Ideapad z710 wifi drivers isues

Hi guys, i just installed Arch on my brand new Lenovo ideapad Z710 yesterday. Today i decided to install NetworkManager (i was using a netctl profile until now) the problem is that when i try to connect to wifi, Network Manager keeps prompting me for the password and never actually connects, i think the problem is with my wireless drivers, cause when i plugged in a wifi adaptor other than the laptop's built in one everything worked like a charm and ethernet also works fine.

Well, I installed Bodhi-Linux which is a derivate of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
For info:
When I switched to console, I noticed that tty4 is not possible to be accessed. In Midnight Commander (it's a small prog, like Norton Commander, for the terminal) F4 will call the nano-editor, this does not work. It's a bios bug, I think the scan code can be remapped.
Bumblebee is for using the Intel-graphics and the Nvidia-graphics, my Z710 has got Optimus. On Bodhi this works, but after reboot the bumblebee daemon have to be started by root in a terminal. Surely a modul problem, could be solved by blacklisting some modules.
Secured Boot is an option for the UEFI-system (booting) which only allows certified bootloader to be booted. A few distros could handle this by using "shim".
I will go with KALI-Linux (debian based), because of the newer kernel, 3.12.x instad of 3.8.x.

Ideapad z710 windows 7 wireless issue

Hello. First of all, I would like to say I love how great the products lenovo puts out there.
Second of all, I am frustrated. I just purchased a Lenovo z710 and dualbooted with Windows 7 since Windows 8 was my primary OS (ew).
So I downloaded all of the drivers necessary for the Windows 7 OS, and all of them work...but my wireless.
I am running the 64bit model of 7. I cannot get the wireless driver to work or "install" Much help would be appreciated!!

There was a long thread on one of the boards here that was about the exact same issue but on a different laptop.
Turned out the problem was UEFI, but they were doing it with an SSD. In there case UEFI had to be updated.
But there is another thread specifically with your exact same issues.

There are some solutions there that may work for you.
As for the company not caring about any software other than windows 8, if you get right down to it, the system worked perfectly well with the supplied OS, it was your choice to downgrade. Did you check to see if this was possible before purchasing the system? I feel the same way as most of you probably do, I like Windows 7 much more than Windows 8. Windows 8.1 is kind of a median version between the two. If you don't have a touch screen, it still is not fun. But Windows 7 mainstream support ends in January and extended support dies in January 2020. That means after January you will have to pay Microsoft to get help with windows. If you look around you will find that ALL manufacturers have either totally stop selling systems with Windows 7 or are pretty close to it. And I can assure you after January they will stop all sales of Windows 7. At that point if there are not drivers for your devices, chances are pretty good there never will be. Very few OEM's continue writing drivers for operating systems that are in the process of being phased out.

Hallo ich habe im Novenber 2014 das Laptop gekauft,jetzt ist das laptop laufend abgestürtzt.Und weil ich 100% Behindert binn hat mein freund aus versehen die HDD Komplett mit einem Festplattenprogramm gelöscht.das Lenovo Z710 Läuft mit win.8.1.jetzt hat er das System auf der HDD gelöscht,musste ein Win.8.kaufen OEM 64 bit.,leider bekomme ich die Lenovo webcam nicht wieder an,und die Gesichtserkennung Veriface ist auch weg.Jetzt meine Frage wo Bekomme ich diese Produkte (Programme )wieder, da durch meine Behinderung meine Hände sind um 90 grad Durch Rheuma Verdreht ich mich mit dem programm immer angemeldet habe ohne das Kennwort immer eingeben zu müssen.Ich Bitte um verzeihung wegen der Schreibweise,aber das zu schreiben ist für mich Sehr anstrengend.Gruß

Ideapad S205 wifi stopped woking

The wifi on my wife's S205 suddenly stopped working.
When I press fn+f5 it tells me to "First switch on the wireless device".
There is no physical switch on the computer - at least not one that I can find.
I have tried uninstalling the wifi drivers and then reinstalling via Windows Update but to no avail.
It runs Windows 7 Hom Premium SP1
I am totally stuck.
Kinda embarassing too since I work in computers.

There is tiny switch at the right side between HDMI and microphone input.

[W520] Can't install updates for Intel WiDi or WiFi drivers

The Lenovo ThinkVantage System Update is telling me there are Intel WiDi and WiFi drivers available. When I try to install them they seem to install fine, I get a Windows pop-up saying 'you're new hardware has installed correctly', then my system restarts and the updates are still listed as new available updates. In the ThinkVantage update history it says for both "Did not install". When I look at the driver version for the WiFi driver it is 14.03.0000.0 but I already have version 15.1.0.18 according to the ThinkBantage Toolbox System Information. So I already have the newest drivers? Why is the Update tool prompting for these updates? Should I just hide these updates? I don't care about WiDi but I'd like to have the newest WiFi drivers.

I understand the frustration this must cause you. If You uninstall and reinstall the System update and the WiDi and WiFi drivers. This could fix your problem.

HP Probook 4440s WIFI Drivers Not Working After Windows 10 Update

I updated my Hp ProBook 4440s from windows 7 32 bit to Windows 10 32 bit, everything is working except for my WiFi it says 'Windows did not detect any networking hardware' Can you please provide me with the compatible wifi drivers for Windows 10 Pro 32 bit. I hope you can help

Hi: I guess what I meant to say is that you may want to play around with some of the advanced settings for the card in the device manager. It seems that reading the article you posted, that procedure may have been for folks that have Cisco software to allow for Virtual Private Networking (VPN) and I don't think the drivers you have include any Cisco extensions. You can see if there is Cisco networking software by going to the Programs menu in the control panel and see the list of programs installed. There are usually 2-3 Cisco networking software items listed if you do. Sometimes tweaking those advanced settings help. Set Roam tendency to conservative. Roam decision to optimize distance. I had to change some setting on an old Intel 5300 wireless card to allow it to connect in W10. How to update my wifi drivers

I have a macbook running Vista Home Premium (2gb RAM), the sound is awful and stutters, skips...etc, ahhhhh Windows, we love you! Anyway, I unfortunately need to use it, and a suggestion has been to upgrade all wifi drivers.
Firstly, wont they be upgraded automatically by my apple software updates?
Secondly, if not, how do I find out the makes so that I can upgrade. I've tried "About My Mac".

The original iPad 1 cannot be upgraded past iOS 5.1.1.

I have similar problem to above, but a different wireless adapter. Using T440s. Upgraded to windows 10 pro x64 and most things are working well however the wifi is very wonky. The T440s is in the same room as the router so signal strength is not an issue, and all was working well on windows 7 before upgrading. While there is connectivity, the throughput is fluctuating. It will be ok for a few seconds (6-10MB/s) then the connection will die and drop to 0MB/s. Then it will go really slow, 30-60KB/s, then perhaps it will climb back up to normal speeds. Sometimes it will just stay dead. I have noticed in the connection properties window the value for Speed is changing, this is something that I have never seen before. In the past, it was always "Speed: 300.0 Mbps" Now it's fluctuating to all sorts of different values, I've seen 300, 270, 150, 235, 27, 36, 210, it's all over the place. The adapter is "Intel Dual Band Wireless 7260AC with Bluetooth 4.0" Have tried driver 18.11.0.8 from lenovo and also one from the Intel site, happens on both. :UPDATE: After looking at the readme for these drivers i seen this in the 'limitations' section: "Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radio are both operating on the same 2.4 GHz band. When both of them are used simultaneously, you may see slower communication speed and/or reduced communication range caused by radio interference." I have confirmed this is my issue, extensive testing shows consistently that when my bluetooth mouse is off the issue does not exist. Not sure how to proceed, I can't change my router to 5ghz as there are incompatible devices in the house.

ich hab leider keinen Plan ob ich das hier richtig poste, aber ich hab seit zwei Wochen ein Problem mit meinem Lenovo Ideapad Z710. Die unten angezeigte Fehlermeldung ist zum erstenmal aufgetreten aber so eine ähnliche kam aber in den letzten zwei Wochen schön öfter, darin stand das: "Grafikhardware wurde für die Anwendung Adobe Plu Flash Player blockiert. Dies ist aber nur beim gebrauch von Youtube und Facebook aufgetreten. Danach konnte man die Anwendung nur mehr schliesen und es funktionierte nichts mehr.
Bitte um Lösungen.

SM30-304 Wireless/WiFi drivers

I have recently had problems connecting my SM30-304 laptop (part number PSM30E-0QKJ1-5U) to my home wireless network which uses PSK securtiy. The router is Netgear and I am running Windows XP Home SP2.
The network is visible, however when I try to connect to it, Windows does not prompt me to enter the password for the network and refuses to aquire an IP address from the router. The drivers installed for the network adapter date from 2003 and do not support PSK security?
I downloaded the latest WiFi drivers from the following address: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/product_page.jsp?service=UK&PRODUCT_ID=77064
however upon attempting to install them, an error appears claiming that they are the wrong ones for the card?
I am not sure where to go from here as I am not sure WEP will be usable in this instance. Did I get the correct drivers for the device or is there another problem?

In my opinion problem is something else. If your WLAN is visible that shows that WiFi card works well. If you can not connect it to your local WLAN it is because of settings.
Try to remove WLAN protecting for a short time and check if you can use it in this case.

IDEAPAD U310 WIFI PROBLEM

I have problem with my wifi it shows "No network found". . .I've done several troubleshootings already like refreshing our wifi modem, refreshing my ideapad to original windows settings, trying to disable and enable the adapter in device manager, tring to diagnose the adapater but still it doesn't find any network until now...I tried in my phone wifi is okay only my laptop cannot detect networks. I also tried the ALfa 3rd party wifi receiver connected in my laptop through USB it works. I don't know what's the problem with my laptop. Maybe the adapter or wifi card. Ihope you can help e on this .. . .Thank you and God bless

Ideapad S12 wifi

Hello, I have Ideapad S12 with Windows 7 RTM... Is there any way to get wifi working? My HW switch to wifi is on, but the shortcut Fn+F5 does absolutely nothing... Tried Beta drivers "Hotkey Features", but they can't be installed, no installation package is found in the installer. Any advice please?

some drivers comes out of the box...some via windows 7 update (my got Intel Graphics on this way) but not all...
