ICP Module of HFM

Dear all,
I have one doubt. If we are going to use ICP module of HFM then do we need to load the data ONLY in PERIODIC and not YTD mode?
Which method is OK for dealing with ICP transactions, using ICP module or dealing with the same without it.
Do we need to write some additional rules for using ICP module?

Hi all,
We use ICT-module to match IC-balances, not transactions, ie. YTD data. For that we have no special treatment in the rules.
The set-up is not straight forward, though. We have dedicated ICT-input accounts where the ICT-input and matching happens. From those the data is pulled to income statement and balance sheet accounts with calculation rules.

use the error lookup tool in consultant utilities to get more detail. There will be an error code in a log that starts with x8004 which gets entered into the tool.

Troubles developing EPU Module in HFM.

I need to implement or develop the EPU Module, to calculate the investment of the holding company, so I compare compare the calculation with the amount recorded for the holding and corresponding adjustment. For that we create the rule that is above, in which A21MP is the created account to paste the adjustment in equity investments, and CC1 is the capital account that should be multiplied by the% loaded in the module table.

With this rule, we do not see anything, if I run the calculation module does nothing, if you modify a% abort the calculation, as if I apply force vanishes rule EPU. The strange thing is that disabling the entire rule and go partially enabling it runs and I aborted but does not calculate anything.
Who can guide me as to properties that must be considered as well if the rule is correct?

So I finally have some news for this topic:
I use eclipse as development tool. Actually I face this problem only when starting my applet in eclipse.
After I had uninstalled all public JREs except the one I wanted to use with my applet, it worked fine outside eclipse in the distribution environment.
I cannont figure out what the actual problem is but it seems to be a problem inside the JVM.

Error creating ICP Reports in non-HFM format

I've got HFM 11.1.2.1.103 installed on a 32-bit Windows Server 2003 R2. ICP reports in HFM-fromat open just fine but ICP reports in non-HFM fromat (pdf, xls) open with the following error (although they used to open fine too):

In the FMErrorLogViewer the previous to the error step looks like writing the generated report into a temporary folder: CBIPubSystemReports::GenerateSystemReportOutputSpecificFormat - bstrReportOutputFileName = C:\Oracle\TEMPFO~1\\BIPubTemp50. But I cannot find the file specified in this folder. I've checked rights of the user that runs HFM service but those are fine. I also tried restarting server but it doesn't help.
Does anyone have ideas about what the problem could be?

Hi,
Try adding "Network Service" and also IIS_IUSR (for IIS7 depends on your version of IIS for exact group name) as having full control of the folder.
From memory, the issue you mention was reported as a bug in 11.1.2.1.00 and supposed to be fixed in .103 (the version you say is installed.)

HFM 11.1.2 Cannot Deploy Application from Workspace

Hi,
I have sucessfully installed Foundation,Workspace, Calc Manager, EPMA, HFM, FDM and Financial Reports on a single Win 2008 SP1 win 32 server. All Products configured on std ports and services are starting allright.
When I log on to Workspace and create a new HFM application validation is Sucessfull. However when I try to deploy the Application it fails.
Error Reported:
HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error
Action aborted.
Log file Says nothing but:
HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error
My Environment:
Hyperion: 11.1.2
OS: Win 2008 SP1 win32
IIS7 has Allow all ISAPI
ASP is allowed

The problem was solved
I went to IIS and then to the Virtual Directory of HFM and clicked on Browse, instead of showing me a white page with HFM written on it, there was Internal Server Error web page with more details.
I Redeployed all Sub-Modules of HFM in EPM Configurator except for Database Configuration and then Restarted the machine. Problem Solved.

Problem in Validation of ICP dimension

Hi,
We have a problem in validating ICP members in FDQM.
We have few accounts for which ICP value needs to be present.
In our existing mapping in FDQM,we have an explicit map,which maps source flex to ICP account.We have a default map which maps flex that do not have ICP to [ICP None].
The problem now, is with the existing mapping,if the acount is an ICP account and if it is not included in explicit mapping,it is getting mapped to default [ICP None].
Since we are not getting any kickouts for ICP accounts, it is giving us problem in performing eliminations in HFM.
Could any one suggest any work around where,when any ICP account is not maaped in FDQM,it should give a kickout rather than mapping to [ICP None].

There are some partial truths to all of the above....the most accurate being that if ICP None as an acceptable member for Accounts flagged as ICP then you will have problems because it is a valid intersection.
But there are bigger things to think about. What values come into the icp dimension? Is there always a value being passed through or is that value sometimes blank?
If there is always a source value then you do not have to use Explict types of mappings. All you have to do is make sure that your *-to-[ICP None] mapping is ALWAYS the last mapping entry in the Like type. Think of it as a catch-all. You just have to map your source-to-target values appropriately.
If the values coming in are blank then you can still use the above procedures. If you do not use a *-to-[ICP None] mapping and a value comes in as blank then FDM will automatically place [ICP None] in the extract field....it does not map it to ICP None though!!!!!
Are your source values the same as those in HFM? These are things to think about when mapping.
Quick note...if a value comes in blank and you try to drill back then you may end up with a false "Show Conversion Rules" view. For example, you have two rows imported with every dimension being the exact same EXCEPT the ICP dimension, where one has a value and the other is blank then you will end up seeing the value that is not blank when you select the "Show Conversion Rules" option. To remedy this I've created an Import Format script for the ICP dimension and check the value coming in...if it is blank then I change the value to "Blank" and map "Blank" to [ICP None]". This allows me to use the Drill-down/Drill-back features correctly.
Mappings are very simple no matter what dimension but yes, ICP is the trickiest because ICP None can be a valid intersection.
Lastly, you could have you very last mapping as a *-to#Script....or a Conditional Mapping where your scripting is checking is as such....(See conditional maps in the admin guide for further info)

1 - If the icp value is blank then check the list of all HFM Accounts that should have an IC Partner. You have to get the list of all accounts flagged as ICP from HFM and continue to update this mapping accordingly.
2 - Check to see what the Target account is
3 - If the source account is mapped to an ICP account in HFM and the value is blank then mapped the ICP value to "*BAD ICP*" because *BAD ICP* is not an account in HFM which will cause an Invalid Intersection Report
4 - If the mapped account is not an ICP account in HFM then map it to [ICP None]

Multiple reason codes in ICT HFM

Dear all,
We are implementing ICT Module for HFM 11.1.2.1 for one of our client. After the reconciliation by transaction ID and by Account, there have about hundreds of transactions that do not match and they have to enter reasons code.
It seems that they have to enter reason codes transaction by transaction. Is it possible to select all the non matching transactions once and to assign the same reason code for all in one operation ?

HI,
1 From the list of intercompany transactions, select the transaction or transactions to which to assign a reason code and click Edit.
Note: You can assign a reason code only to transactions with the MisMatched status.
2 Take one of these actions:
To assign a reason code to one transaction, from Reason Code, select a reason code.
To assign a reason code to multiple transactions, enable the check boxes of all transactions, select Edit, then Set Reason Code, select a reason code and click Set.
The reason code that you select is assigned to all the selected intercompany transactions.
3 Click Save to save the changes.

How to create ICPReport in HFM

I am trying to create ICPReport in HFM. Is there any documentation on how to create ICP reports because there are quite a few different options in the reporting section of workspace.

Yes, U can create ICP Reports in HFM, using ICP Transaction Reports, In workspace, Administration-->Manage Documents-->Reports--> ICP Transaction Reports, there you can select the Etity, ICP Entity, Or, Accounts, Or Tolerace Amt, so based on these contents you can generate the reports.

Upload to Phase 2 of HFM when Phase 1 is closed

Hi everyone,
Im facing a challange, that im struggeling with.
User is creating one file, containing information about IC and normal BS and PL.
The IC Information is send 4 days earlier as the remaining informations.
After the first upload the phase in HFM is closed,
now after some days the updated flat file is uploaded containing the same ic informations. These does not need to be uploaded again, but the remaining informations.
But the intersection validation report tells me taht the IC informations cant be uploaded.
the intersection validation report should not be deactivated.

Sorry if i wasnt that clear.
Imagin:
First day of month user needs to upload trough fdm his ICP informations to HFM. He uses an BS & PL flatfile from his sourcesystem. After upload he puts his entity from Phase 1 to Phase 2. Like that all the IC Accounts are locked for that period.
Second day, now the other non IC informations are required in HFM. User now uploads again the same FLatFile as yesterday but with updateted non icp informations (Remember, HFM has the IC Accounts on Phase 2) now as the Flat File contains the same ICP informations as on the first day he tries to upload them as well, but because HFM is on this IC Accounts on phase 2 the calues cant be loaded and im getting a Intersection Validation Report on this IC Accounts, telling me that i do not have the rights to upload them.
So, what i am looking for is, how to build the workaround to pass by the IC Account information on the second day without creating a separate locatin that uploads just the non IC informations.

ICP Entity Member not to be eliminated

I am facing an issue regarding ICP elimination in HFM.
We need to capture ICP details for certain entities that are not part of the entity roll up. However, the balances reported as ICP with these entities should NOT be eliminated in the consolidation process.
We could create them as "dummy" members of the entity dimension (so they become part of the ICP members) but then they would automatically be eliminated as any other ICP transaction, which we do not want.
Is there any std feature for this purpose? Maybe a rule to prevent elimination on these "dummy" entities would do. Any ideas?

I think you can get accomplish this using rules. The elimination occurs after a statement similar to the one below is evaluated:
If (StrComp(strICP, "ICP None", vbTextCompare) = 0) Then
CanEliminate = FALSE
I would think that if your entities have a specific prefix or suffix that clearly distinguish them from all of the other IC entities, you could evaluate on that prefix/suffix and set the CanEliminate =FALSE for those entities just as it does for the ICP None Entity.
You will have to test this, for I have never encounter this situation before...

this "direct link for HFM" is for development troubleshooting purposes ONLY and absolutely NOT for production users.
There is no "direct link for HFM" as there is for planning, that is meant for production users, in HFM releases since the Workspace integration. The only method of access from 9.3.1 + releases is via the Workspace.

HFM security

Unable to login with MSAD users but native users are able to login into HFM. All the native an dmSAD users are able to login to workspace and other hyperion modules except HFM application.
