ID and Description instead of only ID in BPF region selection
Hi all,
At one of my customers we implemented BPF. While selecting region valid for the BPF the user can only select and see ID's. Customer wants to see the description as well. (would like to attach an example but I cannot find how).
I cannot find any parameter for it. In case you know if it is possible and how can be set, please let me know.

Hi Johan the ID of BPF is a string. So you can use more and less an ID providing all necessary information. I don't think it is necessary to have description. Actually I think it is not possible to use description for selection instead of ID. I think it is an asp page which can be changed to display the description also into combo bex for selection but it will not be easy to change it.

Help I can't get my images and description from recordset to display in repeat region table
Hi everyone,
could somebody please help me, this is my first php and mysql website, I have a web page that is supposed to display a table with 2 rows 3 columns.
In each column i want an image, a description and a paypal button.
then i have a repeat region placed around the second row which should display 3 records at a time.
The recordset worked when I tested it several times, and the paypal button displays in the browser, but the image and the description won't display and the repeat region doesn't work either as only one button paypal button displays.
I have uploaded the actual page, in the hope that some could take a look and help me to find out what the problem is.

Start by getting a single row to display, and leave the paypal button out for now. So that means you will see the first record in your recordset, the image and description. To view the description, use the data bindings panel, expand the recordset and drag the description field onto the page in the table. For the image, insert and image placeholder and point the source to a dynamic data source. Again, choose the approprate field from your recordset.
Once that record is working, add your repeat region and test.
For the Paypal button, I am not sure if each button will carry the correct information with it in a repeat region. There has to be a way to dynamicall add the approprate data to the paypal link for each record. You may want to also incude checkboxes or radio buttons and have only 1 paypal button - but that introduces other issues which we can tackle later. -
Why am I getting a blue box with question mark instead of logo image? It happens in my signature (in gmail) and in mailchimp (again, only with the logo).
The question mark in the box, if it looks like this: means that safari cannot find the linked image. On windows machines, this would be the equivilant of the small "page-with-a-red-X" logo that appears in the same scenario. Check the reference to the image and make sure that the image is in the correct location, and is accessable by the reference.

FSG showing Account description instead of value and description
Hi ,
I am getting rows without Account Values in an FSG that I created - it has 27 columns. I had specifically created a row order with Value and Description for the Account Segment with all other segments having width zero. When I run this FSG I only get the Description and not the values. I tried everything from increasing the width of the column and also removing the row order but it still shows only the description. I also tried with a row order with Value only for the Account Segment but even then it shows only the Account description. I have no idea what is causing it? Can you tell me how to fix it?

Probably it is listed down somewhere when you actually executed the query among the others. Try completely analyzing your trace file.. -
How to I stop iTunes from reloading what was on the iPad instead of what I have selected? Summary screen shows "Sync only checked songs and videos" Music has only the selected playlist. All songs were deleted from iPad by swiping them to the left and hitting delete (very time consuming). Sync is set to manual. However whenever I hit Sync, the old music gets put back on the iPad. I have had this happen at least 6 times.
Solved it. "Automatically fill free space with songs" was checked on the Music page. Worked perfectly once this was unchecked.

How to show description instead of code on a view page?
I'm new so this is probably basic, but I didn't find an answer when I tried searching.
I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, ADF Business Components, ADF Faces.
In my application, I have both view pages and edit pages (some users will only have read access). Many of the fields will be populated from LOV and the code will be stored in the database.
The edit page is no problem - I have read-only VO for the LOV and I use af:selectOneChoice and display the description. But how do I display the same description on the view page? By defaiult the code is displayed when the entity based VO is dropped as a ADF Read Only Form.
I assume I need to do something in the BC, but I'm not sure how to get values from read-only VO into my entity based VO. Or do I have to make all my VO for LOVs entity based even though they will never be edited? Or is there something I can do in the view to get the description instead of the code?

Hach CompanySo if I understand you properly, I need to create EOs for all my list of values (which are based on views of Oracle apps tables) and base my VO on those EOs. And then I setup associations between these EOs and the Item EO. Then I include the these EOs in my Items VO and add the description attributes to my list of attributes. I had done this for the list of users, but for the views of Oracle I had just created read only VO. Sounds like that won't work if I want to display the description. I know what to do - I guess I was hoping there was a way to use the read only VO.

How to fix BC blog post meta title and description
BC blog post <title> and <description> shows (seo) from sidebar/post list - But does not show in blog post page thru site menu nav.
The blog post title and description show up corectelly when clicking on sidebar list of posts.
It must be using the module layout list.html which I have set up with:

Firstly, putting blog posts meta title in the list layout is really bad - You do not do this. This is not how meta works and you need to understand a bit more about what it is.
If you have a list of blog posts on a page all with lots of title and meta BC will do one of two things.
1. Use the very last title and meta it sees rendered on all the layouts/templates/page it sees
2. Render the last title and spit out multiple meta's
Meta implementation is for the detail layout of something like a blog only - The single rendered content - 1 title, 1 meta description. For your blog this will ONLY go in the blog detail layout.
And in that layout at the bottom of it..

You need to understand that, remove it from others to fix up that issue with what your doing first. Very likely because you probably have this in other list layotus and all over the place your seeing inconstant output, address this and you probably will actually find your issue fixed. -
ITunes and iPhone 'Remote' app, only plays one song at a time
Using iPhone 'Remote' app to control iTunes on Mac. I click on Albums, select an album, select the first track, it plays and then stops and goes back to the albums list. I've tried every conceivable combination of the little icons for Shuffle and track repeat, nothing changes this, it always plays just the track and select and then it's done, it goes back to the tracks list. I've spent hours researching this and cannot get it to work. Thanks for any help.
Hi, although unchecking tracks is one way to manage what gets put on your device it has other side effects that make it less effective than the use of selected playlists. I generally use unchecking for marking tracks I'd usually want to ignore, such as bonus interview tracks on an album, or podcasts that aren't compatible with my device.
It is much easier to use playlists rather than check boxes to manage the content. There is no need to make a series of ad hoc playlists however. You'll need two, one of which you can throw away later. Create a new smart playlist with the rules *Playlist is Music* and the option *Match only checked items* ticked. Call it Checked. Now create regular playlist and call it, for example, Sync. Select all the tracks in Checked (cmd-A I think) and drag them into Sync.
Now you can go to your main music library and cmd-click on an empty checkbox to check all of your tracks so the unchecked behaviour no longer interferes with playback. Change your sync options so that the device syncs with your new playlist. In future you can manage the content by adding and removing things from this list instead of checking and unchecking them.

Entering values in Web Services ID and Description, for External Catalog
Hi,
I am trying to connect to an external Vendor Catalog from ERP. Pl note that we just have ERP ECC 6.0 and no SRM. I went to SPRO and followed menu path 'Materials Management >> Purchasing >> Web Services: ID and Description'. I am not sure what to enter in 1) Seq. Number 2) Name of Parameter for Web Service and 3) Call Structure COLUMNS.
I have URL from Vendor, User Name and Password. I need to know what values are mandatory here so I can successfully connect to external Catalog. If someone can give me sample values, I can try.

We are able to connect to Vendor Catalog, select items in Cart. When I press 'Place Order' button, I see all items populated in SAP PO ME21N screen. We can then add other information and create PO. This is working great. We have another question. Heard that with ERP ECC 6.0, we can only connect 1 vendor catalog. But with SRM, we can connect more than 1 vendor catalog. Is there a BAPI or change SAP code to connect more than 1 vendor catalog from ECC 6.0 ? -
Web reporting - variable selection should be display as key and description
hi experts,
Can anybody tell me the solution for my issue. My isssue is , in the web reporting, i have variable company code, i am selecting the company code thru search help. the values for company code is displaying with key.
the new requirement should be displayed with key and description.
I have checked in the bex, the properties of company code has maintained as key. when i run the report when cas selet as key and descritption. bex is not a probelm.
only the problew with webreports, can anybody give some inptus on my issue.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?

Multiple bitrate encoder creates 3 seperate events and streams instead of a single event.
I'm using the Niagara 4100 streaming appliance to encode a live multiple bitrate streams for an event. The problem is the Niagara encoder doesn't allow me to attach an event name to the stream url like - 'streamevent%i?adbe-live-event=liveevent', instead it only allows 'streamevent%i'. So in the end I get three seperate events with a stream for each event.
Like so:

DaveThere is a workaroud available but you can try using Flash Media Live Encoder, which is a free tool for better results. Surf to - C:\FMSHOME\samples\applications\livepkgr directory and you will find a main.asc file in there. This is the server side scripting file that is attached to the livepkgr application.
In this, edit the var liveEventName variable and set it to the event you want to attach your streams to eg - "liveevent".
Now create a separate copy of your livepkgr application inside C:\FMSHOME\applications\ like livepkgr_mbr and replace the main.far file with the main.asc you just edited. Now while publishing, connect to this application livepkgr_mbr and just specify the stream name - livestream%i. Check your permissions before starting the recording.
This should work for you. But please remember that doing this will cause all your streams to be associated with the same event - liveevent as you are hard coding that inside the main.asc file. So its best to keep a separate application just for this purpose. -

this happen on already sync bookmarks on which we add some tags, labels and description, but not on new ones.
no error message when logging or unlogging.

Thank you for your question, I understand that after a recent sync to your sync account that there are Recent Tags, descriptions and labels missing. However it is only the older Bookmarks that are affected.
I have attached two screenshots to clarify to make sure I understand the feature that is affected:
# The first has the default recent tags and list of all tags.
# the second is an older bookmark visited 32 times that has all of the details after a sync.(However it never had a description or keyword)
