of the message. This message has been displayed for the last 3 hours.
Does this indicate some aspect of sync is still in progress or is there a problem?
Thanks in anticipation of your help.

On his phone, sign in Settings>iCloud and enable Mail so that he can have his own email address. Then add your account in Settings>Mail, Contacts & Calendars and enable Contacts and Calendars. They will then appear on his phone alongside any syncing he has set up. This will keep your emails separate, or you can add Mail as well so that you can both access that if you want. You can add his account in the same way on your phone and enable any data types you want to sync.

  • Sync Problem.. MBP = IPAD/IPHONE

    Sync Problem: (Icloud)
Sync is ok on my Ipad and Iphone, but wont work on my MBP... I cant even get access to the documents  on my MBP... Is this the commen BUG ? ((I have not yet updated to Mountail Lion).
    Sincerely Thomas

I have not yet updated to Mountail Lion
Until you upgrade to Mountain Lion & update iWork '09 to v9.2 you will not have automatic syncing between your Mac & iCloud. You will have to use iCloud.com in a web browser.

  • ICloud keeps syncing my Notes between my iPad/iPhone

iCloud keeps syncing my Notes between my iPad and iPhone, even though Notes is turned off in iCloud on both devices. How can I prevent this from happening?

Thanks a lot, fromsouth, your advice solved my problem!
I turned off notes from mail contacts and calendars on my iPad, this cleared all the notes on that device.
If I turn it back on again, all the notes present on the iPhone appear on the iPad.
This is exactly what I wanted.
Just FYI, I have only the one email account on both iOS devices as well as my PC.
I rarely back up to the PC and the last time I did that was about 3 months ago and at different dates for each device. Yet the sync was happening every time I added a note to either device, before or after those backups.
So, I'm still a little confused about which does the sync - iCloud or PC?

  • Sync Problem Post-iOS5 Update

I use an iMac, have an iPad 2. I just updated to iOS5. The update appeared to go smoothly. I attempted a wi-fi sync with iTunes and my iPad couldn't locate my computer. I plugged in the iPad via USB to my Mac and iTunes recognized my iPad.
iTunes shows "waiting to sync" message in the window and it stays like that until a message appears, "The iPad could not be synced because the sync session failed to start."
I've never seen this message before. New problem. I restarted both machines. Same result.
I don't know if this is an iPad issue or iTunes issue. I put this in the iPad forum because my iPods sync without trouble and my iPad did sync without trouble before the update to iOS5.
Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Well, I use Onyx to help wrangle my Macs' operations. It's a great way to optimize performance. I executed all maintenance scripts and clean all caches. I just let Onyx do run everything it could having to do with automation. That seems to have worked. I can now sync both via USB and Wi-Fi. I don't know what was causing the problem, but running Onyx and then restarting did the trick.
Now if I can figure out how to get iCloud to sync my contacts to my iPad, I'd be very happy.
