Icon to access voice command

Hi. I'm sure this has been requested before so feel free to merge threads...
I would like the option to add an icon to my homescreen to access voice command, as an alternative to holding in the home button.
Thanks.

I find, currently, that I am still using vLingo (free app) to do some of the things I can now do with voice command because I like that I can access it with the icon on my homescreen.
It seems silly to need an additional app to do something that is now covered by a default app, just because it doesn't have a preferred way to access it... such as a shortcut icon.
Additional thoughts from other users are most welcome.
Thanks for reading.

  • Bought my 1st iPhone today (4S)  Just started using for less than 5 minutes and it has a voice command that talks on Everything and the pages wont scroll up and down and cant change screens from the page it boots on.  Wrong apps open when I open an app...

So I bought my wife our 1st iPhone 4S today w/ Verizon.  I booted it up and it started having a voice repeat every command, and function (no, its not Siri).
BTW...  Siri doesn't work, I can't scroll in the settings, when I open an app it actually opens the wrong app, and I can't find a way do fix any of it.  I tried a hard boot by holding down the power button and the button on the lower midddle of the phone.  When it rebooted, it got worse.  Now what?
Not too excited about switching phones if this has already begun...  Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Is there a way to turn on/off 3G for iPhone 4S with a voice command and/or without Siri?

For example, I almost always have 3G turned off on my iPhone 4S so that I won't use any of my cellular data when not needed. However, when I'm driving, and I need to use Maps for directions, it would be nice to unlock the iPhone by voicing my PIN and using a voice command to turn on 3G and accessing Maps.
Is there already a way to do this? I know that accessing applications via Siri will be capable when iOS 6 is released.
Voice Control should also be set to the default voice-command option when Siri is either off or when the iPhone does not currently have access to the internet. Because Siri requires the internet, Voice Control could be used to unlock the iPhone and turn on 3G. Once 3G is turned on, Siri can take over (if Siri is turned on in Settings) to access an application, like Maps. When finished, there should be a voice command that will "turn off 3G."
So, here's how the whole process could work:
    1) hold Home button to access Voice Control and respond with PIN to unlock the iPhone - "one, two, three, four" or "twelve, thirty-four" for PIN 1234 (I'm not sure if people would want to say, "one thousand, two-hundred, thirty-four")
    2) once unlocked, it should intuitively stay on Voice Control so the user can say "turn on 3G"
    3) if Siri is enabled, it will take over Voice Control; if Siri is disabled, Voice Control will remain active, bu you should also have the voice-command option to "turn on Siri" (now that 3G is on)
    4) a voice command to "launch Maps" - I know that this will capable with iOS 6
    5) when done, hold Home button and voice a command to "turn off 3G" via Siri
Could this feature please be integrated into iOS 6?
In terms of driving and accessing Maps, this would be a lot safer and a lot easier.
    Thanks!

  • Voice command in Cisco Unity Connection

I'm currently using Unity Connection 8.5.1 with Cisco Unified CallManager version  7.1.5.  I'm trying to see where I can make sure our Class of Service is correct for the Unity Connection voice command and am unable to find anything. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thank you

On the Edit Class of Service page, under Licensed Features, check the Allow Access to Advanced Features check box, and then check the Allow Users to Use Voice Recognition check box.

  • Voice command doesn't work

I loved the fact that the Motorola Droid Razor would have voice command but it hasn't worked right since we bought them a week ago. Anytime I attempt to send a text, note to self, call...it pop's up "server problem". The voice command feature will do a google search but I have that widget on my home screen. Has anyone else had this problem?! I have went to the store and I am so sick of hearing, it must just be the local network, wait 24 hours and see what happens. IT HAS BEEN A WEEK!
    Frustrated!!

Mamashep, I want to make sure you have full use of your Droid Razr. The voice command is a great feature! Are you still having this issue? Are you able to access the internet and other data applications on your phone? Are you using the voice command from the widget? If so, try removing the widget and re-add. If no change, try clearing the cache from the Voice Search by going to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, All, Messaging, Clear data/cache.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Whenever I open any game the game automatically closes. Then I open setting and saw that there is a voice command then I activated the voice command after that I can't scroll down the page so I want to OF this thing. Help Me Please. This is letting me in big trouble.

There is no Voice Command. there is Voice Control when you can control the Music app via voice commands. There is Also Voice Over whe the iPod spped the commands to you.
You may have the accessibility VoiceOver feature turned on.
Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:

  • Voice command for Contacts doesn't work after a re...

Voice command for Contacts doesn't work after a reboot or a contacts restore.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Backup contacts. Open Files > Backup & Restore > Select Contact for Backup Contents and select Back up now.
    2. Edit/save a contact, press and hold the call button, speak contacts name. The voice recognition works fine.
    3. Restore contacts. Open Files > Backup & Restore > Select Contact for Backup Contents and select Restore.
    4. Reboot phone when prompted.
    5. Press and hold the call button, speak contacts name. The voice recognition does not work.
    Work around:
    Edit and save each contact.
    Additional Information:
Social integration with contacts also does not work after a reboot. The facebook icon and "See what xxx is up to on Facebook" is not displayed. The same work around "Edit and save each contact" also applies. This occurs using the Nokia N8 and Nokia 808 Pureview.

Has anyone had this issue, is there a setting I am missing in my phone?
    Hello,
This is not necessarily and issue with the phone. It could also be an issue with the car`s bluetooth software that is only limited to some functions like reading your contacts list, last calls, missed calls, etc. which is most likely the basic 2.0 version.
The Z30 has the 4.0 version that has a lot more communication capability but if the car`s bluetooth its a lower version, then you will not be able to take full advantage of it unless you upgrade the bluetooth software in your car. Call your dealer and inquire about the bluetooth software upgrade in your car

  • Can't call contacts using Voice Command on HTC DNA

On my old HTC Thunderbolt I could touch the microphone icon and use the voice command to call someone in my contact list.  It does not work on my new HTC DNA.  This feature kept me from having wrecks while driving because all I had to do was punch one icon then speak “call so and so cell” and the call would be made.
How do I turn it on or get it to work?
I have instructed my family to sue Version and HTC if I get killed while driving and having to punch in letter to call someone.  They have already demonstrated they have the technology to perform in the Thunderbolt and other phones.

Why is it that the Voice Search is broke right out of the box.  I know it has to do with the Google Now app but I can't find the fix anywhere.  I like how the Verizon WCS recommends what I am sure what we all did first.  Absolutely no help.
I would love to install Voice Search from Google but the play store says it is already installed.  But it is defaulting to the new google search as part of that Google Now app.  Neat app but it wont dial anything other the home or mobile phone numbers. So I have to manually dial my wife at work.  Also, the voice search from the phone screen wont dial if I say call my wife.  It just places the text in the dial box.  ***?  Anyway, I just switch to verizon to try to get a better HTC then what sprint offers.  I love the speed of the phone but Sprint seams to make sure the basics work on there phones.  My EVO worked great with the old Voice search including hands free dialing to work, home, or mobile by saying "call my wife at work"  Because I have My Wife as the contact name for my wife.
Please let me know if you found a fix for this.  I really wish I could install the old google voice search but I cant.
Maybe Mr. moderator can light a fire with HTC to correct the problems.

  • Is there any way to control automator through voice commands?

is there any way to control automator through voice commands?
Im simply trying to program my macbook pro early 2011 8gigs ram to resound to voice commands using automator but I haven't found any discuss on the subject.

I have some AppleScript that expects a Pages (v5.2.2) document opened. It will then then speak the document name, and the count of words in the document. Or, I can trigger Speakable items and tell it to, "Switch to Pages" which it does immediately, because this is part of its repertoire of built-in commands. Then speak Word Count?
In Automator, I created an Application, in which I dragged/dropped the Library > Utilities > Run AppleScript action into the workflow window. I replaced the AppleScript boilerplate with my existing AppleScript code that speaks the word count, and saved the Application into <login dir>/Library/Speech/Speakable Items folder as Word Count? (without the .app extension). It can also be saved in the Application Speakable Items > Pages sub-folder under the general Speakable Items folder.
Next, I turned on Speakable Items in System Preferences > Accessibility > Speakable Items.
It took several tries to get a spoken result from the Automator application, but it did work. Even with a calibrated microphone, and speaking about 18 inches from it. About 2 successes for ten tries. If I just put the AppleScript (without extension) in the same folder, my success rate would improve to 5/10. You may grow very weary of the repetition necessary to get Speakable Items to work. A small pink text banner also appears with the spoken content in it — below the Speakable Items monitor on the screen.
Automator is scriptable. This means that in AppleScript, you can dynamically build an Automator workflow, and then execute it.
